Great weekend with DS#2. We did a lot of catching up and he really enjoyed spending time with the girls. He is starting to miss the country life.
DS#2 went back to the city Saturday, I got up early to go pike fishing on a nearby lake. Ka-blooey. Tire exploded while going 35 mph on a relatively smoothly paved rural route. NOBODY stopped to see if I needed help. I didn't, but in the 90 minutes it took me to remove the salt encrusted lug nuts on the blown out tire wheel and the spare, and then finding out the spare was flat as well (thankfully had a electric air pumped stowed in truck), at least 30 cars whizzed by. I am seriously disappointed in my marine mechanic's attention to detail so far as my trailer is concerned.
Bob cracked me up with the Do-re-me lyrics.
Ate too much with DS#2. Back to tracking today.
Onward and downward ;-)

Good morning!
Lee, it is sad that nobody offered to help you. Lucky you had that pump in the truck. I sometimes worry because I don't have a spare for my truck, but I'm careful not to get too far away from AAA. Did you go fishing, or did you just turn around and go home?
It is still supposed to be very hot and humid for at least two more days, then we might get some rain with cooler temps. I still want to do some work outside. I can't do much out there with the heat. After about 30-45 minutes, I'm done.
I have several things that I can work on inside today. I have not figured out what to work on first. I will eat breakfast and work out on the treadmill first. I have walked or run on the treadmill for 15 straight days now. I have been very slowly adding running back in. It feels awesome to run again. Today's workout is a schedule run. These runs are walk/run designed to just get started with it again. So far, so good.
Prayers of healing continue for Sam's family, and for you other men for your various aches, pains, and other health concerns.
Have a great day!

Morning…
Lee, not a fun morning with a rusted on tire and flat spare. Did you ever finally make it to the lake?
Never made it to the hike I imagined yesterday. I think getting up and going first thing is the best approach. Otherwise distracting things happen and the day is over.
My Connecticut cousin called me out of the blue yesterday and we caught up on things a little bit. We lived next door to each other when we were growing up. Last time I saw her was at my 50th highschool reunion 8 years ago, and every few years we talk on the phone. She says we are getting old, but I don't know about that…
Time for me coffee…

Good morning gentlemen.
Somehow, I never checked in yesterday.
Glad you had the air pump, Lee. Sad that no one stopped to see if you needed help. Yesterday a woman mashed her car into our front bumper in a parking lot. When she came out of the store and I pointed out what she had done she acted mad at me, especially after I asked for her insurance information. As I told her, everything was probably OK, but with the electronics they put in the front bumper these days a small bump can cause expensive problems. She never did apologize for hitting our car. Signs of the times, I guess. I asked her to have a nice day, when we parted, and she just glared at me. It ended up there was no damage, but still …
Have to get the grandkids off to school this morning. With DGD now in middle school, that means getting them to two places, four miles apart. Reverse that in the afternoon. Their parents are in the Buckhorn Wilderness in the Olympic Mountains. They have deer and elk tags for the high alpine hunting season that starts this morning.

Good Morning
I see that I too, neglected to check in yesterday. I suppose the days of people stopping to see if aid is needed are over which is sad. We went off to Sound of Music yesterday since I had the days wrong. I forgot how long that movie is. But we had a great time. We both remember going to a major theater in Queens, I think, to see it when young. My 2nd weekly group Dulcimer lesson is in a few hours. After that I need to get to the store for groceries. I haven't been very productive lately so today I will try to shift that.

Wow Lee sorry about the flats. I too now carry an electric pump in my Subaru. We also bought run-flat tires for my wife's Nissan Leaf. there is no spare in the Leaf NADA, ZILCH. Great. Good reason to use run-flat tires there.
I too am sad that folks don't stop to help quite as much as they use too. I have had folks from nearby farms come and help me out of a deepish mud puddle out in the country and not worry too much about their shoes in the muck etc.
Not hot nor humid here. We did finally get over 0.5" of rain shower yesterday morning at my house. Only 45cold degrees this morning and maybe up to 88degrees or so tomorrow.
The only animal I tagged this morning was not a deer or an elk but………wait for it! A mouse in our neighborhood walk-thru path. I went home to get disposable gloves and a plastic bag for that teensy body. It was dead before I came upon it.
We have enjoyed the Sound of Music and enjoyed hearing the real life relatives of the Von Trapp family singing locally in the PDX area.
