I had a busy afternoon clearing the garage and taking stuff to the tip/recycling centre. Stopped off for coffee and treated myself to a toasted teacake (delicious but over 300 calories, a big chunk of my daily allowance). When I got home, I washed the car (it was parked under a lamppost all day Thursday with an unfortunate result!).
Sat down at 4 pm for a rest, then started reviewing my day in terms of – have I met the 3 requirements?
Exercise? Cycling to the shops this morning with a diversion to call on mum took about 30 minutes but it’s really just my usual activity – not “intentional exercise”.
Clearing the garage and washing the car is not something I do very often but it really falls into the same category as “housework.” My step count at this stage was less than 6,000, not even close to my goal of 10,000.
Calories? Close thanks to the teacake, no more snacks today! Agghh!
Time for some stern talking:
“Get up off your *** and get outside and walk!”
Got my coat on plus gloves, scarf, woolly hat and walked briskly round the neighbourhood.
Thanks to the brisk pace the walk only took just over 10 minutes but when I got home, I felt invigorated and did another 10 minutes cardio in the living room.
The activity helped to stave off the snack attack that was threatening and helped me meet the goals.
Once again, the UAC goals gave me the impetus to do the healthy option.
Ps my step count now, as I wind down for the evening is still just under 8,000 but the car cleaning didn’t earn many steps while being quite hard work.

It was definitely fake Spring no. 2 yesterday, today was frigid but Annie and l still got in two good walks. I did lots of cleaning and laundry yesterday which left time for a good food prep for the coming week. I've got some nice smoothie ingredients bagged up and ready to for breakfast.4 -
