@hcoleman232 , playing with little ones definitely counts as a workout. Maybe a double workout - cardio (running around) and strength (picking them up).
I’m glad you enjoyed your evening plans and the littles!

I’ve been really busy and active this week, so I’m looking forward to a total rest day tomorrow!

I’m listening to a audio book titled The Lazy Genius Way and in it the author tells of how she developed her yoga habit by it small (like Tiny/Atomic). She started doing one down dog each day.

I also just got Atomic Habits from the library. I ordered it back in January. 🤣

@pamelaory I also started my fitness journey at Curves, years ago. From there I gradually drifted into other things, like Zumba, yoga, hiking, etc. and then I had to take a forced break due to health issues. These days I do mostly water aerobics, walking, some Youtube fitness things to mix things up, and sometimes ping pong. Curves was a great way to start out, as you said it's good to have the structure and encouragement as a beginner. I hope you continue to enjoy Curves and make the most of your time there. And who knows what other fun activities you might discover in the future!

@77tes I always get a kick out of your puppy's antics (not so much the bee sting, glad she's ok!). Thanks for sharing 🐶

Well it's been an insane month so far with family issues, and I have not managed to continue with my Overthinking class. HOWEVER, I have been reaping major rewards from what I've already learned from the class (plus the breathing/mindfulness practice I started last month).

The other day a family member described me as supernaturally calm in the midst of the chaos. That is not how I would typically respond to an extremely stressful situation. I truly did feel "like a different person" and that has been an amazing experience.

The good news is that we seem to be on the other side of this mess, so that's great and I look forward to picking back up where I left off with the class 🧘

It was nice checking in with you all today and reading about the work everyone has been doing to establish their healthy new habits.

@77tes I try to do long hikes on the weekend, and rack up extra points to beat my daughter on our challenges! I won on Sunday 🏆💪🏻🥇We’re tied 4 each and start a new competition tomorrow. Sometimes the best laid plans are pushed aside. Good job continuing your practice on a rest day!

@takinitalloff So far I’ve been lucky with the meeting topics; nothing to poo-poo yet! 😂 Great job managing the stress and chaos! 🤗

@takinitalloff , wow Supernaturally Calm! That’s high praise ! Clearly your breathing practice and Overthinking class are paying off. I’m glad that the family mess is moving to the rear view mirror.

Cool that you started out at Curves too!

Today the puppy had a bath, so there were plenty of shenanigans.

Got a 1.8 mile walk in at lunch could have gone faster than a 21 minute pace too much time dodging puddles but it was beautiful almost 70 in the Adirondacks tomorrow? Rain and cooler

@snowshoe072 , that’s a great lunchtime walk! I’ll bet the Adirondacks are so beautiful in almost spring.

I was also dodging puddles today, a band of 6 intrepid Curves ladies met at the park on a rainy morning and worked out together.

Gained a pound over the first week of SXSW, with the combo of poor food choices during the day and not being able to get to my morning workouts. This week I have gotten back on track and gave that pound back. 🙂

@Interbeing , good job jumping right back on the healthy habits train. Conferences are difficult! My sister and I do CoCo (Costume College), and it really interferes with our workout routines, especially since they changed venues.

@hcoleman232 , wowzers! You got in a hike in the middle of the week! And some good workouts too!

Today was my husband’s birthday , so I was careful to get my stretching, yoga, and meditation in early while the rest of the family was still asleep. I also got in a strength workout before my daughter and granddaughters came for a birthday visit.

@77tes I decided to take a few vacation days to enjoy the beautiful spring weather and also as a reset; sometimes you just need a break.

Way to go getting everything done before your busy day. 🎉

@hcoleman232 , I heartily approve of your reset break! That’s the problem with being retired, you can never take a day off. 🤣

Phooey! My busy day, I got in all my mindfulness practice, but the day after, I missed my yoga. Another busy day today. My sister and BIL come for supper, and then my sister and I will go dancing! So this morning I got all my mindfulness exercises done while the house was quiet this morning.

Well… I was finally ready to get back to my Overthinking class yesterday… but the log-in isn't working and it doesn't look like it'll be fixed today, either 😜 To be continued… hopefully!

    3/15 - Rings: 1/3 Lazy day. 🤷‍♀️

    3/16 - Rings: 3/3 4.4 mile walk, Pilates: 15 min

Hydration is still far below where it should be, and the morning meetings in our area have been sporadic this month, so the poker face is going well. 😂

@takinitalloff , when I saw this post about overthinking, I thought of you. Sorry you had technical trouble trying to restart your course.

    IMG_3600.jpeg

@hcoleman232 , you’ve been working hard, so a “lazy” day also known as a rest day is part of keeping your fitness efforts sustainable. One thing I find a pain about automated trackers is that they don’t always allow for rest days. My new Fitbit will tell me to take a rest day, then scold me when I take one. 🤣

@77tes I was so absorbed in finishing a book on Saturday I didn’t even get my chores done!

@snowshoe072 👏🏻👏🏻 Great job implementing and executing your plan! And staying out of the snack area. I bought cookies on Monday and brought them to work Tuesday so I wouldn’t eat them all! 😂

    @BodyTalking {{{{{hugs}}}}} I hope you’re healing and feeling better.

    3/17 ☘️ - Rings: 3/3, 2 mile walk

    3/18 - Rings 1/3

3/19 - Rings 3/3, 2 walks today each about 1.8 miles. Started a new challenge so trying to get the rings closed early. Monday I had to keep moving while watching the news just to close the move ring. 🙄
