    Rise and shine out there…

It just started snowing like crazy here…

Got in a short hike yesterday exploring the forests and fields of an abandoned prison camp from a century ago. Had a working farm and TB hospital back then, now mostly foundations hidden in undergrowth, but there's still standing a solitary confinement cellblock and a half-underground vegetable cellar, extensive hayfields the State still mows. The river there is near flooding from all the rain we had Saturday.

Got the piano put back together and playing it again. A few more things to do to it to improve the sound but those can wait for a less busy time. Lots of family things coming up—a DGD graduation, three first communions, a confirmation, several camping trips in the summer….

    Onward and downward…

    Good morning!

Mike, you do have a lot going on. Good for you!

28 degrees in Kansas City this morning, and tomorrow morning is supposed to be the coldest. Then it starts warming up.

My lawn needs to be mowed. My mower has a pretty serious oil leak. I want to see what that is about before I mow. That is today's project. I need to clean the mower first, so I can see where it is leaking. I have a rather large amount of oil on the floor of my shed. Unless the block is cracked, it should be something that I can fix myself. I know I can't wait for 2 months for a repair company to fix.

I have been very tired the last couple of days. I don't think that I'm sick, but I've been more tired than I want to be.

Prayers continue for the group. Lee, I'm happy that you were able to have a good, albeit wet, outing with your new knee.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

Hope you find the leak, Steve.

Rita has an appointment this morning for her monthly shot to prevent migraines. The medicine is obscenely expensive ($700 per shot) but seems to be working - and we don't have to pay anything. Anyway, that and a couple errands will eat up much of the day, I expect. I bought some new trail running shoes last week - my preferred footwear for hiking - and really like them. While we're on post I think I'll stop at the PX and buy another pair, if they still have them, before the price goes way up.

    Good Morning

Good to hear from Bob! Hope we hear soon from Sam, but he and Joanne's plate is more than full. Prayers continue.

Yesterday was a complete turnaround from Saturday. Rained most of the day with cooler temps. We never could get out for a walk unless we wanted to walk in the rain which I didn't. Began assembling a flat pack standing cabinet that took me back to the early days of IKEA's self assembly. Weighs a ton and has so many pieces of hardware. Mostly done, but my back was aching from all the leaning over etc. I'll finish the drawers and door this morning. My son surprised us with a note yesterday saying his car is working well and he will come up to see us on Monday. We assumed he meant next week. He meant today. So most of today will be us moving stuff around. He didn't realize we don't have a spare bed at present and would get the couch. We could get him a room since winter rates are still in place around here. That's up to Mom. Looked at my retirement accounts yesterday. Yikes.

    Chilly and wet here today.

Yes. Market is having a knee jerk reaction. Praying for a correction. Trying to not listen to financial talking heads.
