I have no idea how I accumulated 8 miles yesterday! I kept forgetting where I put things and had to go back and forth in my house a lot, so maybe my forgetfulness added up! 😳

Thank You @Elfirose33 and @megd44 for those excellent suggestions! I really never thought of either of them to be honest. Up here, the pine, hemlock and balsam scents happen every time I open a window and today the lake is slapping against the shoreline, so it could be mistaken for a running stream!! So I have two out of three, plus loon calls just by opening my slider where I work out!!! I need to put a picture of a mountain on my phone while I work out with my computer and I'll have all of your suggestions covered @Elfirose33! Then, I'll buy another book to add to the pile I am reading this year, so @megd44, my husband cannot complain about more books being a reward now can he!!!! This strength training thing could work out!!!! 😎

Normally, tomorrow would be a rest day, but I need to take a day off on Wednesday as Dennis and I are heading to Pittsburgh and are staying overnight this time. We are remodeling a room and have a lot of shopping to do. I'll be back tomorrow with a 3 mile walk and my laundry will just have to be worked around it! πŸ€£πŸ‘–

Yesterday I walked with Mark at the river for 60 minutes and then walked Dottie 40 minutes.

@megd44 Thank you:) Good workout! That's exciting about your garden! What are you planting? I have a little garden. I've learned by trial and error that vegetables generally don't like to grow in my garden but the herbs all love it, along with the lettuces. Anyway, this year I'm planting 10 cherry tomato plants because they were a success last year, and parsley (parsley loves my garden!) This will be my 3rd or 4th year growing parsley. We're also planting marigolds around the yard, which are great because the deer won't eat them, petunias are going in our window boxes, and vincas in the front yard 😊

@zichab Wow, 8 miles is impressive! You're so welcome:) You are blessed to be able to simply open a window to take in those delightful scents! And perfect to hear the lake slapping and loons, tooβ€”-sounds like a little bit of heaven where you are! Excellent, you are on your way! And then your reward, too, tops it off… an awesome idea, by the way, @megd44! πŸ’œ

@zichab 8 miles is amazing!! Great job. Love that you can hear waves from your home!!

@Elfirose33 we did a bunch of tomatoes, cucumbers, peas, peppers, butternut squash, red onions, two kinds of lettuce and cilantro. Will be picking up some other herbs and more peppers- hotter ones for hubby. And talking about some other things too, like kale, spinich and carrots. We'll see. Nice walks!!

I did four of the mix and match walks this morning. Going to be in the 70s and sunny today. So think an evening walk and maybe lunch stroll are in my future.

    May Goals

    Miles Tracked: 23 / 75
Apple Challenge: Close all my rings 13x 5/13

Ry had a few bad days that lasted through the weekend, and work picked up this past week.
So I'm a little low on my goals so far. This morning, we have some work being done on the garage. When that is over, we will have a level floor again. That's the big project of the month. Our new battery backup power station for the house arrived this weekend as well. This will power the house when we lose power and is peace of mind for Ry.

Everyone is doing so well on goals and check-ins this month. I LOVE IT!!!

Today is ME/CFS & Fibromyalgia Day. My Husband, Ry, has Me/CFS, and my Mom has Fibromyalgia. I've never gone into deep details about what those conditions are like, but here is a link if you're interested in scratching the surface of information.

@Deeder522 I am so sorry for Ryan. Was the cheese an issue? I am familiar with CFS as I have a friend who has it and what the page does not mention is often it is hard to be or stay friends with CFS suffers because they also have moody days or periods where they are "difficult" to get along with. I know she struggles with that because people do not understand what the fatigue and brain fog does to you over time. My sister has fibromyalgia as part of her Mitochondrial disease and she has days where even sitting very still causes her pain. Thank you for the link!

Thank you @Elfirose33 and @megd44! I wish I could say I was working toward 8 miles but it was an accident of forgetfulness really. I do not garden …. at all!!! Plants have requested that I stay away from them!!! Dennis is the gardener and he also says "Stay away from the plants!!!" 😑 I am too impatient and either over water or under water, over or under fertilize etc. I am a plant killer and they know it!!!!! 🌿🚫 I love Dollar Tree fake flowers though and they remain alive year to year!! My kind of plant!

I'll be back tomorrow with y strength workout. I am heading to Ford to get my NYS inspection and a service! Have a great afternoon and evening! 😊

I was not able to go to Boot Camp class today because we had to take my dad to some appointments. I made up for it though! This afternoon I walked Dottie 25 minutes, planted 10 cherry tomato plants, and spent at least 60 minutes cleaning out my kayak to get it ready to take out on the lake soon (can't wait!). First I hauled a 2-gallon jugful of water (and other cleaning things) down the road, then down 38 steps, then a ways cross country down to the dock. Rinsed out the inside of the kayak completely tilting it this way and that, and lifting it up vertically to drain all the water out, then cleaned it inside, outside, top, and bottom. It hasn't been this clean since it was brand new 2 years ago! 😊 I like to do this first cleaning after winter every year to alert all the spiders and any snakes that they now need to vacate the premises. And no insect likes the smell of Simple Green cleaner, a cool kayak trick. Hauled the 1 remaining gallon water back up the 38 steps, whew! Got back home and realized I still needed to do all of those lunges πŸ™„ …and 20 lunges are now done, each leg.

@megd44 Wow, that's a wonderful assortment of vegetables, and that will be so much fun! Thank you:) Good job! And that's some very nice weather you're getting, so glad for you!

@Deeder522 Oh no, so sorry for Ry. There's a lot going on for you, take good care πŸ’œ Thank you:) I'm a little familiar with Fibromyalgia, but not the other one you mentioned. I'll look at the link you shared soon.

@zichab Good workout! You're so welcome:) Oh that's so funny "…that plants have requested that you stay away from them, and they know it…" πŸ˜‚ Fake flowers are perfect and are just as pretty, and sometimes more so!

Honestly, I do not know if my arms are getting any stronger with this arm workout or not. I still can't finish the last few reps as my shoulders are killing me. UGH!!! I know, it has not been that long, but ……. ya know! πŸ™„

@Elfirose33 I am going to try that Simple Green on our canoe! πŸ›Ά Every time I roll it over in the spring it is full of spiders and other north country crawly things, which are my nemesis! I so hate them!! The power boat we clean right in the driveway in the fall to prevent mice from inhabiting during the winter, but the canoe has to be taken to the lake and I know how you feel about dragging all the stuff and the canoe to the dock to clean and take care of everything. It is not much fun. But maybe I'll deep clean it this fall as well with the Simple Green and see if I can prevent the bugs from making the canoe their home over the winter. It's worth a try. Thanks for the tip!

I will probably not have a work out tomorrow although Dennis has been talking about doing 2 miles in the hotel, so we shall see. It is a rest day for me, but 2 miles is not all that strenuous and if I can get him moving, I'll do it! If not, I'll see you all on Thursday with my second strength workout of the week where once again, I will not finish the BARRE ARMS workout! 😑

Today I took my kayak out for the first time this season, 75 minutes in all. Of course I didn't paddle that whole time, but for 75 minutes I was doing something with or for the kayak (hauling gear, sitting/floating in the lake which is an active sort of mindful "rest" to just keep the kayak balanced and stay afloat 😁 putting it in the lake/getting it back out, getting myself in/out of the kayak, lol! πŸ˜… securing it, and then climbing all those 38 steps back up again with gear, whew!) I feel muscles I haven't used in awhile 😜 It's good to be back out on the lake again, though, which always makes me smile.

@zichab I'm sure your arms are getting stronger even if you can't quite finish the reps or see anything happening just yet. As I recall from my own experience, these things take some time. And on Thursday, you may surprise yourself. But if not this Thursday, then a glorious day in the future. Take a big deep breath, let it out, and try not to be too hard on yourself. You are on your way πŸ’™ I don't know if Simple Green works to keep critters away over the winter (it's definitely worth a try!) but it sure did work todayβ€”-not a single spider in there after all the cleaning yesterday 😊

I completed the Patagonia expedition on Monday and have started the West Highland. Basically working my way through the list. Yesterday I did the Easy Burn and a flex walk. Taking a rest day today. Have also admitted that my back is not from traveling so will be going to the chiropractor tomorrow.

@Deeder522, thanks for sharing the link. I was not familiar with CFS and appreciate the info. That is a lot. Hopefully Ry is having some better days.

I am jealous @Elfirose33 that you were able to get out in your kayak. Think it is still a few weekscaway from me getting on my paddle board. But I can't wait.

Good luck with your strength training @zichab! I need to do more for sure!!

Monday - 1 Mile walk around the Farm
Tuesday - Not a blasted thing
Wednesday - Managed a .5 mile around the farm before I got rained on.

Today was a bit hectic. Took Dad in for his colonoscopy and then to lunch. Then ran errands while trying to figure out which client was really having an emergency vs what they thought was an emergency. This turned into triple-booking myself for tomorrow. πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ And I'm booked for the weekend. Oy! When it rains, it pours.

@zichab I cycle through a few different arm routines from Mik, Jessica, & Improved Health. I think my playlist on YouTube is about 20 videos. Doesn't mean I do them all but it's nice to have options.

@Elfirose33 I would agree that Kayaking starts the moment you decide to load up, from the time you pack up. I've done it once and liked it. My Father-in-law likes to fish from a kayak.

@megd44 I hope you find some relief from your Chiro visit. I wish Apple had something like your Garmin trails.

Today I did 80 minutes Tai Chi, 20 lunges (each leg), and walked Dottie 20 minutes. It hit 91 degrees here today. It's supposed to be our rainy season this month, but instead it's been hot, sunny and dry for the last week or so. I hope it rains soon! Tomorrow is my rest day so I'll catch up with you all on Friday!

@megd44 Great workout! Sorry to hear about your back. I hope you feel better after the chiropractor; they can be miracle workers! Mine sure is πŸ’› That's so cool that you paddle board! I think I'd fall right off πŸ˜‚ Sounds like fun! Paddle boarding weather will be here before you know it πŸ˜‰

@Deeder522 I hope you get a chance to put your feet up and rest tonight, sounds like a really busy day. It's so easy to overbook, have done it myself, not fun. Cool! I actually have a fishing kayak although I've never fished in it.

I DID IT!!!! I did the entire BARRE ARMS workout, abeit with 1 lb weights, but I did it!!!! WOOT WOOT!!! πŸŽ‰Dennis and I were in Lowes and I helped him load 10 sheets of sheet rock and I asked him how come I could life that but not get through an arm workout! He said, "You will!!!" and I did … today!!! I even helped him get those 10 sheets of sheet rock off the truck and into the garage!!! I need to start my own construction company!!! My arms are ready to life heavy man things!!! NOT! πŸ˜‚

I also moved to 5 pound weights for the Tone Every Zone Workout for all exercises, except the triceps kickback where I stuck with 2 pounds for now. I guess I am getting stronger slowly.

Happy Kayaking @Elfirose33! It got up to 74 here today. A few more days like this and we can go get our dock and launch our boats! We have to move our dock to a protected area in the winter as the ice blows right into our bay and destroys the docks. Also, right now there are two big trees that are right where our dock goes that washed in this spring. I have no idea where they came from, but they are big ones.

@megd44 I am so sorry your back is not healing. I thought the rest on your vacation might help. Pulled muscles can take such a long time to heal, so I hope the chiro can help.

I finished the Mount Blanc Circular and am also doing the West Highway Way now. I am working up to the Appalachian Trail!!! They are going slower now as they are getting longer.

@Deeder522 Anytime I can't find a file I want, or something does not work like I want it to … it is an EMERGENCY!!! 🀣 My husband is the King of this!!! He starts swearing and calling the iPad names and I have to stop right then and there and "fix it!" Most of the time, it is a matter of exiting the app and restarting it or closing the 25 apps he has open!!!! LOL People are funny when it comes to computers.

I'll be back tomorrow with a 4 mile walk. I feel I need it after sitting in the truck and this strength workout. Have a good evening everyone!!!! πŸ˜ƒ

I love this walk because it is so old school Leslie! No fist pumps, mini-squats, shifting, jump rope etc going on in this one. Just solid walking and it is great! BTW, considering I went to 5 pound weights yesterday, I expected a lot of muscle stiffness today, but only by biceps were a little stiff, but not a lot. I am always amazed at how fast muscles respond to weights. πŸ‹οΈ

    See you all tomorrow! πŸ˜ƒ

This week, work picked up unexpectedly. Today, I tried to play catch-up. I remembered to start my watch for my mini cleaning sprints. Last night, some big storms came through. We're fine, again, but it looks like we had at least 2 confirmed EF-0 in the area, and that number may increase. We only got wind, rain, & a whole bunch of lightning with some powerful thunder cracks
Ry's feeling a bit weak today after he had a good energy day yesterday, but he was able to leave the house for the 1st time this month.

@zichab Well, my iron levels are a bit low. So, I need to make sure I take my multi-vitamin and add in some iron-rich foods. They will retest my levels in 6 months before writing a Rx. The PA from the OB-GYN also wants me to focus on strength training and balance now that I'm in my mid-40s.

I am going to do the arms workout on Monday and then for Wednesday, I am going up to 2 pounds. We'll see how it goes.

Oh my gosh @Deeder522 definitely take iron!!!! I am a prime example of what happens if you don't. You really do not need a prescription for it. My pharmacist told me to order right from Amazon because he would have to charge me $35/100 for my RX. It's by Major Pharmaceuticals and it's called FeroSul 325MG and it's only $6.42/100 tabs.

It is hard to really get much iron from food I learned. First, it is hard to get enough HEME iron (which is the one we absorb the best) without also getting a ton of cholesterol, fat and calories (i.e. red meat, organ meat etc). Plant based iron is hard for the body to absorb so you only utilize about 50% of it. As we get older, it gets even harder for the body to absorb it, and apparently, from what I read, peri menopause also impacts your levels, although it did not seem to bother mine.

On top of that they want you to strength train!!! LOL Well girl, go for the Barre Arms workout you got me doing!!!! Now that is a strength workout!!!!! 🀣

Tomorrow is my 5 mile Sunday walk so see you all tomorrow! πŸ˜ƒ

Thursday was a rest day. Friday I did 20 lunges, each leg, and after that I took another much needed rest day. Saturday morning we walked at the river park 40 minutes, but avoided the river the best we could as it was way too windy and cold there along the river channel. Took cover from the wind by hiking the surrounding woodland walking trails. Mowed for 80 minutes, walked Dottie 25 minutes, then walked a little bit more for 15 minutes last night, not by choice but by necessity (actually climbed would be a more accurate description because this trek was almost straight uphill). Saturday was a very tiring day - and looking back on it all now - I think that was mostly because I was so tired to begin with (even though I didn't realize it at the time).

@Deeder522 Good validation about kayaking, well said, and so true! I love a good thunderstorm if they're not too severe. We're in a drought right now; hoping we get the rain they are predicting for Monday. I hope Ry feels better soon. That must've been so good for him to get out of the house for a bit 🧑

@zichab Way to GO!! I knew you could do it! πŸ’₯ Excellent job lifting all that sheet rock too!! πŸ’ͺ Hooray for 5-lb weights! Thank you:) Oh wow, you have an extra step having to move your dock each year; our dock stays in place year round. All the best with those trees that washed up. Cool, sounds like a great back to basics workout!

Wow @zichab I am not sure which I am more impressed by, getting through the routine or helping with sheet rock!! I completed the Patagonia and am also on the West Highland Way. Working my way through the list too...and yeah they take longer now.

@Deeder522 glad you made it through the storms ok. And sorry you are getting unexpectedly busy. Great job starting strength training and balance exercises now. That is huge!

@Elfirose33 I have only fallen off my board one time. I tend to stick to inland lakes, which helps. But want to try a couple of rivers by us, so that might change. LOL. Will try with a kayak first.

So, basically took all rest days until today. Back was still bothering me a lot, so just tried to get some light movement. Especially since we had an event Saturday so a six day work week. Bottom line, I was stupidly focusing on my step count streak and not listening to my body enough. Needless to say, those counts aren't so good right now.

I did get a 2 mile stroll around the house this morning. Super slow pace but feeling much better. So hopeful...

@megd44 & @Elfirose33 I have learned that if I want things done, and I NEED that room done before July, I have to carry some Sheetrock!!!!! Dennis has a torn rotator cuff so carrying things is hard for him. We are working on the lower floor so he brings the Sheetrock to the window with the tractor and I lift it in and set it by the wall. Then, I help him position it and he does all the screws! I should also add that he does all the measuring because I always get them wrong. πŸ˜… I'm his labor! πŸ‹οΈ

We had some pretty bad thunderstorms on Friday and it has rained constantly since then. We need to get our boat in the water as we may need it if this keeps up! 🀣 Our fire danger has gone from high to low though so that is comforting when you live surrounded by trees! 🌲🌲🌲😳

@megd44 I feel so bad for you. Your back has definitely put a crimp in your C25K plans and you were working so hard on that. I have heard that back pulls can take a long time to heal, but I was hoping you would mend fairly quickly since you are so active. The Garmin challenges can push you, which they are designed to do, but sometimes, pushing is not good. I actually changed my step goal from "automatic" to 10,000 steps a day because they kept increasing my goal every day and it just got too high for me. I cannot be moving every minute of the day! Set your goal to what you can do and then increase it as you get stronger.

@Elfirose33 It is amazing how tired we can be without realizing it when we are going and going all the time. However, I added up all your times and you were walking for 160 minutes and if we assume you were doing a 15 minute mile, which is average walking speed, you walked 10 miles yesterday JUST doing those things. That does not count the walking you did just living life! I am not surprised you were tired! 😴 10 miles is exhausting!!!

Tomorrow is my aerobic rest day, but I need to do the BARRE ARMS Workout, so I'll be here for that. Have a great Sunday evening! πŸ˜ƒ

Today I worked in the garden and the yard for at least 3 hours. I planted 15 or so marigolds in the back garden bed, pulled weeds, watered everything, hauled rocks, raked and bagged old leaves, and planted rosemary and peppermint. Getting started on all this was hard, but once I got going it became fun. Hopefully we get some rain tonight and tomorrow.

@megd44 Cool! You are good with the paddle board. It took me several failures (completely tipping over) before I finally learned how to get into and out of my kayak from our dock, lol! Paddle boarders always look so graceful, and you all make it look so easy:) Wow, rivers. That sounds like a challenge. So very sorry to hear about your back bothering. Glad you are feeling better. I hope you continue to feel better and better πŸ’œ

@zichab You and Dennis are a great team with sheet rock! Wow, thank you for adding up all my times! And wow, 160 minutes being 10 miles sounds amazing. That all feels right, too, I was SO exhausted and wiped out. Thank you for figuring all that out! That is really good to know and validating πŸ’›

Happy Monday! My Birthday is this week. Yesterday, I had my birthday lunch with my aunts, which included my favorite pie, French silk. Last night, 2 friends joined me for the Lantern Festival at the Zoo. If you happen to see a Lantern Festival near you, I highly recommend it. I didn't sleep well last night, so I'm extra sluggish today, so I'll be taking it easy. Perhaps a short walk to get things going. Maybe I can push for the Barre Arm workout with the lightest weights I have.

I took about 100 pictures while at the Festival. I thought I'd share this 1 bird with you all.

@zichab that is a great system with the tractor and windows and all. But that is still a LOT on you. Impressive.

@Elfirose33 we had a very rudimentary version of paddle boards in the Traverse City area in the early 80s. So doing something very similar gave me a big leg up. I have never done a river, so we'll see what happens. Needs to judge the current and depth first. I am awful at getting into a kayak from a dock, so fully expect to get dumped.

@Deeder522 what an amazing lantern Thank you so much for sharing that. I hope you have a wonderful birthday πŸŽ‚ πŸ₯³ πŸŽ‰.

Thanks all for your wishes and support. Feeling a lot better in the ladt couple of days. Just need to be better at listening to my body. I am usually pretty good, but sometimes I try to push through/too hard. But lesson learned.

Did another slow stroll around the house with the equivalent of 1.5 miles while listening to a Spotify 80s mix. Making it fun at least. Hope to be back at it this weekend.

Yesterday I walked Dottie twice: once in the morning 25 minutes and again in the evening 20 minutes. 20 lunges done, each leg.

@Deeder522 Happy Birthday this week!! Sounds like you've been having a little bit of fun for your birthday, so glad! You deserve it! Cool photo, looks very festive.

@megd44 Cool! I finally learned to get into/out of the kayak by sitting down into it by way of the dock ladder, and getting back out the same way πŸ˜„ Not as graceful and certainly more humble, but it's a good arm workout lowering myself down and raising myself back up. And the water level from the dock is continually fluctuating, too, so the dock ladder is always great! My neighbor friend very gracefully just steps into her kayak from her dock, making it look so easy, just like a swan would do it! Every time I've tried that, I've rolled the kayak over with me in it πŸ˜‚ I can't figure out how she does that? Her husband once tried launching his kayak, while sitting in it direct from their dock, and that was a complete bust! The kayak went into a nosedive straight down into the lake 🀣 I never tire laughing over that one! πŸ˜‚ He rescued me from trying out that method πŸ˜† Oops, sorry, I didn't intend intend to write a novel today πŸ˜„. Oh good to hear, so glad to hear you're feeling better πŸ’œ That's a tough one listening to the body, and I'm doing good with that one right now too, but I haven't always. Good job! An 80s mix sounds fun!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY @Deeder522 !!!! πŸŽ‚πŸ·πŸΈοΈπŸΉπŸΊ (you're choice) πŸ₯‚πŸŽ Enjoy your Day!!!! I love the lantern! How beautiful!

More sheet rocking today and this stuff was heavier than regular, so I am glad I am strength training! πŸ’ͺ Part of the room we are remodeling is below grade and Dennis always likes to use mold and mildew resistant sheet rock on those walls and that stuff is HEAVY!!!! Holy Moley!!! I can't believe he has lifted that stuff all his life with no issue!!! Regular sheet rock is no joke, but this stuff is …… solid! πŸ˜…

Thanks @Elfirose33 Since his stent, valve, pace maker and two knee replacements have been done, he is feeling so much better and a busy Dennis is a happy Dennis as he has never been one to sit round. But, he is very out of shape from 2 years of dealing with one health issue after another, so he wants to do this stuff, but he needs help with the labor, so we have to be a team to make it happen. I am afraid he is going to want to get the dock and launch the boat as soon as it gets warm and I have no idea how we will do that. I cannot lift those dock pipes and set them deep enough to hold the dock and I do not think he can either. Hopefully, he is willing to wait for our sons to be here.

Tomorrow is my arm WO and 4mile walk so until then-enjoy your evenings! πŸ˜ƒ

@Elfirose33 the picture of your neighbor nose diving is perfect. When it warms up here enough for me to try the river, I'll let you know how it goes. Assuming I will dump myself in from the park dock, so it needs to be a LOT warmer for me.

Docks are tough @zichab. My siblings bought one we call "the old people's dock" several years ago. I don't miss the poles at all.

Did another stroll around the house to the 80s mix this morning fir about 40 minutes. Garmin says 1.93 miles. I'll take it. Hoping to do a WAH session tomorrow, probably an easier one. We'll see.

The rain continues, but I managed to do a 10-minute Power Up Walk with Jessica Smith and followed that up with a 10-minute strength and balance session with Improved Health.

@zichab I picked up some of those mold/mildew-resistant boards last year. They are heavy, no joke. That being said, I'd probably redo each room remodel with those now.

@Elfirose33 In my home county, the Park system has Kayak ramps/launches. It's basically a metal ramp with rollers that you place your kayak on and slide into the water. Much more graceful entrance. πŸ˜†

@megd44 80s Mixes are usually my go-to as well.

I skipped the Barre Arms workout today as my biceps, triceps and shoulders are sore from moving to 5 pound weights for the Tone Every Zone workout yesterday. I did not want to add to it even though I only use 1 lb weights right now for those exercises. Friday is soon enough.

@megd44 we have a very easy dock to maneuver, but we have to move it about 3/4 mile behind an island to protect it from the ice sheet slamming into it in the spring winds. Then we have to bring it back, when the water is warm enough to be safe (usually early June). This was easy when Dennis was younger, but I have issues with the pipes and he can't really keep his balance on the dock to do it. I have no idea how we will do it this year to be honest . We have a pipe puller to get them out, but that does not help getting them in! πŸ™„

My favorite band to walk to is Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers!!! How can you stroll when listening to Runnin Down a dream, I Won't Back Down, Refugee, Don't Come Around Here No More etc?????? He is the man for sure!!!!

Tomorrow is strength again and I hope I will be ready after grocery shopping! πŸ˜ƒ

Wow @zichab that is major work! My oldest sister (67) said she hired someone this year to get the dock in. Could that be an option for you and Dennis?

Keeping up with the 80s strolls. 2 miles for 42 minutes. So a LOT slower pace than a month ago but I am still moving and getting my 11k steps in again, so I'll take it!

Today, I needed the 20 minute walk segment because my legs were a little shaky after all the squats and lunges in the strength section. I usually do OK with that, but I think today, with riding in the truck for over an hour, my legs were a little rubbery.

@megd44 We would LOVE to hire someone to put the dock in and take it out, BUT, there is no one up here any more that wants to do that kind of work. We can barely find people to plow our snow! Our neighbors help a little, but they are both in their 70s just like us. The hardest part of living up here is finding people to do anything. It is very frustrating.

Oh my gosh the rain!! β˜”οΈ Is it ever going to end!! We will have two nice days next week. Other than that, it is rain every day all through next week! Also today, the temp is 43F with a real feel of 33F!!!! This morning when we went shopping, the real feel was 27F!!!!! 😨 If it is going to be this cold, it had better SNOW!!!! 😳

Tomorrow I have a 4 mile walk planned, but we shall see how my legs are. It might get shortened to 3! 🀣

Wednesday I was not able to go to Tai Chi because I've been working with the hospital (my dad got admitted on Monday) and we've been engaged in doing all kinds of time-consuming things related to that like bringing overlooked/needed things to him, taking care of his home and his dog and cat, spending time with him there at the hospital, reaching out and responding to all the many concerned phone calls of friends, family, and neighbors. We are so blessed! But, whew, it's been a week! My schedule has had to all be rearranged, as well, all week. I walked Dottie 20 minutes this morning and 20 minutes this afternoon, but I completely forgot to do my lunges today with all the other goings-on. On Thursday I went to work hoping for a sort of "rest" compared to all the other days this weekβ€”-but no, it was one of the busiest, most challenging days there I have ever had - a real humdinger - so I forgot again about getting my lunges caught up. When it rains, it pours! As they say.

@zichab Wow, extra heavy sheet rock in the way you described is super extra credit! πŸ’ͺ Well done! It's great Dennis is wanting to move around more now like he always did and I'm so glad he's feeling better! Teamwork is the best, a winning combination, and very gratifying πŸ’› I'm so glad you have each other!

@megd44 I would love that! I'll be looking forward to hearing all about your river paddling adventures! :) And yep, that would totally be me too. That is, dumping myself in from the dock, love that! 😁 Great job strolling around the house, sounds like fun with the 80s mix!

@Deeder522 Excellent job with your workouts in spite of the rain! I've seen those very cool kayak launch rollers and ramps in action before, and oh my goodness, that would be sooo amazing! And graceful πŸ˜…

@zichab Oh wow, that is some serious rain! I wish we would get rain like that, even if just for a whole day. But here, it never even rains for a whole day, only off and on πŸ˜•. Hang in there with all the rain and cold temps πŸ’™
