    Good morning!

    Today is Sunday rest day. That is good. I'm not sure how I did it, but I had over 10,000 steps yesterday. My rib hurts some this morning, but I have come a long way in healing. I'm thankful.

    I have been experimenting with different recipes. Today, I plan to make some diabetic friendly oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I need to go out and buy some almond flour first.

    Frankie let me sleep until almost 6 this morning.

    Good morning...

    5º here this morning (again). DD & I hiked a few miles yesterday afternoon. Some parts were packed snow, but others 5" of powder, making it more of a workout on the legs. Nice to get out; afterward we went to a new Indian restaurant and had rice with two things I couldn't pronounce or describe, but they were very good.

    Slept 9 hours, but got up 3 times to use the bathroom. I am 4 lbs lighter this morning than yesterday. Must be fluid worked off by that hike.

    In past years here we always had snow on the ground from December till March, sometimes remnants in April. More recently it's been common to have bare ground between storms, or snow that turns to rain at the end and disappears.

    Coffee is brewing....

    Mornin' gents.

    Golly, guess I missed the fact that Pete Carroll had stepped down after the 2023 season. I obviously wasn't paying attention and didn't thoroughly read article about him taking the Raiders' job, because it was most likely mentioned in the article I referenced.
    Should be good games today.
    Warming up here. Might hit 35º today.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Yes, Pete was fired after the 2023 season, just like Bill Belichick. As a 49ers fan, from the Bay Area, I'm not surprised Bill doesn't like Coach Carol, but we loved him up here.

    I have come down with a cold, it seems, my first in about a year. So, I might actually watch some football today, while sitting around feeling sorry for myself.

    Been churched and dealing with DMIL, got DS to deal with her this morning I'll go by there this afternoon; she started showing out yesterday afternoon. So bad this morning they called in Head of home to deal with her who called me while I was at church this morning.
    Busy week coming up.
    Warmer today, rain coming in tonight then gradual warming each day.

    Good Morning (Barely)

    We had a fun day exploring yesterday. We headed 20 miles down the coast to the Umpqua Lighthouse and explored the shore area before heading back up the coast to pull into the southern end of the Dunes Reserve and hiked down through the forest to the sand dunes at the base. I am fascinated by the area. A good stretch of sand, more forest before sand dunes leading to the coast. We have a lot to learn about our new home. Seeing results from almost daily activity, no longer having my lower back tighten up after 10-15 minutes. A way to go on the endurance and cardio fitness, but slow and steady wins this one. Still struggling with digestive issues. It has been 11 mos now. Its getting old.
