Weigh in day Saturday
Previous weight 183.2 lbs
Current weight 182.3 lbs
I'm back in work after 6 weeks of holidays and it has been hard being on my feet again all day but I survived the first week! I am hoping moving around more will help the holiday weigh come off ( it usually does)
I have gone to the gym for my strength training, done some at home too and got a couple of runs in this week. I need to start doing some yoga again as I am getting stiff. My friend would like us to enter a half marathon and I am quite tempted to give it a try

Can I be excused from the steps for the moment as my fitbit is not working. I don't always have my phone on me to count steps.

Hi guys! Im ready to come back!
I'm 5 1/2 weeks post-op from my plantar fasciitis surgery and Gastrocnemius recession (calf muscle lengthening). Recovery hasn't been too bad. I was in a cam boot for 4 weeks. And I just started PT. But im getting around pretty well (and doing more than I should be some days!).
The crazy thing is, is before my surgery, I tried really hard for 9 weeks straight by only eating breakfast lunch and dinner. No sweets or chips. Getting 8-12k steps a day. But lost 3 pounds that whole time. Then the last 5 weeks I gained 12 pounds. Its insane π³ lol. I've also been having night sweats since winter and been kind of grumpy lately. Thinking it may be perimenopause (my mom went through it young as well).
So anyway my new starting weight is 237. My goal is 200 for now, then maybe 180-190

Week 2 weigh in-
168.8
Its my first time on this challenge and I didnt realize that weighing in on Sunday meant that I weighed in on the first day of the challenge.Lesson learned, next time select sat as the weigh in day so it actually feels like I have the time to make progress!
1 -
@kakemery - Luckily, since our numbers move through from month to month, it only matters for your first week of the challenge. Next month, you'll still have a week from your last weigh-in of the previous month to the first weigh-in of the new month. Do you feel like you were able to make relevant progress over the past week??

Weigh In Day: Monday

Well, I didn't want to have a gain, but I know I ate the wrong things! Hoping to try and have a better week! I've started some new meds, I really really do need to do better, I have very high triglycerides and my bad cholesterol is high and my good is bad so I really need to do better. My biggest struggle are the sweets. I really want to find some recipes for sweets that are still sweet to me, but get that craving satisfied! I do not want to go back to 220! I need to keep going down!

@Zumba_Luvah - Welcome back! I've added you back to our weight-loss team. Are you still planning on weighing in on Saturdays, or would a different day serve you better today?
@CassieGetsFit2013 - You've made so much incredible progress, a little gain isn't going to slow you down. Besides, starting new meds typically means an increase in water weight while your body figures out how to process the new chemicals, so I am positive that the majority of this extra weight is water stored in your organs. As for sweets, are there fruits you particularly like? What flavors do you typically go for in desserts?

@minstrelofsarcasm Thank you! I'll stick to Saturdays please!

Weigh in day: Monday
CW: 274.9
PW: 270.9Oof, that's a big gain. I am hoping it's a blip and will come back down next week. (Logically I know I didn't overeat by enough calories to gain 4 whole pounds, so I am sure it is water/food.) I thoroughly enjoyed my sister's wedding on Saturday, had a nice meal, a couple of drinks and some cake but spent a lot of the 24 hours beforehand being busy, setting up the venue and not really eating enough, actually. I am le tired!
Goals for this week are to get back on track with eating high protein + fiber, 4+ servings of fruits and veggies per day, and drinking enough water.

@kakemery - Understandable! Sometimes I see every tiny gain as a personal failing, and it takes a bit to talk myself out of that. Weighing in week-to-week is a great way to know where you are and how your body changes over time, but it's also a horrible indicator of actual progress - the human body LOVES holding onto water whenever conditions change (which is almost always), and the number on the scale only tells us so much. Do you use any non-weight measurements to track yourself?

@Emilienewme - I am always so impressed by your step counts, how do you manage to consistently walk so much during the week?

@minstrelofsarcasm actually it is not that difficult to get there for me because I don't have an office job.
I work in a school and do 1h in breakfast club supervising the kids, then from 9am to 2pm I am working in the school kitchen (with my watch around my ankle so I am not sure it is picking up all my steps). By the time I finish I already have between 5-6000 steps.
Then 4 times a week my daughter is ice skating. My fitness was getting quite poor from not having time for myself because I was always back and forth to some kids after school activities, so now I walk around the top of the ice rink chatting to some other mums and watching my daughter.
I also try to run at least twice a week even if it is just a short one so that helps with the step count too.
When my son was in the little orchestra I used to walk or run as well, or when he was doing taekwondo I joined the class with him.
It's about finding time to fit things in and still be there for the family. My mental health is a lot better for it

Hey everyone, I've been kind of absent for a long time and feel that I need to step away for a while. Life is taking over and I can't take the time to commit to what's needed here, ie lose weight, more steps, challenge participation, being supportive.
Sorry π«Ά
I wish you all much success in life and health and hope to catch up another time π
If anyone's interested in connecting elsewhere, I'm on Facebook, Blue Sky and X as MairiDesign and on Instagram as MairiDesign1 and BodyTalking50. I'm on and off active though.

@BodyTalking - Absolutely understandable, I can move you to the droplist. Thanks for being part of Team Weight No More! It has been lovely having you, and I hope you know that you are welcome back whenever/ifever you're ready. I'll send you a follow on Instagram just so we can keep in touch π

@Emilienewme - Ah! That would do it. Getting frequent movement in is one of the reasons I miss being in food service. The work itself was rough and tedious, but I don't think my calves ever looked better and it was wonderful getting that built-in steady-state cardio. Now I have to set alarms and make it a point to get up from my desk multiple times a day, even if just to do a lap around the office.

I think once Iβm back at work my steps will go up more. I am only walking 30 minutes on the treadmill and then not getting much more done throughout the day. I have been doing pt for my back and itβs feeling better just a little sore. Hoping I can get back to myself. I miss walking for miles and taking Zumba classes. I quit my job the other day. I did take a part time job so I am going to work on my self. I am hoping to get something full time. I do have an interview today. We will see how it goes.

Alright folks, it is that time again, here are all the weigh-ins I am missing:
Earlier this Week:
Today:
Tomorrow:
Friendly reminder that two weeks of not weighing-in in a row will lead to being removed from the team, so be sure to say something if you need to be excused!

Really happy with this. The weekly focus on protein has been really helpful.
I have started my Garmin half marathon training plan and so far so good (the longest run for week 1 is 4 miles so it's not too scary yet)
