@BodyTalking, ouch! So sorry you’re getting hit on both ends with pain! And a cold. You definitely need a vacation after your visit. Make that mindfulness for the rest of March be restorative!

@snowshoe072, what a fabulous plan and terrific start to its implementation! Staying out of the kitchen is a good idea. Years ago, my dental hygienist suggested flossing after dinner to prevent snacking as well as making sure you remember to floss.

@hcoleman232, I can totally see being absorbed in a book and skipping chores. I used to say goodbye to my husband when I started a good book. Good job closing those rings!

@77tes Thank you for the Overthinking graphic you shared. It has some components that have already come up in the class, like focusing on what I can control right now.

Here's an interesting definition of overthinking that the teacher shared: In any situation, if I ask myself "Do I have accurate information about this?" and "Do I control this?" … and the answer to one or both questions is NO… then continuing to think about the situation without actually doing anything to change the parameters is overthinking.

Anyway… my library has used up its passes for the month, so I have to wait until April to continue watching the lectures. So I'm continuing to do the exercises that were given earlier on. The habit is forming nicely 🧘

@Interbeing , wow! That’s wonderful! Really impressive changes!

I’m very proud of myself that I’ve got back to my yoga, only missing one day so far. I’m definitely reestablishing this important daily habit and training my puppy to let me do it.

@77tes This is excellent, and will also benefit your puppy (because patience is a good skill for all of us). Way to go 😎

You're all doing well and making improvements 🫶 Well done 👏

My cold has gone, my bum pain is still niggly. I didn't do much at all last week and will be more active this week and hope the pain doesn't hinder me too much. I'll still take it easy though. I was supposed to be meeting a friend for a walk and talk yesterday but she had to cancel, so I did nothing.

Mindfully, I've tried to get focussed on some things that were put on the to-do list indefinitely. I got a few things amended and started that should have been done ages ago, a couple as long as a decade ago - change of address, updating details, important enquiries. It's actually a good feeling to do these little, but important, things. I've made a realistic must-do list - important things that I avoid - and will work my way through it. Clearing out my mind of the types of things that keep me awake or worm their way into my anxiety chamber. When we have so much going on in our lives, we tend to leave off the things that seem difficult until another day. Well, my other day/s have finally arrived and I can feel the release of pressure. I really didn't need to do this to myself - do I relish in the fear and anxiety of such medial tasks? I think so 🙂‍↕️ and I don't know why.

So, it's been a time of rest, reset and facing reality.

For my new habit of food prepping, I bought a couple of snack stacks for my husband and I. It's a nice compact size, the biggest being 150 ml, and each section fits each other so it can be mixed up, added to or reduced. We've been having an oat, raisin and chia milk pudding each morning (soaked overnight). The size is ideal for portioning nuts, dried fruit and seeds, so as not to overdo the calories. I'm tempted to get another few to prepare for a couple of days ahead.

@BodyTalking , I’m glad you’re feeling a little better. Getting things off the to-do list is a great way to improve your sleep. When we had plumbing work in February, I stuffed lots of things into my closet to keep them out of plaster dust. Every time I opened the closet, I was overwhelmed by the mess. Last week, I finally cleaned it and reorganized some of the items. Hooray !

I love your nice set of measured snack containers.

@BodyTalking I've been 🙂‍↕️ my way through what you wrote! I've also been clearing out some years/decades-old tasks I'd never gotten around to… and as the mental pile gets smaller, it really does make a difference to my anxiety/satisfaction levels. Kudos to you for recognizing this, and dealing with the fear head-on. It gets easier the more we do it 😁

As far as why we do this to ourselves… in my case it turns out I have severe ADHD. YMMV.

@Interbeing Awesome results!! Those are impressive numbers.

I helped watch the littles this weekend while mom & dad had some away time. So much fun! My workouts and ring closing took a back seat, but I got plenty of steps in. Thursday was a bust; I forgot to put the tracker on! 😳

    3/20 - Rings: 0/3 🤷‍♀️

    3/21 - Rings: 1/3 - 7,000 steps

    3/22 - Rings: 2/3 - 11,200 steps

    3/23 - Rings: 2/3 - 9,800 steps

    3/24 - Rings: 1/3 - 7,800 steps

No topics to disagree with at the morning meetings. 🙂 Winning at the poker face! 😂

The never ending to-do-list can definitely be overwhelming. Just this week my friend mentioned her new challenge was each week to complete 2 or 3 items on the list.

    Everyone’s doing really well! 👏🏻👏🏻

    @takinitalloff , very well put!

@hcoleman232 , awesome job - enjoy those grandkids - they grow up so fast! Closing the rings definitely takes a back seat. Good going on the poker face even though it’s not been tested to the full.

Snowshoe, do you use the Peloton App? Or do you have a bike and all-access? I had the chance to use a peloton at a hotel in January - the instructors are SO inspiring! I've been toying with the idea of finding a way to do some peloton classes, but a bike and a $45/mo subscription isn't in the cards.

Also, I haven't checked in for awhile, but I've been reading daily. I'm still earning 'Beginner Badges' for food-journaling, but haven't made the leap to analog journaling yet! I've been playing with a Bingo spreadsheet for tasks and goals for the last 4 weeks in a Flylady group. :p Can't seem to break up with digital !~

PS - snow here too, on the coast of Maine, snowshoe! Not as much as you. It won't be finished until Mon. Tmo should be a treat (/sarcasm) … disgusting mix of the worst kind of winter precip. Snow, sleet, rain, freezing rain. Then 50 degrees F on Monday. Sleet and freezing rain is the worst, so dangerous. Wet heavy snow followed up with rain is the 2nd worst. So hard to clear! I'd rather have not dangerous rain (no icing danger), or all snow (easy to shovel).

@snowshoe072 , wow! Got those snowshoes away too soon! Cool that the Peloton has meditation as well as exercise. I love that you know the crocus are under the snow. I can imagine how tired you are of the winter weather especially after a taste of spring.

@mkksemail , fun that you got to try out that peloton at a hotel. I wonder if that subscription has a Silver Sneakers discount?

@hcoleman232, I love to see how well you are closing those rings. Having a less active day hardly qualifies you for couch potato status. 🤣

@takinitalloff, I love that you looked carefully enough to read @snowshoe072 ‘s sign! 🤣

This weekend is all about dancing, I’ve been taking a workshop to learn how to be a better dance caller. So I’ve been very busy. 💃

Also, my puppy was spayed, so keeping her calm is a full time job! Still, I’ve been getting in my mindfulness practice. 🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶

Frankly, I’ve been sitting on the floor with the pup a lot, so I might as well stretch and do yoga while on the floor. One of the others in my dance workshop is a former ballerina, and throughout the lectures, she sat on the floor. Hmm… food for thought! ✔️
