    Morning gang

    Headed to the farmers market in a bit then Ron has a massage. Housekeeper comes at 4 so need to find somewhere to go for a couple of hours.

    Need to start planning our route from Houston to Florida. With a stop to get windshield fixed. We had planned Nola with Dad and Missy but she texted yesterday and are worried to be in big cities right now. We should also visit Ron's dad in Clearwater while we are nearby.

    And I've made zero plans in Chile. Saw a super neat tour via train to Patagonia but it's $13 k each for 22 days. Slightly outta budget. So I might try to recreate at least part of that.

    So, Skip, are you looking forward to the new iPhone 17?

    I remember the days when a 12-hour day was my normal - interspersed with occasional deployments where the normal was a 16-hour day, with no weekends. I couldn't hang with that now.

    I'm looking forward to your travels, Steph. I live vicariously through my globe-trotting friends.

    • Feeling better but still groggy. Yes, I remember those 'swallowing razor blades' moments.
    • I think I had what you had Skip but milder.
    • Steph, I would recommend getting off I-10 in Mississippi and taking US90 along the beach. Towns like Gulfport, Biloxi, Ocean Springs and Pascagoula are worth seeing. I spent a year of my life at Keesler AFB in Biloxi. Pleasant memories. In Florida Port St. Joe, Apalachicola and St. Georgia Island are off the beaten path and represent old Florida. From there I would take US98 all the way to Clearwater, assuming you aren't in a hurry.
    • I'm guessing Skip will have an iPhone 17 very soon.

    Joanne had a good visit at UCBC today, starts radiation September 17th

    Talked with nursing home about taking DMIL, will have to take Joanne to see it, I have visited folks there so am familiar with it. They do not have a bed now but expect they will next week.

    DDIL still in hospital with preeclampsia, told today she will remain in hospital till baby is delivered.

    Insurance would not allow me to use audiologist I've seen for last 10 years; after talking to 4 companies, I have an appointment tomorrow in town 35 miles north of us.

    Glad you are beginning to feel some better Skip and Dennis. I have had jobs that required me work long hours, could not hold up today; did enjoy the challenge and various duties back then.
