    Mornin' gents.

Thanks for all the supportive and kind words. Almost 48 hrs post op. Super painful when I got home. I think PT gal at hospital might have pushed me a wee bit too hard, plus squeezing and sitting in M's RAV4 was probably not the greatest. Knee blew up like a bodybuilder starting on steroids. Stoopid doors to bathrooms will not accommodate my walker, so am using my walking sticks until M can pick me up a cane at Walmart today. I have yet to have a BM yet. C'mon coffee!
Pain is under control, and I am gonna dial it back a bit on PT. Using celebrex, diladaud, tylenol, and tramadol. The longer acting opiods are the ones that have the rep for addiction, and they don't work that well on me anyway. Keeping ice pack on round the clock.
PT coming to the house today. They were very concerned about dogs and weapons in the house when they did the screen call yesterday. They should be more worried about the icy walkways.
Yup, glucocorticoids will really mess up glucose metabolism, but they are between a rock and a hard place with her breathing. Glad she is at least feeling better.
Thank goodness it was just a smoke out, Mike!

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good Frosty Morning!

Frankie woke me up at 4:30. To make things worse, I stumble out into minus 15 degrees temperature this morning. What???? That is just crazy cold. We will start slowly warming up after today.

I hope that Mike is clearing out some of the smoke.

Lee, continued prayers for your healing. I hope that the swelling and pain go away quickly.

Sam, I pray that Joanne gets some relief soon.

Nothing going on around here today. It is just too cold. The furnace is running almost nonstop.

    Have a great day!

    G'morning...

High winds have died down and temp got above freezing yesterday. I think the reason the fireplace belched smoke was the 50-60 mph gusts outside, and when I started it I didn't preheat the damper and flue by lighting balls of newspaper stuffed up into the flue. And there was just one "Instant Light" log burning. I had only lit it 10 minutes before, so the draft, initially okay, wasn't strong enough. (NOT going to test that theory by lighting another fire, however.)

Lee, sounds horrendous. Heal up quick. Yeah, the icy sidewalks here are hit or miss. Have to watch every step. Hang in there... You'll be racing with those pups before you know it.

Sam, praying for you guys. Everything's going on at once there...

Have been fiddling with DDIL's piano. Sounds tinny and some notes "bobble" from time to time. I tuned and regulated it last April, but have learned quite a bit since--might not have done it correctly.

    Time for some coffee.

    Good morning gentlemen.

Hope all you in pain are finding relief today. We really are turning into a group of walking wounded.

More signs of spring. When I took Sassy out a few minutes ago, I could hear peeper frogs singing in the retention pond a block from our house. It's 42 degrees, but they are already looking for mates. The forecast is predicting temperatures up into the low 60s the first week of March. Can't wait.

Getting car serviced this afternoon, then choir tonight.

Yup Lee sooo sorry about your swollen knee post-op. Like Dave says will likely hit 60deg next week. I am planting my first batch of slightly sprouted peas today and probably more in a few days.
Ya Sam praying that Joanne gets better soon.

Off to see Paddington in Peru today which I hear is great.

Hmmm interesting MIke I remember a cabin we stayed in that had a fireplace and woodstove hooked up into one chimney and one of them had to pre-heat the draft or ya got smoke.

got in a nice early bike ride but ran into PEPE LE PEU as I roound a corner into a neighborhood pass-thru. He had his tail raised at me but luckily didn't squirt me (I was only about 4 feet away at the time).
So PHEW!!!!!! NO PEU on me. wouldn't have been good going to the movies smelling like a skunk huh!!!
Hope all are getting better with medical issues and pains soon.

    Good Morning

We saw Paddington on Monday. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Lee glad you are home. You are going to need alot of ice packs. I used the recommended ice machine which kept the swelling well under control. No Oxy....I can't imagine. I used it for about 2-3 weeks but my Dr was pretty good about helping wean my off and onto tylenol.

Yesterdays scope of the bladder went well. Not a fun procedure but not as bad as it could have been. I got to see the inside of my bladder on the monitor which was interesting as he described things to me. healthy 71yo bladder and more importantly no growths or tumurs to biopsy. There appears to be an irritated area which is likely radiation damage. Only 8% have periodic bleeding from this and usually down the road. Guess I am just lucky that way, should have bought a lottery ticket. Final check will be the CT scan of my kidneys to look for tumors as a possible cause. PSA has come down which is welcomed. Rain has stopped nice weather. Good day for a nice walk and a trip to the transfer station.
