Good morning!
We are supposed to get light rain today and tomorrow. There is a chance for a freeze Tuesday morning. I just want to be done with winter.
Connie needs to go to a new doctor on the other side of town. That means I get to drive her. Her appointment is at 8:40 this morning. They say the rain will start about 7:00. It will be OK. Connie does OK driving very locally, even to Leavenworth, but if it is in Missouri, or in southern suburban Johnson County, Kansas, she does not like to drive. I'm OK with that.
I spent over 5 hours yesterday replacing a threshold in the basement that was letting in rain water. It has probably been there for 40 years or more. I had to cut out the old screws, cut the new threshold, go to the hardware store twice for materials, including a new concrete bit, tap con screws, caulk, and crack filler foam. Ugh. It is not a project unless you have to go the the hardware store, and it is a really big project if you have to go twice. I would have been OK if I had not forgotten about the concrete bit. I have a few, but not in the size that I needed.
My rib is still hurting from Monday. I didn't help it yesterday. Not good.
Prayers continue for Sam, Joanne, and Lee. It sounds like Lee is getting great news from his doc and his PT doc.
Have a great Friday!

Mornin' gents.
Steve, you are quite the handyman. I just call "the guy" these days.
A good sleep without pain meds continues to be elusive since going back to work. I limit myself to one tramadol in the afternoon, and a 100mg gabapentin after dinner with tylenol ER, and with that regimen I usually don't get into a good sleep mode until 11 PM or 2 AM (this morning), and then I want to (and could) sleep well past the time I need to get up. The above regimen worked well before surgery, but I wonder if the extra pain meds post op and then weaning off the extra meds messed with my sleep cycle. It is more of a muscular ache in my surgery leg than actually knee pain that seems to be the issue.
Onward and downward ;-)

Good morning gentlemen.
Sorry for the aches and pains. I'm just having issues with my fingers. It hurts to pull my socks on. Not really debilitating, just annoying. My normal pain meds seem ineffective.
Hope Sam is progressing.
Going to be a beautiful day, today. Sunny, warm (for early April, anyway), just a great spring day. Hope to find some way to enjoy it.

Morning.
Heard disturbing news yesterday at piano class. Our teacher, who's been in rehab for "a fall", infact actually had a brain bleed as a result of the fall, was in ICU, had brain surgery, which didn't quite work and then had a second surgery, and is apparently not coming back to teach. Not clear where is now and how he is doing…. I'm still in shock this morning from hearing all this.
It's been a rough week; Sunday I heard my SIL's dad is very sick in the hospital with an undiagnosed illness, and Tuesday heard a good friend at Bible study group is dying, having given up on cancer treatments.
Canoe trip tomorrow with Appalachian Mtn Club, usually 5-10 paddlers, meet at a riverside parking area, drive cars to the take-out spot downstream and ride back in a van to paddle downstream. Finish up mid-late afternoon, stop for lunch somewhere along the way. There's a swamp to meander through and a few large beaver dams to ride over (YEE-HAW), a few rapids, and somebody always falls in, so there's entertainment. Weather is not looking great, chilly with rain starting around noon.
I need to get on the bandwagon with Dave. My weight is not behaving itself these days.

Good Morning
That is tough news about your Teacher, Mike.
I'm fighting some sort of bug but will push trough. The weather is much nicer but my arthritis is flaring up a bit. I am moving stiffly at times and my hands are not happy. If it doesn't improve soon I will breakdown and try some meloxicam since I still have some.
