Turned back my ten battery and wind-up clocks this morning. Plus there's two I picked up and never was able to repair. Soccer game was good, though DGS sat out most of first half because he had hurt his knee the night before. After warming up on the sideline he seemed fine and the coach put him in, and second half he played goalie. They won 2-0. Season closed.
28º this morning. Church, then a hike somewhere…

Good morning!
We had our first real "hard" freeze this morning at 25 degrees. It is supposed to warm up again and be in the 60s & 70s this week with lows in the upper 30s and 40s.
Church this morning and Chiefs/Bills this afternoon.
Have a great day!

Good morning, gentlemen.
Rain poured through DGS' first game, yesterday morning, along with a cold wind. My raingear eventually failed, so we were pretty wet by the end. His team played well, but the other side scored in the closing minutes, so grandson felt a loss for the first time this year. In the second game, in the afternoon, the rain stopped and Andrew's team won easily. They have a third game, this morning, but I am the lay reader at church, so will miss the soccer game.

Mornin gents.
Bird bath has a layer of ice…does that constitute as a hard frost?
What a great way for DGS's season to end with him coming off the bench to play goalie and his team winning the game with a shut out.
My old girl, Babe, took second in another trial under challenging conditions. It seems that the tougher the conditions, the better she performs. Anyway, she finished her points for her all age Field Championship which makes her a double champion with her already having her Amateur Field Champion title. M says I should let her retire and just let her be a hunting dog.
Good first day of house on the market with a very interested party. Open house with another showing today.
Onward and downward ;-)

Good Mornings
Congratulations to Babe!
It was a tough sports day for me yesterday. My Golden State Warriors laid a huge egg, The stinkin' dodgers won the World Series, and my saving grace was watching the Beavers playing hard to take down Washington State and re-energizing their season. Today is my youngest son's 38th birthday. He wants to head north to Newport to see the Yaquina Head Lighthouse and then explore either Devils Churn or Thor's Hammer. It will be partly sunny and a bit on the cool side, but a fairly nice day to do some exploring. I also want to see the old lighthouse at Newport. They have reset the light and lens structure back on top after a long restoration. It should be a fun day. I will partake of a small piece of the cake/brownie sundae concoction he and his other dreamed up.

Well my big B-day party last night was fun. We had 11 people total and had our own small room at a local dining place. We actually celebrated a bunch of B-days of folks there. I likely had too much red wine but meted it out over the evening so wasn't typsy and not driving anyway.
No freezes or frosts here yet.
Congrats Mike on DGS soccer game.
Congrats to Babe in her Field Trials!!!
Yeah sorry about Toronto fans. It was an amazing series for sure. Toronto has a great team and certainly didn't play like any underdog. Unexpected heroics got the title for the Dodgers by folks who don't hit homers much.
Congrats to the Oregon State Beavers in their win over Washington State.
Bye week for Oregon Ducks who have a hard road ahead in the Big Ten even though they don't play Ohio State. Lots of tough teams and Iowa is not really a slouch. Iowa's only Big Ten loss was to Indiana by 5 points and Indiana is either number one or number two in the country right now and quite good.
cheers
