HOW IT ALL WORKS: The March challenge runs for four weeks, from March 2nd - March 29.

Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win, and may everyone else get to work on next week!

We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every single week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leader board. In March we are aiming for every team to hit 50% green every week - let's do this!

To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):

If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you want a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or can be moved to the Support Team for as long as you need. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally. Don't worry! You can always come back even if you get dropped.

Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone. You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team.

In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.

Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love Introduce or re-introduce yourselves right away, and let's get March on the road!

    Welcome to March 2025 🍀

I am Lauren, co-captain along with @ashleycarole86. I am 38 years old and from North Carolina, USA. I have been on a weight loss journey most of my adult life. I have done a lot of the yo-yo thing, losing a lot of weight in 2012 and then gaining it back. Over the last few years, I seem to be gaining and losing the same 10-15 pounds.

I ended up maintaining in February which seems to be my story the last few months. I really need to buckle down and start focusing on my habits. My goal for March is to lose 5 pounds by tracking every day, getting 7,000 steps daily, and getting more sleep by not being on my phone in bed.

    Some helpful information/tools:

    Posting your daily updates
We know from experience that posting daily (or as often as you can!) makes a huge difference to your success. Use any format you like to let everyone know how you are doing on your daily goals and habits. You can report on food, exercise, water, sleep, or whatever you are tracking and trying to stick with. While you're there, talk about how you are, ask questions, and if you can answer someone else, please do! Congratulate others, commiserate, enjoy someone's rant, or go ahead and rant yourself. It all helps make the kind of community where we are in each others' heads when the hand is reaching for that off-plan snack, or the couch is feeling way too inviting...

    Weighing in
Please try to weigh in on time (but don't sweat it if you have to use a different day sometimes)! Put your weigh in at the TOP of a message, so it is clear and easy to find. If you cannot post your weight for whatever reason, you can request a week off, or if you need a longer break, you can be moved to the "Support Team" where you still participate but your weigh-ins will not be part of the weekly tally. This is where members who are ill, on vacation, or just needing a break can hang out for as long as needed.

    The F2F Habit Tracker
If you want a simple place to track your most important habits, give this a try:
    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10933885/habit-tracker-march-2025#latest

So everyone, tell us a bit about you, your goals, what steps you are going to work on. It's fun to know your name and where you live (if you're willing to share that), what brought you here, how your weight loss journey has been, and where you are headed now. We all have information to share, things we can learn, and lean on each other as a team for a successful month!

    Hello March!!

    Steps for the week:

    Sunday: 28828
    Monday: 13563
    Tuesday: 13910
    Wednesday: 10646
    Thursday: 12190
    Friday: 14000
    Saturday: 30953

2 huge walks in there, I'm pushing them out to get ready for the 25km walk in about 2 and a half months. I'm pretty confident :)

So frustrated with the scale though, I've jumped 2kg for zero reason! I've had a couple high cal days, but nothing that wasn't more than covered by my calorie burns. I'm wondering if the new collagen supplement I've started is making me retain water, my rings are tight, so I know I am. I know it's only a blip, but it is so annoying!!

Hi all - can't believe it's March already!!

I'm Kay, 30, living in Boston and working in finance downtown. Been with this team for quite a while now, and I've spent the last 1.5 years trying to work my way slowly down from an all time high weight near 290 lbs. I finally broke out of the 250s "decade" this year, but I mostly credit illness for that as opposed to good eating and consistent exercise.

I am renewing my commitment to protein and water and consistent (doable!) weekly workouts in March. I go on vacation with my mom, sister, and aunt to Colorado and Wyoming in about 6 weeks and I am really excited to see them all and relax. I am using it as a "north star" to keep me motivated and moving the scale down.

However, that will be no easy feat in March. Next weekend, I go to DC for a wedding. Then a ski weekend away (burn a ton of calories snowboarding but also tend to ingest a bunch between apres and dinner out), then 2 weekends in a row of going to NYC for 2 unrelated 30th birthday celebrations. That is a LOT of driving, flying, and meals out. So I want to be really committed during the week with meal planning, healthy snack choices, and ideally 2 regular workouts (dance cardio Tuesdays, and strength with my girlfriends on Thurs), as well as maybe keeping my step goal streak going??

Typing this all out seems ambitious. But there was sunshine today on my lovely walk and I am feeling some good energy in the air.

@ashleycarole86 we just ended what New Englanders call "fool's spring" (part 1) - lovely temps and sunshine and it really dropped today. There is often another fake spring burst in March before mid April actually brings real spring haha.

@Alatariel75 I hear you on the jump on the scale - too many factors to account for to always know what is going on there! But your rings are a good indicator, I am always surprised when I notice my fingers seem bloated because I don't wear rings often. Keep on keeping on, hopefully it's really just a blip!

This weekend was great! I walked more than I have been recently and enjoyed some sun! I am going back into the office tomorrow since my 6 weeks are over :( I really enjoyed working from home.

    Discussion Question

Do you do any strength exercises? What does your resistance routine look like?

    Thanks @lauren_989 !

My strength/resistance exercises are 5kg goblet squats 3x 15 a couple times a week when I remember haha, plus pilates 2x a week. Pilates I do through a physio guided class, so my program is tailored to me and quite challenging, I really love it!

I'm doing strength training most days, using the FitBod app. It takes the makes a workout using the gear, time, and other parameters you give it. The other two days of the week, I'm doing yoga, along with a few minutes on an indoor bike.

Happy March ! I am feeling kinda better, I have to go have some tests done on Friday, so hopefully I will get some answers then. Saturday I walked on the treadmill for 15 minutes, but I started not feeling good, so I stopped, Yesterday I did 15 min on the treadmill and 20 minutes of Yoga/ Pilates. I don't really do alot of strength training, I tend to always hurt myself when I do, so I plan on starting again but this time with lighter weights and better form.

I just want to get some answers about what's going on. I thought it was my stomach, but I'm not sure what the heck is going on. I have chest tightness, and bloating and belching, the funny thing is, the one thing I found to make it all go away is something called sinus calm, it's a homeopathic natural pill, and it makes everything go away, so the dr thinks it might be allergies causing all this havoc, cause I get this same issue every year around the same time. Last year the dr gave me prednisone for 3 weeks and it went away.

Anyway, the scale is not being nice, so again I am trying to concentrate on food more than exercise.

    Hi Team.
I'm Joann, I'm 44, live in Alberta and work full time in Public Health. I'm slowly taking my MPA doing a finance course this semester. I have a 10 year old daughter and 2 year old German shepherd dog that keeps us active. I'm glad February is over and it's finally warming up, I can almost taste spring. I'm happy with the progress I made in February and going to keep my habits strong this month.

I had an interview for a new position over a week ago, I have a feeling I wasn't the top contender considering I haven't had any asks for references, but it was a great learning experience, and I can't get down on myself about not getting it. It's tough out there it seems in changing to a new position.

Goals for this month are to get closer to 160. It's been up and down but more on the downward slope.

@Gidgitgoescrzy I hope the doctor's can figure out what's going on with your stomach. Don't push yourself too hard!

I have been doing well so far this week and actually looking forward to weigh in tomorrow! I got a walk outside, but it definitely was chillier today! Tomorrow is supposed to warm up, and then we may have some strong thunderstorms Wednesday. I hope everyone is having a good day!

Had a good day. Got up early to get short ribs going in my slow cooker before leaving for work - simple and good source of protein. I got a workout in after work. And I forced myself to get on the treadmill for 10 min after dinner so I could keep the step streak going. Very tired now, and ready for bed.

I do some strength on occasion but it's very rare and that's something I'd like to change. Right now I am working with a physiotherapist on some shoulder mobility issues and some of that is minor strength building but it's not adequate long term

I had two good days of movement and met my step goal which has been more the exception than the rule lately. Looking to keep the momentum up!

Welcome back @ElfBodGoals and great first weigh in @babyw8gone

January felt like a year and a half, while February was maybe two days. This year is taking forever to fly by, and yet it's surprising that it's already March.

My name is Jolene. I live in Colorado with my three dogs and husband. I have been part of this group going on two years. I did great in 2023 (started around 190 and got down to 170), pretty miserably in 2024 (gained back to 185), and am starting off 2025 pretty well (low of 176.6 from 183 starting).

@Kali225 - which part of Colorado are you going to? It would be fun to meet up! .. also, did you see Vance when you were hitting the slopes in VT?

@ashleycarole86 - I know I am late on these, but here are my steps (I can't remember where I left off, so I'm sorry if I duplicate days):

Monday, February 24 - 7,432 steps - three games of bowling
Tuesday, February 25 - 6,296 steps - one hour of CrossFit
Wednesday, February 26 - 8,429 steps - 45 minutes of spin, three games of bowling
Thursday, February 27 - 6,567 steps - one hour of CrossFit
Friday, February 28 - 6,918 steps - one hour of CrossFit
Saturday, March 1 - 6,050 steps - one hour of pickleball
Sunday, March 2 - 4,851 steps - two hours of cleaning (not sure if this counts?)
Monday, March 3 - 6,825 steps - three games of bowling

Did MFP update? The post-creating box looks different to me!

Having another solid day. I accidentally left my alarms on from yesterday's pre-work meal prep so that was an oops. Dance cardio tonight should get me to my step goal. Work is going to frustrating this week but I am looking forward to the wedding I have this weekend.

@MaddawgMadsen my aunt lives in Loveland, CO! We are also going to Wyoming in the middle of the week that I am there (April 13-18 I think), to go to a ranch-style hotel that has hot springs!! I've never been in a hot spring (or to Wyoming!), very excited for that.
