    Good morning!

Dave, that was such a beautiful picture you posted! What a beautiful and wonderful place to hike. Wow!

I have to get a small surface filling this morning at the dentist. Then, it will be working on the front stoop project. I am placing roughly 5 12x12 pavers and gluing everything to the front step. This is to hide where the sidewalk has sunk over the years. Our house is almost 50 years old, and we have lived here almost 30 years. I saw two small snakes when starting to lay out the pavers last night. I don't know what kind they were. I hope not to run into a nest of them today while digging to level the pavers. I will also have to cut at least three of the pavers with an angle grinder.

Hot and humid again. I get sweaty in less than 10 minutes when working outside. I'll go through three shirts or more in a day of being in and out of the heat.

    Prayers for Joanne continue.

    Have a great day!

    Mornin'

Had some rain overnight. Need to pack for camping trip tomorrow, three nights in the scrub pine forest of outer Cape Cod. Half mile hike to the ocean beaches there. Should be a nice time if rain holds off. I got some simple breakfast and lunch things yesterday: variety of instant oatmeal packets, nuts and dried fruit; tuna and chicken in foil packs and bagels (which keep well), granola bars, etc. Dinners we may just go out to eat at a pizza shop or whatever. Will probably be a dozen of us altogether, I think.

Dave, spectacular hike you did. I noticed the snow on the high peaks there, in July—do you know what elevation they are?

Finally got rid piano chaos, had parts all over my small condo and yesterday got it all put back together so life can get back to "normal", which is a relief. Still have to tune it and make adjustments to the playing mechanism, but that can wait.

Should call my eye doctor, have been having little flashes of light when I move eyes quickly left or right, like I had a few years ago. Strangely it only happens in the morning and goes away the rest of the day…

Steve, good luck with the snakes, the heat, the ticks… How's the truck? Did you get it fixed?

    Have a good day everyone.

    Good morning gentlemen.

Rita has an appointment this morning, for her monthly anti-migraine shot. A neighbor with a yard business will come by while we're out, to clean our gutters and spread moss preventive on the roof. Yes, that is a thing we do out here.

Mike, the peaks in that photo of the Olympics are all around 7,000 feet. High point of my hike was about 4,700. Snow through the summer is normal, here. Our glaciers are shrinking but we still have a lot of them.

When I was foreman of a fire crew for the Oregon State Forestry, we once found a nest of snake eggs an old sawdust pile. We brought them back to the crew house in a jar and watched them hatch a couple days later. They were gopher snakes. We released the little guys in the ditch across the road.

    Good Morning

I seemed to have missed checking in yesterday, apologies. I wasn't feeling great between my stomach and tight and sore hip/back. I had PT in the early afternoon which was helpful. He did a chiropractic/inquisition maneuver where he pulled and twisted my torso a couple times after assessing me. Then I was fine and could walk normally and do my workout. I decided to ignore my upset stomach and headed down to River Roasters for a cuppa and sat out on the patio sipping and staring out over the river. I haven't been able to get in there due to the July 4th influx of tourists and vacationers. Hit the Farmers Market on the way home. Today I need to make progress on what I didn't do yesterday. Heather comes home Friday so it is time to get it together. Lovely low 60's weather here. I don't miss my old California weather at all.

    Good Afternoon,

    Physical torture this morning,

DW only has one more appointment this week.

Next door neighbor bringing supper tonight.

Need to trim some shrubs but will wait till I can get out early morning, more than likely Friday or Saturday. Continues HOT and HUMID as usual this time of year, could use some rain.

We will stay away from other side of lake till August because of number of folks and how busy everything is on that side. Most of our schools start back August 1. More variety of restaurants on that side.
