Gotta finish this cup of coffee...not supposed to have any more to drink two hours prior to arrival.
I too, am impressed with the ability of having joint replacement as an out patient procedure. I will be spending the night just because M feels more comfortable with me spending the night.
Praying Joanne will be able to wean off the 02. When my dad was on 02, he had tanks in his apartment, and a portable concentrator that he took with him outside the apartment.
Well it is 12º here this morning. Ugh. Usually I leave the girls outside after letting them out, but they is back inside when it is this cold. They said "OK!".
Onward and downward ;-)

Good morning!
1 degree this morning and snow. We have about an inch right now, but expecting another 3-6 inches today during the day. Then comes the bitter cold. Record cold expected three mornings in a row. Wind chills as low as minus 30. Most schools are closed today. 40s and 50s next week. We just have to get there. I'm going to try to take off the bottom of the snow blower this morning to put on a new drive cable. I've not done that before and YouTube is sketchy on that.
Lee, praying for a successful surgery and rapid, complete healing.
Sam, it is great that Joanne is home. Prayers continue.
Mike, I'm glad that you got to Boston safely. That is no fun driving in those conditions.
Have a great day!0 -
13º here and wind makes it feel like 5 below. I'm supposed to take Rory for a walk but we'll wait a bit for that. Besides the weather there's lots of icy spots on the sidewalks here and there. Should I wear spikes and dull them on the pavement, bare-boot it hoping I can hop over the icy spots, bring them and put them on and off? (Let Rory walk himself?) There is a pond up the road with icefishing going on. Might be nice to pay a visit...
Lee, I'm amazed we can replace joints at all. I remember hiking 20 years ago with "old guys" who had recent knee replacements and not being able to keep up with them.
Brought some books to read and my piano tools to regulate the touch on DDIL's keys. And my laptop. Trying to write a memoir of my mother, who died giving birth to me, from people's recollections they shared when I was a kid.
I had an O-2 concentrator for my CPAP at one point but lugged along heavy tanks when camping, a nuisance.
Good luck to Lee, and everyone here. Have a good day.0 -
good morning gentlemen.
Hope all goes well today, Lee. I'm sure you will soon be following the girls in much better form with the new knee.
Still praying for Joanne and Sam.
We have returned to a more normal weather pattern: not too cold, with periods of rain. I can live with this.
Took Rita up to Seafood City, the Philippine grocery store south of Seattle, yesterday. They had the first honey mangoes of the season. We bought two boxes of them and gave one to our grandkids. Rita also got several varieties of fish and some dried fish, too. Happy wife, happy life, as they say.

Good Morning
Lee is likely through the knee replacement now and soon will know the joy of walking on it for the first time. I am glad his wife talked him into staying overnight so he can work on stepping up and stepping down and such. We went off the movies to see Paddington in Peru. Fun film. Kids in the theater added to the environment. I need to get my PSA & related blood work done but my paperwork wasn't at the lab as promised which the Lab said wasn't unusual for my Doc's office. This morning I will drive to the Doc office to get a copy and then to lab. It was all electronic in the Bay Area. And tomorrow we drive to Eugene for a rather unpleasant test. Thankfully temps have warmed and rain will be minimal these two days. This afternoon we are off for our weekly Bogart film at the theater. One I have never heard of is on tap for today. I'm in my room, had lunch but spinal is slow to wear off. Can't wiggle my toes yet.
That is Fargo North Dakota weather, Steve.0
