Tomorrow I leave for N. Maine; forecast here is rain, some snow as I get halfway up into Maine. 400+ mile drive. Looking forward to being a radio guy for the race checkpoint, but not sure about having to cover overnight if sleds go slow. Was told to bring a cot and sleeping bag. We have to stay on until sleds get halfway to next checkpoint, possibly until late next morning, and I'm not sure what that involves. Do I just sleep there with my CPAP gear on and be available if a dog comes in and licks my face? Haha. I don't sleep well as it is, and if I get over tired I have trouble falling asleep and catching up. But I'm sure it will all work out.
Race has a facebook page, and there's pictures of the mushers, and about 20 veterinarians and vet techs.
Sam, looks even better'n TOAD! Nice roadster.
Have a good day.

Good morning!
I sat in the hot tub this morning pre-dawn. Now I feel all calm and fuzzy warm.
Sam, that is one sweet ride! Good for you!
Bill, the weekly Bogart movie sounds really fun.
I am going to test the ribs today when I go to Lowe's to pick up two solid core doors. I need to replace a couple of hollow core doors in our hallway. I can probably get help getting them to the truck if I need it. Collin can help me get them upstairs. I just need to slide them out of the truck bed into the garage. Easy peasy. I am able to lift 30+ pounds now without pain.
Prayers for those in pain and for healing. Prayers also for the waterlogged Oregon ducks (and Dave in Washington).
Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Well, we are waterlogged no more. Should get near 60 today, with some sun.
Enjoy the new convertible, Sam.
Careful with the doors, Steve.
Enjoy the trip north Mike.
I managed to spend a little time on the lathe yesterday, just having fun. I turned a section of apple limb into a pair of mushroom forms. Always a pleasure to do and people like them for small gifts.
Rita time this afternoon. I'll be in my chauffeur mode.0 -
Mornin' gents
Watching endless loops of "Alone"
As I wean off my pain meds, my nights are getting a little rougher, but manageable.
I sauteed a cabbage and onions last night on the outdoor grill. It was a bit fatiguing standing there for the 30 minute cook. But it was delicious in combination with pork tenderloin M made in the slow cooker with cherry preserves.
Bogart movies. So classic and so many quotable lines.
I've also been watching some old westerns. Watched the remake of "The Magnificent 7". Its was good, but not as good as the original.
Hot tubbing sounds very relaxing.
I think if you are careful, you'll be OK with the doors, Steve.
Enjoy your shop time, Dave.
Onward and Downward ;-)

Good Morning
Mike, sounds like quite an adventure
Now that the torrential rains have move on the weather has been glorious. You would never know it had ever rained. We had a fun day yesterday. We grabbed a sandwich before the movie to keep off the snacks at the counter. We headed to old town for some hot beverages along the very peaceful Siuslaw River, grabbed some groceries and headed to the furniture store to pick up the delayed pillows from our original furniture order. We had a $100 gift certificate from them, so we persued the store and bought a couple of throws. Exciting stuff. Today I still need to track down my kidney CT scan referral and do some cleaning and then some fun stuff.
