Good morning!
43 this morning. We might get a little bit of fall yet before diving right into winter. It was still warm and muggy yesterday. Today's high is to be in the low to mid 60s. That is about right. It should be good for fans at the Chiefs/Raiders game this afternoon.
Church this morning and Chiefs this afternoon. Sunday rest day.
Prayers continue for Bob and for Joanne.
Have a great day!

Mornin' gents.
Early exit from the trial. Old girl was looking good, but Lady Luck abandoned us in the first series. Sadly, running trials is a little bit of a gamble in spite of the efforts to make it an even playing field for each dog. Sometimes birds won't fly or move and that is what happened to Babe, after she picked it up and brought it to me, it died as I handed it to the judge…not good. The dog should not harm the bird, and although the bird did not appear damaged, she must have squeezed it enough to kill it.
So I drove home and did a bit of grocery shopping at Aldi's and ran into a Chiropractor I used once and often referred people to. Brought home some atlantic salmon fillets and berries for my non fat greek yogurt.
Photo shoot was good…check it out.

This middle aged house could use some of your handiness, Steve.
Rooting for the Mariners now. Sorry, Bob, I detest the Dodgers, but Ohtani is doing some amazing stuff. Brian Cashman needs to go, not Aaron Boone, but I think they come as a set. Cashman is too "Money Ball" with the teams' approach to hitting analytics and it actually makes the Yankees vulnerable to other teams' pitching.
Huge mixed green salad last night along with salmon. M used to make us a big salad every night, but as a bachelor, sometimes I just want to heat something I prepped ahead of time and don't make a salad when I get home. I found that the size of salad most of us eat doesn't have near the fiber content that you would think it would, a regular sized potato actually has more fiber than the average sized salad. And restaurants tend to overdress salads with lots of fat calories, which kind of negates the benefit of eating a salad, right? My dressings are mostly lemon juice or a nice vinegar, with a wee bit of EVOO and various seasonings over 4-6 cups of mixed greens, red onion, and tomatoes.

Got in a late hike in the woods yesterday, in the Audubon sanctuary two towns west of here. Colorful trees, but the brook was dry and the waterfalls just a trickle. Went 2-1/2 miles incl. 200' down the half mile of falls and back up. Arrived back at the car at sunset. I try to do warm up stretching for 5 minutes and then yoga-like stretching of legs afterwards; better for the heart I think but don't always take the time for it.
My alma mater, where DGS is a football player (now a junior) and DSIL a fitness coach, finally won its first game this season. Worst record in memory, but nowhere to go but up, as they say.
Church this morning, then will catch a piano concert in Ashburnham this afternoon. Getting better at tracking food, need to focus on sticking to meal times for eating.
Onward and downward.

Good morning gentlemen.
DGS' soccer team won again - undefeated for the year with one more game. Andrew is not one of the team's stars, but he has a lot of fun.
Hoping Mariners can finish off Toronto tonight. I agree with you on the Dodgers, Lee. I dislike them only a little bit less than I dislike your Yankees. I still like both you and Bob, though.

Good Morning
I'm from NY and grew up around the Yankees & Giants. I was bred to detest the Dodgers. In LA I rooted for the Angels and in SF the chant was always Beat LA. They are scum.
Lee, that is quite a photo spread. That should draw some interest.
A beautiful day yesterday, but two hours on my feet on uneven ground left me stiff and sore. Feeling better today. We are supposed to be having rain today, and it obviously got some in the night, but now they are saying we are done with rain for a bit. Not sure about the day today. Perhaps I will head up to the sand art exhibit I skipped yesterday. Heather & Pat went and loved it.

Gosh sorry about your dog trials gone wrong Lee. Salads and Salmon sound great. I keep my salad simple and don't overdress it. At restaurants I order dressing on the side for sure when possible, Yeah it was the flip of a coin that got me with the Brooklyn Dodgers in the Dodgers vs Yankees 1955 world series. I am not usually a sport hater kinda guy. And luv em or not that was THE most amazing performance of all time. I will be good with Seattle where my son lives if they should be so lucky as to get in the World Series but would like to see a good series. I likely will root for Seattle should they get past Toronto. I do want them to play well anyway.
In my first attendance of a major league game Sandy Koufax struck out 18 batters tying the all time record at the time on Aug 31, 1959. We had a baseball from that game but my brother and I played on the street too much with it and eventually lost it.
Sounds like a wonderful hike Mike!!!
Congrats on your DGS' soccer success Dave.
Just nursing my lousy wrist w the 16 stitches and wallowing in self-pity best I can!
Hope Joanne continues to get better and that her skin recovers pronto!!
cheers all!
