Hello and welcome to this month’s edition of the Ultimate Accountability Challenge (UAC).

😁 To all new and returning members:
We are happy to have you with us! We invite you to introduce yourself below. Please feel free to include as much information as you feel comfortable sharing about yourself. We look forward to getting to know you a little better. Any questions, please ask any group member. We hope you enjoy your time here.

❓New here? Click the spoiler to learn how this group works. (Rules and other info.)

❗As a UAC member, you will:
Be accountable to yourself in your own health journey.
Post every day in that day's check-in thread. Look for the check-in threads on the Ultimate Accountability group page: scroll down past the ANNOUNCEMENTS threads until you see DISCUSSIONS. When you check in for the day, please state whether you followed each of the three daily rules below; and include your tally of pass days for the month. (Scroll down to learn about pass days.)
Be honest with your check-ins. If you cheat, you are only hurting yourself. Our group exists not to police each other, but to provide a friendly environment for learning, self-improvement, and mutual support ❤️

❗ The 3 daily rules:
EXERCISE EVERY DAY FOR AT LEAST 20 MINUTES. We define exercise as an intentional and planned choice to be active beyond your "run of the mill" day to day activities. This can be chair yoga, physiotherapy, running, swimming, aerobics, weight-lifting, dancing, vacuuming, washing windows, or anything else that gets your body moving beyond your general daily movement. You can do a mix of activities, and you do not have to do all 20 minutes at once.
CONSUME ONLY YOUR BUDGETED CALORIES. Set your own personal calorie goal for the day, and don't exceed it. (Yes you may "eat back exercise calories" if you wish.) Any day that you went over what you planned, it is considered a pass day. We are happy to help if you would like help figuring out how to set a calorie goal for yourself.
TRACK ALL THE CALORIES YOU EAT AND DRINK. How you choose to track is up to you: you may use a paper tracker or journal, MyFitnessPal, another app/website, or any other (online or offline) tool that works for you. And, you guessed it: anytime you skip a day, for any reason, it is a pass day. Please note: Some folks fret about finding an "exact" match on their tracker. We encourage you to find the best possible match and if in doubt about a meal or snack when dining out, overestimate.
❗ Rule #4:
Each member is expected to report in within three days of each check-in day. This is to help us build helpful new habits through daily consistency. You may check in later if needed, but this counts as a pass day. If you do need to check in late, you are free to post a combined check-in to catch up.

❓ What's a pass day?
Whenever you do not observe all 4 UAC rules, any day, for any reason, that day is considered a pass day. Pass days can happen due to injury/illness, emotional eating, lack of planning, family issues, busy schedule, forgetfulness, vacations/celebrations, hormone fluctuations, "didn't feel up to it," or a myriad of other reasons. We will never judge anyone for taking a pass day: they exist as a tool for you to keep track, and learn where you can improve.

🏆 The UAC celebrates its Winners every month!
A Winner is a member who had 3 or fewer pass days during the previous month. This is a noble and fun goal to strive for, but please know that Winner status is NOT necessary for you to meet your health goals. We also celebrate our Champions, who exceeded their monthly pass day limit but continued to check in every day of the month. And last but not least, even if you find yourself struggling, as long as you are here we consider you a Learner, and that is your first step to a better future! So always count those pass days, always aim to improve, and -- most importantly -- keep coming back every day.

👋😁 To all new and returning members:
We are happy to have you with us! We invite you to introduce yourself below. Please feel free to include as much information as you feel comfortable sharing about yourself. We look forward to getting to know you a little better. Any questions, please ask any group member. We hope you enjoy your time here.

❓ Quick hints to help you navigate the group:

Please do NOT open any threads in the Discussion area: they will be deleted. Discussions are set up as one post per day of the month. If you have questions please ask in the daily thread, or in the What's on your mind today? thread.

Click the little flag icon in the top right corner of any thread that interests you. When the flag is blue, you will receive a notification anytime someone posts to the thread. To unsubscribe, simply click the flag again to turn it white. Please note: there is currently a technical issue with this function. You can still bookmark, but you have to go into each thread and then bookmark it… MFP says they will fix this issue, but probably not right away. The easiest work-around is to right-click each day’s thread from the list (opening each day in a separate tab) and then hit the subscribe flag on each thread, closing the tabs as you go.
You can use the "Quote" function at the bottom of every post in this group, to copy what someone previously wrote and then respond to it.

If you would like to respond directly to what another group member wrote, add an @ right in front of their username, like so: @username (This will tag the person you are responding to by turning their username into a blue hyperlink, and they will receive a notification.)

In order to see whether someone has tagged you, click/tap the bell in the top right hand corner of your screen, and check your notifications. If you are using the app, first access Community mode, then tap your avatar in the top right corner, then tap the bell. (You must have notifications turned on.)

Privacy Note: This challenge group is open for public viewing until the end of day on the 6th of the month when it is set to "private". From that point forward, and for all time, all the postings made in that month become private and are only accessible to individuals who were registered as members of that month.

Hey everyone! I’m Charissa, your friendly Welcome Committee 😋

I’ve been with UAC for over two years now—and I absolutely love this community. The support, motivation, and wisdom here are second to none. Whether I’m hitting my goals or navigating a rough patch, this group always keeps me grounded and inspired.

💬 To our new members—welcome aboard! You're in for a journey filled with encouragement, accountability, and powerful insights. So glad you’re here!
💪 To our longtime members—cheers to your dedication and commitment. I’m so glad we’re still on this ride together.

A little about me: I’m 64, and like many of you, I’ve seen the scale creep up slowly—over the last 30 years in my case. I started 2023 strong, but major life changes (as life tends to bring!) knocked me off course heading into 2024. Some shifts were tough, others were beautiful blessings—but all of them made consistency harder. As of now, I’m 3 lbs up from where I started this year.

But I’m here and I’m ready to turn the tide and rock this challenge, right alongside all of you!

Feeling excited, motivated, and focused. Let’s make this month amazing—can’t wait to celebrate the success stories ahead.

    Good luck to all! 🍀

Welcome to the June UAC – we’re happy that you’ve joined us! 🎉
When you have a moment, drop a quick hello and share a little about you, your goals, or what brought you to UAC. We’d love to get to know you!

Feel free to explore and get familiar with everything UAC has to offer. Be sure to check out the rules (don’t worry—they’re simple!) and the helpful info pinned at the top.

It might seem like a lot at first, but you’re not alone—if you have any questions, just ask. We’re here to help and support you on your journey!

Hi all, I've been a part of the UAC for just under two years now and I love this group so much 😍

Since joining MFP and the UAC, I've been working on changing my life in various ways: finding exercise activities I actually enjoy (yay water fitness!). Learning how to fuel my body and mind with the food I eat, rather than using it as an emotional crutch. Changing how I interact with friends and family, instead of relying on food to get me through social activities.

Currently I'm working on developing a mindfulness practice for peace of mind. I also recently joined the Biggest Loser Challenge here on MFP, to re-focus my weight loss progress. So far, so good! Let's see what June brings 😁

I look forward to seeing you all in the daily check-in threads.

Hey @Dory_42~ Good to see you back again!

@Fancy0626 ~ Congrats on the new puppy!! What kind, pictures are permissible!

@Learningmoments... I'm not sure if I realized you have 6 grands (or maybe I just forgot)! Amazing and FUN!

@takinitalloff ~ I did forget that you jumped into the BLC this round. I enjoy the variety of it all. Good luck to you, here and there!

Happy Saturday Everyone, I'm Sarah and after being on unemployment since the end of Feb I start my new job in the store this coming Wed. For the next 2 weeks I work evening shift so will post before I leave since I'll have my computer shut down.

    Hi all,

This is my fourth month with UAC and I'm really enjoying it so far! I'm trying to keep my head on straight and take my time with this. I did a 16 week cut and now I have about 1.5 weeks left of a 4 week refeed, then back to a deficit. I mostly powerlift and walk for exercise, but my job is also fairly active. I am also always inconsistently rehabing some injuries, which is probably why it's taking so long 😂

@Fancy0626 Caution with vshred. I've seen some really awful advice from him and a lot of promoted content that's contrary to current evidence.

“Welcome” to all new members, and “hello friends” to those who, like me, have come back for more friendship, advice, and accountability!

I am Joanne, a 71 year old retired librarian, who lives in a small rural community in Alberta, Canada. I love to read and garden. I craft a little, and do jigsaw puzzles to fill the long winter days. My household consists of myself, my husband, our adorable dog, Lili, one adult daughter and her partner, and their dog, Kona. Our other daughter, and her family live close by - lucky me! I see my two grandkids almost every day!

I try to eat a balanced diet, and am active in yoga, Pilates, bike riding, walking, gardening, cross-country skiing, and playing with the grandkids every chance I get! I am pretty close to my goal weight now, but I need the accountability this group provides to keep me on track, and not let the number on the scale start to creep back up. I seem to always be battling with 5-10 pounds, which doesn’t sound like much, but I am determined to not go beyond that, and to stay at the lower end of that margin. This group is definitely helping me with that!

Good morning! I am Elsien, live in southern France and have been on MFP for some 15 years.

I've been in and out of UAC since 2018, with my weight topping 82.4 kg at some point (I'm 1m 68cm) but I have now done over a year on MFP (398-day streak today), building healthy habits and have lost more than 15 kg. For four months I managed to maintain my ideal weight of between 61.5 and 62.5 kg, but after a trip to UK the scales stopped at 63.5 kg and during last month's stay in Italy I fluctuated between that and 62.5 kg, so my aim for June is to get back and remain between 61.5 and 62.5 kg, which is when I feel at my best.

A big hi to my other fellow health travellers and welcome to new members. Never give up!

Hi, I am bON from Texas. Like @Chinkiri I think i have been on MFP almost 15 years and UAC at least 6 or 7. I was struggling with whether to join this month as Friday I tripped and bruised my foot pretty badly. But then I thought to myself THAT IS WHAT THE UAC is for. Don't just mope about but figure out how to accomodate the injury and keep up. So here I am.

Hi @Chinkiri I have also watched you come and go and your journey with your alz partner 🥹 thru the years. I am glad you have found a balance in your life and are in maintenance.

As far as Bandit, he passed in Dec of 2021 at the ripe age (for a horse I think) of 29. After so long 26 yrs! it was a struggle to change my activity as I was so used to going to the barn after work. But I decided to go back to tennis and walking so that I did not turn into a couch potato. As of now my desire to own another horse has been very little. I think of my relationship with Bandit as one of the most important non family ones in my life. and in some ways more than family.

    Hi everyone,

Happy first day of June! I'm so grateful to be part of this group! My weigh-in day is Wednesday. I will post my weight and stats beginning Wednesday, June 4th, but I will also check out the rules and other guidelines.

My highest weight was 217 lbs. on 2/29/2008. I got down to my goal weight of 140, but right now I weigh about 165. I hope to lose 20-30 lbs. by the end of this year.

Very best wishes on your wellness journey!🌹

    💗 Carole

Good luck, Carole @Walela617 , do-able but a tough goal. Took me from March last year until November to get from 73 kg, roughly where you are now, down to 63.5 kg, where you want to get to. Dedication, commitment and support in this community got me there. Never give up!

Hi. I have been a long time member of MFP and I am new to this group. I am starting today to track my food and be consistent with my meals and my exercise. My weigh ins are Monday. I will post updated stats then. I am focusing on first losing 5% of current body weight to start and continue this process until my goal weight of 160. I do a lot of strength training and I want to build my endurance with cardio and flexibility with stretching. Good Luck to everyone.

Welcome to the June UAC – we’re happy that you’ve joined us! 🎉

Kudos on starting to track your food and being consistent with exercise… UAC can help with this!

Be sure to check out the rules (don’t worry—they’re simple!) and the helpful info pinned at the top. Note, at a minimum, you do need to check-in post at every 3 days to be eligible for a winner or champion status at the end of the month.

Hi - so appreciate this group, the focus on actions (instead of weighins) and the thoughtful/optional conversations.

Dietician referred us to MFP for the tracker, and is moving us to a DASH food exchange plan without tracking. She wants us to focus on food types and number of servings/exchanges eaten across the day.

Just as a summer cold hit hubby which he shared with me. It has kind of stopped the process with appetite and sick food days. Not doing exchanges or tracking really… lots of hot veggie broth soups and teas and naps.

Hope to be around more when getting back to regular eating and may just lurk a bit for now.

TY, itladyee! I've been working my way up to participating in the challenges I dropped out of, when I injured my knee at the end of the summer '23. I thought I was ready for this one last month, but I wasn't. Maybe this month! I'll get there :)

    Hello @DamnShortie

    Welcome to UAC! 🎉

When you get a moment, jump in and say hi—tell us a little about your journey, your goals, or how you found your way to UAC. Take a few minutes to look around and get familiar with what this group has to offer. Be sure to check out the rules (they’re simple and straightforward!) and browse the helpful info posted at the top.

We know it might feel like a lot at first, but you’re not alone—if you have any questions, just ask. We’re here to support you!

Since you joined after the 6th of the month, you won’t be eligible for Champion or Winner status until the July UAC. But please don’t let that stop you from jumping in and taking full advantage of everything the group offers. This is truly the heart of the challenge: building healthy habits that last—and the best time to start is right now.
