I had an unintentional rest day yesterday.
I did the 30-minute Burn Fat Fast with Improved Health this morning.

@Elfirose33 We also have a steep hill/ditch combo in our yard. No one likes to mow it. We hold out until sometime in May to give the bees 🐝 time to wake up. We planted pounds of white clover seed in that area the past couple of years as well. Ultimately, we hope to have the clover be dominated over the grass in the next few years. It's nice during the summer droughts when the yard is covered in tiny white flowers and not dead grass. 😃

Yesterday was my rest day, but I still worked up a good sweat playing trumpet at a swing band rehearsal and I held a 1 minute plank.

@Deeder522 Oh what a good idea!! I'll look into that! Thanks!

20-minute low-impact cardio with Improved Health. I wanted something a little lighter this morning, and that pretty much fit the bill if the bill included multiple rounds of jogging in place. 😳🤣
It's a nice sunny day at the moment. Looks like we're in for a nice weekend before the next temperature dip. I have a small work machine coming in. Yesterday, I finished assembling our 2nd adjustable desk that will replace the stationary ones we've had for years. These should be helpful for Ry when/if he needs to assist me.

I hope you all have good plans for the weekend. 😀

@Elfirose33 playing in a swing band sounds like an awesome workout!!

@Deeder522 not sure how jogging is low impact but way to go!! I also love the clover idea!!

On Thursday I did C25k with lapsed around the basement. Friday I did one of the Walk-Run-Lift sessions to get some resistance band training. Was ok, but there are others I like better. Today I finished week 2 of C25k outside. And forgot to hit the start workout button on my Garmin. 🤦‍♀️Oh well, at least the steps counted, lol.

Gorgeous day here so my girlfriend and I are going for a beach walk and lunch soon. Weather is iffy next week and really want to be doing the C25k outside now, so going to have to figure out a better schedule.

Yesterday I did not end up doing a HASfit workout as planned. However, yesterday I did walk Dottie 20 minutes and I did my 1 minute plank. All day yesterday I was not looking forward to doing my plank because the last two days' worth of 1-minute planks were sooo intense, but last night's 1-minute plank was actually a breeze! Such a nice surprise:)

@Deeder522 That will be so good having another adjustable desk! Enjoy the nice weekend!

@megd44 My swing band is fun for sure! It's a pretty good workout, too, I think:) Great workouts! Wow, a walk on the beach then lunch sounds wonderful! Good luck figuring out another schedule…hopefully warmer weather is making its way to you soon!

I was able to get out to a park today and 1.7 miles outside. 🥳 Some parts of the unpaved pathways were a little soggy yet, but I still had a good walk. I'm a little sluggish from the muscle relaxer I took last night for my shoulder and back area, but dang, if those things don't put me out. 🤣

Today I did not go to Step class as planned because I wasn't feeling well, but I somehow did manage to hold a 1 minute 30 second plank! It was hard to hang in there for that extra 30 seconds, but I can tell I'm getting stronger by the day.

@Deeder522 Nice walk! I hope your shoulder and back feel better soon.

Yesterday, I walked 1.3 miles at the Township Park. This morning, I did the Purple Walk and the 5-minute Energy Boost Walk.
After months of waiting, this week, our dining room wall and built-in hutch will finally be repaired after the damage from last Fall's bathroom remodel. I'm excited to get all my glassware back where it should be. Also, not having the attic air leak into the house will be helpful for all of us.

@Elfirose33 Way to Go On that Plank! That's an awesome hold!!

@Elfirose33 way to hold that plank!!

@Deeder522 great walks outside. Good news on your wall and built in too.

Yesterday I did one of Leslie's mix and match blends and added the flexibility walk for something lighter.

Today it was 51 degrees when I got up, so I did the C25k outside, using our U shaped driveway for laps, so only on the road for a few hundred feet, if that. I need to get reflective clothing is I am going to run before work. Week 3 of the app added 3 minute run segments. I got through them and didn't die, lol. Knee still holding up too. We are supposed to get a weather change tonight (maybe snow!!!) so it'll be Thursday before my next run session.

Yesterday was a plank rest day, so I took advantage of that! Walked Dottie 20 minutes. Still wasn't feeling 100% so I mostly just took it easy yesterday. Today I feel much better! Today I did 60 minutes Boot Camp, I mowed the front yard 45 minutes, I walked Dottie 20 minutes, and I held a 1 minute 40 second plank (whew!).

@Deeder522 Good walks. Hooray for all the repairs! That will be so nice when everything is all back to normal again. And thank you!! Oh my goodness, every day with that plank is such an effort now, lol! 😅

@megd44 Thank you!! All I can do is try like crazy with the planks, lol! The flexibility walk sounds nice. That's fantastic that you got to be outside!! Wow, excellent job on the 3 minute segments! Sounds intense. Glad your knee is holding up. Oh no, sorry to hear about snow in the forecast, hang in there!

Well, my workout area is temporarily my dining room while the repairs are being made. OMG!! I'm so excited. Yesterday's demo went great, the drywall and mud were up to. If everything continues to go well, we should be done tomorrow. Tyler is my new favorite person.

I'm back and walking! 😂 We had a great time walking the beach with friends and finding shells. They spend the winter in Murrells Inlet, SC which is right on the Atlantic coast and it was not … hot, so walking was a lot of fun! It was warm in the sun though. When we went to VA we visited Monticello which we had never been to before. It is a beautiful house and grounds for flower lovers. Over all, a lot of walking, which was great for me!!! However, I will not fly United again!! Awful compared to Delta. ✈️

You all have been busy! @Elfirose33 a 90 second plank???? What a role model for me to aspire to next month!!!! I bow to your greatness!!! @megd44 your C25k training is getting serious! I am thinking you are going to do it!!! @Deeder522 I KNOW Tyler is a saint if DEMO is something that any woman refers to as "went great!" 🤣 DEMO in this house means a mess for me to clean up!!! It was great to hear all your triumphs when I was gone!!! It kept me stepping toward my goals!!!

My plan for this week is a 3 mile tomorrow, 2 mile on Friday, 3 Mile on Saturday and 5 mile on Sunday. However, the neighbor that I visited in SC will be coming home Tuesday or Wednesday as her sister is being taken off a ventilator on Friday and is expected to pass away. I will be getting her house ready for her and helping her as much as I can to be ready for all the out of town guests she will have. So, if I am MIA from the plan, that is why. Such a sad Easter for them as well as having to cut their time away short. 😥 I am glad to be back though!!! 😃

Today I walked Dottie 30 minutes, I held a 1 minute 50-second plank, then completed 10 Russian Twists, each side, using two 5-lb dumbbells, and did 10 minutes Gentle Yoga 💗

@Deeder522 How exciting, and I'm so happy for you!! I love it when everything comes together:)

@zichab Welcome home, and well done! Outstanding miles logged and your vacation sounds wonderful! So glad you had a good time! Aw, thanks so much for cheering and supporting me and my planks! I still have a long way to go to reach my April end goal, but I'm going to hang in there and follow the schedule day by day. So sorry about your friend and her sister; that's such a difficult thing to go through at Easter, and at any time. I've been through a similar sort of a very difficult loss myself at Easter a couple of years ago. You are a great friend.

@Elfirose33 almost 2 minutes for your plank!?!?! AMAZING

@Deeder522 so glad to hear the demo and repair is going well.

@zichab welcome back. Sounds like an amazing time with a lot of steps, good job! And I agree with the airlines, I pretty much stick to Delta and have since we lived out west. Big difference.

Yesterday I did another mix and match blend with flexibility. Learned the hard way last week I need a lighter day after the run days. Today is a rest day. Working from my office so will get lots of steps between where I park and our office. Also doing a group lunch so a couple block walk to get it and come back. And depending on weather, plan on a hike or beach walk after dinner with hubby. Rich and i both are itching to get out after dinner. Pending weather.

Well, it snowed all day here and we have about 2 inches on the ground! 🤣 I love it, but we went to town and everyone was "over it" as they say. Spring rarely starts here until May, so I just go with it. Our ski centers are happy! ⛷️

@megd44 We always fly Delta, but their times were later than Dennis thought we'd want to travel and I told him, "Next time, I do not care if it is midnight, we fly DELTA!" United is dreadful-do not fly with them even in an emergency!

@Elfirose33 I can't remember what your goal is for April, but going from 10 seconds to almost 2 minutes in 16 days sounds like a huge achievement to me! I am going to try a plank on the last day of April and use it as my starting time for May. Most people suggest adding 10-15 seconds per week so I think that will be my pace. You are a super star 🤩 and I am NOT! 😫

Thanks for the welcome back! I missed being here!

Today I did 90 minutes Tai Chi and held a 2 minute plank. However, starting tomorrow I'm going to ease up on my plank holding times because I learned that two minutes is too much for me to do at the moment. Good to know.

@megd44 Thank you so much 😊 Good job with flexibility. I love the lighter days after the hard ones—-such a nice reward to give yourself 💜 Great walking day today on your rest day!

@zichab Fun weather you are having…I would love that! I didn't get enough of winter, even though we got more winter this year than usual. Thank you:) Your plan to try a plank the last day of April is a good one and the planking pace you mentioned is sure and stable. Oh but you are a superstar though! We all are 😊 because we're getting out there and moving, many times against the odds. It's so cool! Just a thought.

I did two boosts this time!! WOOT! Only the boosts though, no kicks or knees yet. Just feet on the ground! 🤣

Well, the snow in the woods is gone finally and there are boats on the lake! Crazy fishing people! 🚤 we still have 3 piles that might not be gone until July! 😎 We had so much snow that our snow plower had to make some pretty big piles and they are still hanging on. It has been in the upper 50s and the crocus are finally flowering and the daffodils and tulips are up. No flowers of course! The trees are not leafing out yet, but a few more days of 60+ temps and our beach, black birch, maple and paper birch trees will turn green again.

Tomorrow is my 5 mile day and Easter as well so I have spent all day cooking to be ready! My table is set and Dennis is cooking the roast. He has a new recipe and that is fine with me! I am doing fairly well on my Garmin goals. I finished one step goal and am on my last trail challenge. Even with my week off, April is ending well. Until tomorrow-😃

    Hi all,

I just wanted to pop in and say you're all doing great. The dining room work has taken all week, but we finally have a full wall and a properly built-in cubby area again. As usual, the work kicks up Ry's reaction, and he's had a few rough nights. It will be a couple of days before we move the furniture back in, but having things properly sealed up is a HUGE relief. We'd like to get some paint on the walls ASAP.
I'll have to figure out where my workouts can be done temporarily.

@Elfirose33 good job on your planks. Knowing where to stop (for now) is super important in everything. And 2 minutes is amazing!

@zichab great job with the boosts. Hope your 5 mile goes well. Virtually all of our snow is gone now...the rain helped that.

@Deeder522 Do your workouts when you can and don't stress missing some. Give yourself some grace. Especially with a big repair project.

My workout plan got shifted hard this week. Tweaked my back on Thursday, while I was tying my shoes! After 30 years I finally learned not to push it. Did stretches, some medicated lotion and anti inflammatory meds and back to normal ish yesterday. Think the exercise i have been doing helped.

So, yesterday I did the mix and match easy walk, danced around the basement with my dogs in the afternoon and then took the pups for a short hike, avoiding all the hills. Today I wanted to get the 3 mile walking weekend badge from Garmin, so I took a very leisurely stroll around our property, again avoiding hills. But I did it. 22 minute pace but feel great. Hoping to be back to the C25k tomorrow. Grateful for the sun, that it's starting to warm up and my health. Hope you all have a great week.

Thanks for posting @Deeder522 ! I was beginning to worry about Ryan and you! Glad to know it is good news and that your house is getting done!! I know it was bothering you.

@Elfirose33 I think you are supposed to take a break from the plank aren't you? Besides, Dottie needed you more! 🐩

@megd44 Don't you hate when you injure yourself doing mundane things that you have done since you were a child! Honestly it is so annoying! I hurt my back a few months ago GETTING OUT OF BED!!! How in the world cannot I not get out of bed without twisting my back! I am glad you are feeling better though and took time to baby it. I joined the Garmin Social step challenge for this week to see how it would go. There are fun things on there.

Happy Easter to all of you!!! 🐇

You are doing great @zichab with the long walks and boosts.

I did WAH Select with bands today, with some modifications. Felt good to start getting back at it. A rainy day, and lots of wind predicted. So probably no after dinner walk.

I've been making phone calls all morning and into the afternoon today. Mailed out the 1st part of the SSD paperwork. Gosh, is that nerve-wrecking and depressing all rolled together.

@megd44 The wind has been constantly blowing all day down here. Tomorrow looks like a decent chance to be outdoors.

@zichab You're putting up some great walks this month.

@Elfirose33 🤯 on those plank times! Does Dottie enjoy her little walks with you?

Friday was way too busy to get any exercising done. Some days are like that, and thankfully not very many. Saturday was also really busy, and I didn't feel well either (spring allergies, which is why I don't like spring all that well) but I did manage to mow for 40 minutes and walk Dottie 20 minutes. On Easter Sunday I rested and recovered all day, which was very helpful. Happy Easter! (late). Yesterday I hauled two 50-lb bags, one at a time, up 14 steps or so (whew!) and I mowed the back yard for 60 minutes with a self-propelled push mower. My dad was able to walk Dottie the last two days, so I didn't have to do that and I was kind of glad for the little break. Today I'm planning to clean the house and then at least get started on clearing out a back bedroom that has become a junk room. I'm thinking that will be my exercise today along with some Gentle Yoga.

@zichab Wow, excellent job with all those boosts! Yes, I'm supposed to take a break from the planks, and I was ready for one. I like what you wrote: "Dottie needed me more." I like that!

@Deeder522 Congratulations on your big project! It will be so nice to bask in the glow when it's all done. Thank you:) Yes, Dottie loves her walks and she gets really excited when I come over 😊💜 She's a senior dog and the walks help her to keep moving easier. Bummer, I can't imagine how hard that paperwork must be, it sounds just awful. Such a tough thing to face along with everything else. You're real a trooper though! And you're doing so good on your mileage and goals!

@megd44 Thank you:) Yes, I definitely needed a break from the plank. My shoulder and a big toe were starting to hurt, and not in a good way either. Oh no, so sorry to hear about your back. I hope you are feeling better now. Good job getting your 3 miles while recovering!

Finally! I completed 5 K with a Twist in it's entirety!!!! 👏 I am not ready for 4 Fast Miles with 4 boosts though. I am going to stick to 3 for now. 😉

Thanks @megd44 It feels so good to be back doing the longer walks. I know I need to add the strength part soon though and that tends to shorten my walks. I do want to do the Walk it Off Tone it Up and Walk Slim: 5 Really Big Miles walks next month, so we'll see how it goes. I am not ready for 5 Mega Miles though I know that! 😂

Oh my gosh @Elfirose33 ! I also dislike spring and frankly HATE summer! Most people think I am nuts! Spring brings all the bugs and I am already having to kill spiders and ants and we still have 2 little piles of snow!!!! Do they not know this means it is still WINTER!!! I hate bugs and spiders so much. 🚫🕷️🐜🚫 Then, summer comes with all the darn heat and humidity. I am a fall - winter girl for sure, which probably explains why I live as far north as I could get without living in Montreal! 😃🗻 Let's create a "we hate spring" club! 🤣

Good luck with the SSD application @Deeder522. I am trying to up my walking game after so long being gone. I am so grateful you hung in there with this forum when everyone else abandoned you. 😇

The plan is another 3 mile walk tomorrow, so have a good evening everyone! 😃

@Deeder522 hope the paperwork is going ok. I have friends that filed disability and I know there was a lot.

@Elfirose33 nice job balancing what you need! And cleaning can feel so good. Allergies seem to be really bad this year, sorry you are having problems and I feel you.

Great job @zichab for the 5k with a twist. Sorry about the bugs already. Ugh.

Yesterday I did the Select with Bands from WAH. I like the strength mix, but did do some modifications with my back. Going to add this as a twice weekly gig.

Today I did the WAH Easy Burn for 1 mile. Think back is good to go. And my boss and I did a walk and talk for our meeting since we were in 3 hours of meetings before and had 1.5 more to go after. 🤪 That was nice and probably about 1 mile in the sun.

@megd44 I love Leslie's Easy Burn when I am not in the mood. It is such a motivating walk. Meh, when you live in the woods, you live among critters. Winter is just so peaceful, except for the occasional mouse. 😂

Just a 3 mile walk today as I was not really feeling it. My neighbors came home and there is just too much going on tomorrow. Dennis sees his pacemaker Cardiologist and then we need to get groceries and we will be 2 hours away. It is all just a hassle I am not up to this week!!! However, I shall live! 🤣

I am not sure what my workout schedule is going to be for the next couple of days. As I said, we are going to be away most of the day and on Friday, I am prepping food while my neighbor attends her sister's funeral. I ma not get a workout in either day. If not, I'll see you all on Saturday! 🚶‍♀️

It's a lovely spring day! I ran around doing errands for most of the day. Ryan helped me build a new cabinet for the office. After dinner, I made it down to the park and pushed myself to see how fast I could walk 1 mile there. 18:36. I shaved about 1 minute off my last time. 😃 When Ryan goes with me if he can manage 1 mile, it usually takes closer to 30 minutes.
It looks like it will be a little longer until I get my indoor walking space back. We need to prime and paint the walls in the dining room. I think I can rearrange a few things and get back to the Gazelle.

Tuesday I got some house cleaning done and it was fun and mostly relaxing. There's a lot more to do, but I'm not in a hurry. Wednesday I got started working in the junk room and made some good progress. Did 80 minutes Tai Chi after that. A productive morning! My dad is feeling better these days and so he's been able to walk Dottie himself lately. Today is my rest day (even though it doesn't ever feel like a rest day) so I'll catch up with you all on Friday!

@zichab Hooray for you completing 5K with a Twist!! Count me in in your new club, good one! 🤣 Very few people in my area dislike spring, and they look at me sideways for my winter preferences. Yes, like you, I love the wonderful quiet winter brings. And the invitation to retreat, hibernate, and cozy up to a cheery fire and read a book 🧡 Hang in there today with all the goings-on.

@megd44 Thank you! I agree.. when I'm ready to do some cleaning it's really nice. I've heard, too, that the allergies are really bad this year, although I have trouble every spring. I am hoping someday I can overcome this challenge. So glad to hear you're well! Sounds like a nice walk, and a nice break from all the meetings.

@Deeder522 Excellent walk to the park, and good job getting there faster! A new cabinet sounds fun!

Yesterday I did the Easy Burn again because we had a potential donor event last night. Knew with a 12 hour days I had to pace myself. It was a grwat event, held in our teaching kitchen with a local chef who talked about the importance of eating local and in season for health. So in northwestern Michigan this time of year that means lots of root vegetables. And hoop houses mean nice greens already. He made a delicious salad with carrots, dicon (?) radishes, greens, shoots and black lentils. Yummy!

Today I did the C25k ap, going back to week 2. Felt good while I did it but back got tight after. So might not be ready for that yet.

@Elfirose33 I get what you mean when you say more to do with the cleaning. But seeing the accomplishment has got to feel great.

@zichab totally understand about critters and the woods! Hope you are doing ok with everything going on.

@Deeder522 great job with the walk. That's a big drop!!
