Good morning, Skip, welcome back— Long time no see!

(((Steve, Connie))), no pain like that of loosing a son or daughter. Should never happen to anyone.

Cold night of frost here. Will warm up later; Sunday we're getting a nor-easter, rain rain rain for a few days, and then more the end of the week.

I need to get my @$$ in gear and do my taxes before the 15th, plus need to get my suit altered for DS's wedding in 2 weeks, not to mention a wedding present and booking a room on Cape Cod. And lord knows what else I am forgetting.

At piano class yesterday one of the women told us she had major surgery, feels great now but they found cancer in the tissue so she's going to be starting chemotherapy. Says she'll keep coming to class if she can, because she gets such a lift from making music on the piano.

Bill, hope you're feeling better soon.

My belt closes on the next smaller hole since being back from camping. Onward and downward.

    Good morning!

Skip, thank you so much for stopping by. I am honored that you remember, and I thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers. Mike, thank you also for remembering. Today marks 15 years since our children were taken from us. It is still very hard.

I don't know why Connie made a doctor appointment for today, but she did. It is across town, so I will be driving her. I don't know if I will do the final sand and prime today on the ceiling cracks. My arms and shoulders can really feel the reaching up and my knees know there have been ladders involved. I would like to start to put this behind me, especially the sanding, so I'll likely finish it after we get home from the doctor.

Since the kids were killed, every year Connie has donated six winter coats, socks and gloves to the elementary school that Jacob went to. She said that today she wanted to run them by the school. The school has said that there is always a need, especially in these paycheck to paycheck times. We are pleased that we can do this in Jacob's memory.

Dave, Bill, prayers continue for your healing. Also remembering Joanne in prayer.

    Have a great day!

Dave, I forgot to thank you for the neat advice on the filter/fan. I will remember that tip. We also have a Sans whole house air cleaner, and a smaller air cleaner that I've been using. One final sanding today and it will be a light sanding. The two large cracks that I covered in two different spots on the ceiling are looking good. I also saved several hundred dollars, so that helps make it worth it. I need to tell Connie that my payment is something for my truck. :)

    Mornin' gents.

Honoring Jake and Stephanie today. Donations like Connie's will ensure some children will be warm and dry.

    Thanks for the start, Skip.

Just curious, how many gears does your @$$ have, Mike? Congrats on your NSV.

I got really depressed yesterday after screwing up handling Babe in yesterday's field trial and binged on turkey meatballs, baked in marinara and mozzarella in a fresh 12 inch sub roll when I got home. Blew up all my points for yesterday and the week. She had a very nice go under the first judge and was having a good run under the second judge when I lost her in the high grass. According the outside or wing gun, she picked up a running pheasant and took it down the course. We saw the bird fly a 100 yds in the distance. If I had seen what was going on, I could have gone with her and made it legitimate, but as it happened, the judge had to score it as an out of control dog. Frustrating.

    Guess I should fast today.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

(((Steve and Connie))) Your tragedy has always struck very close to home because Jake and Stephanie were almost the same age as our son and daughter in law.

The nose doc was a resident (it is a teaching hospital). He offered to "pop" my noise back straight. I declined. The attending physician came in and urged the same. I declined again. They were really disappointed. I think they were looking on me as a teaching moment. Since my breathing is unaffected, I think the barely noticeable bump and bend will just add character.

If everything went perfectly every time, Lee, where would the challenge be? And I'll bet Babe didn't mind your error in the least.

    Good Morning

What a surprise start to the thread!

On this day we hold you Steve along with Connie close. There are no words but to let you know you are loved.

I seem to be fully recovered this morning from that nasty stomach bug I picked up. I took it easy yesterday and was still careful about eating and drinking but today feel normal again. I am off to the Urologist this morning for my 6mos cancer check in. Blood work was good so it should be a short one. I will try a small cup of coffee and go sit by the river and be still, perhaps I will begin my reading. I was too tired yesterday. Gray day out there as the next weather system draws near. Either way, I need to get moving again after running around on all Tuesday and being couch bound for 2 days.

Prayers for Steve and Connie, It is always hard to lose a loved one especially a child; know that God comforts all who call upon him.

Went by to check on DMIL, she is doing much better; believe it is mainly because she is eating better and getting more attention.

DDIL says they are bringing Charlotte by our house in the morning. DS will help move some furniture for me.
