10º here... I think it's a clear sky but it's still pitch dark and can't tell.

Tuned the piano yesterday, a second time, because it was so far off that by the end the increased tension changed the pitch of the strings already tuned at the beginning. C was B, and B was B♭, etc. Starting to sound good, but will need yet another tuning before it's right. Also cleaned the gunk off the sides of the keys that built up from greasy, sweaty, tobacco stained fingers over the last 116 years. The edge of the ivories is also stained almost brown on the keys in the middle of the keyboard. Sunlight might gradually bleach that, or hairdressers peroxide. Expecting parts I ordered today and can finally begin leveling the keys and regulating the action mechanism.

Bible study this morning. I have to remember the 10# I lost recently and not welcome them back by indulging in whatever the old ladies have baked. Sam, I sometimes bring them prayer intentions for folks I know, will add you and DW.

I went to check the ice on the ponds yesterday and there were large areas of open water here and there. That 10" of ice we recently had was wrecked by the heavy downpour of 50º rain we had a week ago. This cold snap will hopefully remedy that by the end of the week.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Good morning!

Mike, progress is being made on the piano.

    Happy birthday to Heather!

It is a toasty minus 9 at the Henry house this morning. I let Frankie out the front door and just watched her. She ran around to the back and I let her back in. We can't do that often, but right now, we don't have a lot of choice. Collin did a lot of digging out by shovel last night so that he can go to work this afternoon.

Prayers for Joanne and for Sam the caretaker.

    Have a great day!

    Mornin' gents.

Snowy, tell us a little about yourself.
I live in NW CT, married to a powerful 112 lb lady, two grown sons, and a toddler grandson.
This board started on Weight Watchers message boards back in the mid to late 2000's, then when WW shut down their message boards, we moved the board over here to MFP.
I've been posting on it since 2008, when I was 47 and now I'm getting ready to turn 64 in a week. Still working full time to support my dog habit. Looking forward to going part time when I turn 65.
A lot of water under the bridge in 17 yrs. Most of us have been posting on this board for the same time period. We look forward to your posting and hearing about your journey.

A wee bit of snow yesterday afternoon. 13 degrees this am. -9 sounds unreal cold. 21 degrees in Monument CO.
    Happy belated Birthday to Heather.
    Prayers for Sam and Joanne.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

    (((Joanne and Sam)))

I had to think about it, but I think I started here in 2009. Snowy, I'm a 74-year-old retired Army sergeant major, an avid hiker and wood turner, living in Western Washington.

Love the reports on the piano restoration, Mike.

Cool here (39 degrees). We'll walk this morning, then have to wait around for a guy to come repair a chip in the windshield of our CRV. The outside Christmas lights come down today, too. Still haven't finished that large maple bowl on my lathe. Maybe today.

Good morning guys. Thanks for the request to share a bit about myself. Beth and I just celebrated our 46 th anniversary. We have two wonderful adult children who both have two children. Family is a big part of our lives in rural western Maryland . After 35 years in juvenile justice I retired at age 56 ten years ago.

Around 30 I started getting heavy. I am a big dieter who looses weight pretty fast, but has always struggled to maintain the loss. I did weight watchers 20 years ago. I lost the 100 pounds and still have my certificate. Twice I loss near 100 pounds by massive daily swimming and walking. When Noom was popular I did it and became a noom master, around 2014 I joined, Take Shape for Life which later became Octavia. On this one I lost 170 pounds and was published by tsfl in article and in an advertisement. Today I am nearing 300 pounds and my heaviest was 398 years ago, so I have sorta maintained a loss of a hundred, but am actually 80 above my tsfl lowest weight. I went on Ozempic years ago before it was known for weight loss and continue on it now.

Sorry for length, I’ll wrap it up, due to Diabetes and poor health , plus negative impact on life I really must loose weight and maintain it. I consider it life and death at this point. Thank you for listening, I feel certain that interaction with folks will definitely be helpful in my next journey.

    Good Morning

I don't have a clue how long I have been posting. I remember the WW boards becoming a thing, especially GoaD and then this group, and then their decline and our migration to here and other landing spots. It has been a heck of a long time. I'm a 71 yo retired corporate accounting/finance guy who has just relocated with his bride to the central Oregon Coast to live out our days. Last few years have been mostly health issues, but I am looking foward to slowly rebuilding health and activity levels. I put on a lot of weight last year during the cancer treatments & back surgery recovery. Eventually I stopped trying

Yesterday we celebrated Heather's Bday with a wonderful meal out. I didn't think of trying to track it. It was excessive, delicious and I through in a glass of wine since we walked to dinner. Refocusing today. Its an ugly start to getting on plan, but it is a start. Yesterday was small DYI projects in the house. Today I need to fix some of the damage from one of my misadventures. Confirmed the delivery date for our possessions so finally we will be able to actually move into the house.

Glad your piano is slowly coming around Mike. Same thing when I tuned several octaves in an old upright grand piano with a wooden harp that was straining.
    Yup Happy B-Day Heather.
Glad to hear Collin shoveled out some snow to get to work.

Oh I am a 79 yr old guy who likes to Bike daily and chase after elusive Dinosaurs with a museum I belong too. Retired from eye research where I worked as an electron microscopist studying models of how the rods and cones in eyes regenerate. Have been a master gardener but lots of folks way better than me. Live in Oregon in the Portland (Beaverton) area with DW of 50+ years and have a son and daughter.
I have indolent B-cell lymphoma and been radiation treated for prostate cancer. So far so good.
I lost 50 lb and am currently 5- 10 lb above that.

    Anyhoo welcome snowyjr1

    Good Afternoon,
Name says Leonard but I go by Sam. Began Weight Watchers in 2007 or 2008 when DD (dear daughter} signed up me and DW (dear wife) because I had numerous heart issues and DW is diabetic.
