March 2025 Move Your @$$ Challenge

PLEASE READ the directions below.
We welcome all newbies and welcome back to the oldies!
"Rules of the Challenge"
1. Set your goal and post it to the thread....distance ONLY (Miles or KMs) - NO minutes, NO # of workouts, NO # of calories, NO # of steps - DISTANCE ONLY.
2. Make your ticker if you want to use one (see directions below or in the FAQ thread) or add your goal to the thread.
3. Get moving your @$$ starting on the first day of the month.
4. Post as often as you can to the thread so we can keep the sheet (see link below) up to date. You are welcome to report what you are moving each time BUT please make sure you post the TOTAL miles (or kms) moved each time you update.
Please don't post any previous month's miles here. We will continue updating the previous month's spreadsheet using the old thread for approximately the first 5 or so days of the new and current month. Please add only your current month's goals/miles to this thread. Got it?

The purpose is to set a distance goal (KM or Miles) and track your distance for the month - please only do one or the other...if you are doing KM just report in KM - we have a formula in the spreadsheet that will convert it to miles for us.
You are challenging yourself, not competing against anyone else.....the distance can be on a treadmill, stairmaster, elliptical, bike, roller blades, walking, running, biking, hiking, swimming (if you can measure).....just set a distance goal and do the work.
Report to the thread often to keep us updated because we track our info on a spreadsheet (see link below) so you can see how you are doing compared to the group but not to openly compete with them. Whatever goes on inside your own brain is your own business.

The idea is to set your goal and reach it before the end of the month.
Welcome to all - new and old.....have a great month challenging yourself!
Link to the Google spreadsheet where you can view (but not edit). The Challenge Admins will update it for you at mostly random times.....but typically a day or so. Don't hold us too tightly to that though.

Directions for making a ticker:
Go to either www.tickerfactory.com and create a Fitness ticker. Then copy the "BB code" and paste it into your posts on this thread each time you do an update. (More detailed info is located in the FAQ thread on the MYAC Group page.)
Welcome and we hope you enjoy your stay and that you find this helpful in realizing your fitness goals!

I want to keep my bicycling going and it's a longer month so I'm upping my goal slightly to 150 miles for March.

Thanks Janet and Dave for record keeping tasks. I remember how many people were a part of this site when I started and the two of you have kept it running with so few. No doubt easier for you. I often wonder where those people are now. Have a good weekend. Put me in for 100 miles. Not sure how the weather will path out for March to get out and walk.0

I'm in for 50.
@clepant - I wonder where those people are now too. Some of them were here forever. Does anyone know what became of @sufferlandrian ?0 -
Please put me in for 25 miles for March.
My year check up is April 22 for my total knee replacement. We are going to schedule the left total knee replacement for September.0 -
Hope March is better than Feb.
@anaconda469: Hope your right knee is feeling good and wishing all goes well for the left knee.

Hey! Put me in for 110miles please and thank you 😊.
Oh I hate the time changes!!! They mess with me.
The pollen storm has begun here in Charleston and I am suffering. So I will be riding inside. Or walking inside.0 -

CONGRATS to @CPANUS on making her FEBRUARY GOAL!!! :drinker: I'm a little slow noticing that, but hey, better late than never as they say!
SOOOO.....if any of you besides @JANET have been in the spreadsheet lately.....you may have noticed two new columns! What can I say. My dear wife always tells me what a huge nerd I am, but I like stats! AND playing with spreadsheets.
Anyway, column M tells you how many miles are remaining to hit your pledged goal and column N shows the AVERAGE number of miles you need to do each day until the end of the month to hit your goal. Both columns are calculated automatically.

Thanks Dave for tweaking the stats page. I don”’t know how to do it , but I do like seeing my results and all that extra info.
Well disaster struck yesterday and I took a spill. I am so grateful they I was wearing my sling even though I was freed from it last Tuesday. It saved my surgical arm even though my triceps is sore in that arm and I hit my ribs on that side as well both of my knees. Up to this morning I would have said aI cracked a rib, but I am breathing painlessly and the soreness is gone.i thought perhaps strained intercostal rib muscles. I am very sore and am sure tomorrow will be worse. Just glad aI did not tear out my surgical anchors or my bicep tendon.
not much movement today..only enough to work some stiffness out.March 4: 1.5 miles walking very slowly

=============================[/b]@CLEPANT - Oh no!! So glad you didn't reinsure anything you just had fixed!! It really was a good thing you still had your sling on. So sorry you're hurting again and glad it wasn't any worse. Hope today goes well for you. :flowerforyou:

I am one sore and bruised pup, but I am moving again. My ankle is not feeling bad and I ham bending my bad knee although I am babying it. My rib still is tender when breathing, but not as bad as it was. One sore spot on my shoulder, but doing my exercises okay. I actually walked my pup slowly within the confines of my own neighborhood today. Sling on.
On. Aside note, I guess our tickers no longe work with the new updates on My Firness Pal
