Good morning!
We grew up calling today All Saints Day.
I had a rough night sleeping last night. My running had been going so well. Now with the colder weather, the combined muscle soreness from all of the increased activity, along with very sharp arthritis pain is too much. I'm sad because I'm realizing at 65, I am likely giving up the running for good. It is simply too much pain.
I cooked burgers on the grill last night. It took a little longer in the 50ish degree temp. We may be about finished with that for the season too. I have a blanket for the grill. I can generally cook on the grill when the temps are above 40.
I forgot that I have a doctor appointment on Tuesday. This is my annual physical. I forgot to take the blood test this week. I hope that taking the blood test on Monday is not too late. Sigh….
Prayers for Joanne and for DMIL.
Have a great day!

Good morning, gentlemen.
We went over to DS house last night. It poured outside. I declined to walk around with the grandkids. Stayed at their house to pass out candy, but they only had three groups of trick-or-treaters come around. The grandkids brought back a mountain of candy.
Grandson has two soccer games today, at 9 and 1:30. To add to the steady rain there is now a wind advisory. Thank heaven for full rainsuits.

I had zero trick or treaters last night, same as the last 16 years here. The wind outside got really rough for awhile and then suddenly the lights went out and it got REALLY dark in my place. I had to feel my way along walls to where I thought I had a headlamp and then the lights came back on. Lasted only a couple of minutes. Dug out two battery lanterns and walked around with the headlamp in my pocket till bedtime. Set up my CPAP battery in case it happened again, but that was all it was.
Good luck Lee with the open house today.
Three GKs soccer games and a football game in different places all at almost the same time. Would go to the FB game but he just got over a concussion and says he won't be going in. Long drive to the soccer games.
Steve, hope you can get in some good exercise; tough when pain gets to be a real pain.
My church still celebrates All Saints Day today. Long ago was called All Hallows, and the evening before was Hallows Evening.

Yea I think I gave up running younger than you Steve with some sort of small achilles tear. Ahhh "burgers on the grill" "burgers on the grill" sounds like a pop song .
Yea we didn't try to pass out candy in our aging neighborhood and saw ONE possibly TWO trick-treaters out there in the rain. MY DD had fun as some of her students showed up at her fabulous halloween display with something like 40+ pumpkins lining the drive into the woods in this flag lot with a dedicated small forest. We went the dry night before for a party and preview. that was great.
Boy do I ever remember going to soccer games here in the pouring rain when our kids were young.
Having a "Scorpio B-day" party for all those friends with recent birthdays tonight including my 80th Birth day to be. Actually turn 80 on Nov 9th but having several parties, one with DW's best friend with just the 3 of us.
cheers

Good Afternoon,
We only had about 130 kids last night, mostly younger kids. High school had a football game which kept older kids busy.
Guys, some of us are beginning to get old.
I stopped running several years ago but one still needs to walk and exercise no matter the pain; extends life.

Good Morning
Prayers for Sam’s DMIL as her time seems to be approaching and especially for Joanne.
I gave up running just before my 61st birthday when I injured my calf at the end of my training for the 2014 California Marathon. Dr showed me the bone on bone xray, the advanced arthritic degeneration and let me know a knee replacement would be happening at some point.
Last night we (as in Heather) only had to answer the door 3-4 times. Mostly young teens. Pumplin carving was a bust. They fancy pumpkins they bought were too rock hard to carve and I don’t own a sawzall. A mad rush to 4 different stores to find regular carving pumpkins ended in failure. 4 days ago they were everywhere. Florence has community level trick or treat options scheduled throught the afternoon and early evening. Heavy wind and rain today, a good day to stay in. We have an all day outing planned tomorrow, but it is supposed to stop by then.
