    Good morning!

I always want to blame Frankie when I get up at 5:00 in the morning, but this morning I simply had to use the restroom. My shoulders were also hurting. We are bracing for a major ice/snow storm starting tomorrow. My arthritis is now hurting a lot. Always something it seems.

I am going to try to get several things done today ahead of the storm, including bringing in our few outside Christmas decorations, and an errand or two like going to the pharmacy.

For Christmas/our anniversary, I gifted Connie a "she room". We are moving all of the clutter and things that are me related, and some of Jacob's stuff out of Jacob's old bedroom. I told Connie that she could spend what she needed to make that her sanctuary space. She has purchased a chair, a side table, and a shelving unit so far. Today I get to assemble the shelving unit that arrived yesterday. It is a nice unit. I have been moving a ton of stuff to the basement the last several days. This I think has added to my rib issues. I can't lift much and my 31 y.o. son is being an *kitten* about helping. Still, we are getting there. I have only a few items to still get down stairs, the heaviest being a cedar chest. I also still have to get the printer/copier downstairs, and then a few smaller items. We are getting there. I can lift 15-20 pounds now without it hurting much, but I need to still be very careful.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

Careful with those ribs, Steve. Don't want a setback on your recovery.

Steady rain this morning, clearing in the afternoon. I'll try to convince Rita to take our walk in the afternoon. It's a hassle drying Sassy after a rainy walk. Big dog with lots of fur.

I am up too early, too. Awoke at 3:15 and couldn't get back to sleep. Gave up trying after an hour. Sassy thinks I am crazy. She'll come down in another hour or so.

    Good Morning,
Dawgs just were not into game last night, couple of fumbles did not help.
Lee, I wish you had some of deer we have here, they know we cannot shoot them, so they just waltz around the neighborhood; of course, it does not help that some feed them.
DW has kidney scans today and exterminator making quarterly visit today.
    Hoping for quiet weekend.
Went and got DMIL for New Years lunch Wednesday, did not wear or bring her hearing aid' could not understand anything being said. She did bring a large purse that contained two other purses. She sat in great room chair and dumped purses out three times then decided she had to go downstairs; opened door and did not close so what ever could come in. DW found open when putting leftovers in fridge downstairs. After I took her back to personal care home she called DW said she left hearing aid here. Then proceeded to call other daughter and tell her she needed to call police to come look for her hearing aid. Then called nephew who lives in Shavannah to tell him he needed to call police to come go through trash and find her hearing aid. She found her hearing aid on table beside her chair but still has not told us she found it.
    Safe travels Lee.
Hope everyone's New Year is starting off GREAT

    Good Morning

Heather is getting her She room with the house since we have 2 extra bedrooms. It will be her crafting space. I do know there will be a chandelier. But I get a room too, for solitude, prayer and study. Both will be convertible into guest bedrooms for visitors. Good progress yesterday at last we stayed till about 7. Alarm system is in until the additional sensors arrive. The siren isn't pairing with the system so I get to make a call since online chat instructions didn't work. Lots of rain yesterday, it appears I need to regrade part of the yard to reduce standing water moving onto the patio, nothing major. More rain today but there should be breaks to get out for a walk. We only got a short one in last night when we decided to walk to a place for a late dinner. I am starting to feel better again so am eager to make progress on conditioning, walking for sure and perhaps some movement workouts.

Good evening... missed posting here altogether yesterday.

Sam, your DMIL story made my day.

DSIL hunts--duck, deer, pheasant--and fishes on rivers and lakes, too. Didn't get a deer this year, though. Only hunter in the extended family I think, although my late DB used to, way back when.

Ran into a setback working on the piano. Bought wrong size parts, have to wait another week for right ones to come. Made a lot of progress though on various repairs, cleaning, and lubing. Getting antsy to tune the thing once it's all back together, and play it a bit...

Cold weather coming all next week; looks like we'll miss the storms others may get.

Went for a walk this evening in my favorite wildlife area, first time since before Thanksgiving, now that hunting season is over. Not crazy about hiking between bullets.

    Onward and downward.

Yup looked lots lots of rain in Florence yesterday. some State Parks closed today due to local flooding and landslide. We just don't do that well with rain and our soils.
eye appt was ok. Honestly I am pretty "blind" in my left eye for quite some time anyway. Just is.... The bigger problem is "stereopsis" or what many/most people think of as "depth" perception. I can tell how far away something is by its size so depth perception in that sense, but I cannot fuse images with both eyes to create the true sense of "roundness" for example and sometimes miss pouring coffee into a cup type of think which needs that stereo vision so to speak.
I see better in most light with my left eye occluded to prevent interference from its crummy vision although I do fine in cloudyish light with sunglasses on like this a.m.
I would probably see ok to just walk around just using that eye but nothing else. sometimes can't even make out the big "E" on an eye chart but see colors shapes and sometimes some large words etc. Just don't want it or my good eye (20/20) to get worse from glaucoma . So far my eye drops are working to keep things as they are.

Had nice ride today after the morning rains.
