    Rise and shine out there...

Pouring rain this morning. Ice fishermen were out on the ponds the other day, heard there was 10" of ice, but the mild weather yesterday and this rain will weaken it. Will wait till we get consistent below freezing to go myself.

Intended a day off yesterday and wound up tinkering with piano. Fixed a broken hammer shank (glue and carpet thread), polished tarnished key-pins and strings, tightened hundreds of screws, vacuumed dust out of the innards, touched up wood scratches with shellac. Ordered some parts and supplies to replace worn felt parts and repair keys, coming in a week. When that's done, I can then begin tuning and regulating, and eventually even play a song! The mechanical parts seem in surprisingly good condition for being as old as it is. Makes me wonder if it was refurbished at some point.

    Onward and downward...

    Good morning!

We had a nice, quiet day yesterday. It was very nice. Thank you all for the well wishes!

Today will be trying to get a few domestic chores completed. I still need to take frequent rest breaks, but I am able to do a little more now.

Bill, I'm glad that you finally have a chance to start getting settled into your new home.

Lee, I'm glad that you finally have a chance to start getting settled into your new home. You still need to think about shortening that timeline. I shortened mine by over a year and I have no regrets.

    Have a great day!

    Mornin' gents.

Timeline is set, Steve. Gave my word, so long as health holds, and my health seems to be actually improving (knock on wood).
Glad you and Connie had a nice Anniversary.
Hardwater fishing time. Hope you get out, Mike. Sounds like good news on the piano.
Sorry to hear you are battling aches and pains, Bill. Settling into a new home is a lot of work.
    Getting any biking in Bob?
Used almost all of my activity points and weeklies this past week. I'm guessing no movement on scale will be the result of that. Too much cheese, drink, and desserts.
Hope the head cold has abated in Georgia.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

Doesn't seem like a normal Monday, does it? Holidays in the middle of the week throw off the normal flow.

I haven't stepped on the scale in more than a week. I am sure to be up. But almost all the high-cal leftovers are gone. Just a handful of cookies remain. There are some wonderful candy bars - DDIL gives me some Ritter Sport Pfeffermint bars every Christmas. I don't know where she gets them. I have loved them since I was stationed in Germany. I ration those out for lunch on hikes, though, so they are not an immediate threat.

Showers all day, today. I need to clear shavings out of the shop, so I have room to make more. I am sure Rita will have something for us to do this afternoon.

    Good Morning,
    Breakfast with ROMEO's this morning.
Infection clear but allergies still causing profuse sneezing. DW still very congested has one more day of antibiotics.
Beautiful clear sunny day warming into mid sixty's, tomorrow should be a little warmer.
Plans for New Year's Eve call for bed by 10.
Hope you are feeling better Bill, I do not envy anyone moving but it will be great to get settled into new home.
Take it easy Steve, it takes time for body to heal.
Gotta keep ladies of house happy.

    Good Morning

Sounds like you are moving right along on the Piano Mike. I imagine it will be very rewarding to be able to play on a classic piano you restored.

We are moving our of Eugene today and into an AirBnB in Florence late this afternoon. We will cram our car full of stuff much of which we will take to the house. We blessed Target with some of our cash yesterday to get some of the things we need for the house until things arrive next week. Today we are going to do a little prep and figure out where stuff will go in the kitchen since most of those boxes are in the house now. Not too much rain today which will be nice. Not much rain today so a walk around our area seems in order before we check into the AirBnB at 4pm.

Looks like mostly dry here in PDX area south of Dave (Tumwater/Olympia WA) dry walk this morning.
Yup Lee try to get out and bike daily. I have ridden 332 days so far this year so not missed too many days for travel, weather, or medical stuff. I try to get in at least one ride daily and hopefully not during the wettest part of the day. Baby steps have led me to 143,900 miles and still going. Just small rides but adds up over the years.
7 out of 7 days this last week incl early x-mas day ride.

I make an effort to ride in part because my Doc wont give me EPO (Erythropoietin) because I am not a pro athlete??. haha I am chronically below the bottom end of RBC and Hbg range but not enough to be technically truly anemic. Does make me tired though. Biking helps to eek out a few more RBCs so it motivbates me to get out. Anecdotally my counts are somewhat higher when I bike more for sure.

Sounds like things are moving along Bill.
Hang in their Sam with your congestion clearing.

    Cheers.
