🍄 100 day life reset 🍄

Good morning Shape Shifters. Another cold and windy morning. I decided to just start my walk from home, didn't feel like biking somewhere first. Weights at the gym before lunch which went well. I am however going to switch my gym days around. I always go to the gym at 14:00 but they recently started an hour for kids to workout (a group class) at 14:45 on Tuesday, however some kids already show up at 14:15 and get noisy and annoying. This time the whole group flooded into the main gym room to use the cardio machines. It was pretty annoying and loud, so I will be moving to Monday instead. I prefer going at the same time every day and since there is a senior hour at 13:00, I would have to go at 12:00 on Tuesday which is a little too early so Monday it is. Anyway, I felt a bit tired the whole day, but I managed to get everything done. I got a package in the evening with new snacks and treats for Tinus, a glow in the dark unicorn blanket, a big scratch carrot and an adorable salt and pepper shaker set for myself. I won't be using them for that; they will just sit on the shelf by my desk and look cute.

Good morning Shape Shifters. A grey day here, but it was dry and a lot less windy so that was totally fine with me. I walked in the forest and picked some of my favourite trails to make a new route. Ended up being a little longer than expected, but more steps doesn't hurt. I got two pairs of new shoes delivered 15 minutes before I had to go to the gym. One pair I specifically got for the gym and the other one for walking (mostly for indoors). I decided to test the gym pair right away and I did my cardio workout in them. The shoes were very comfortable and fit well. They also gave me more support than my old pair so I am happy with them. They were good for walking on the treadmill too and I am sure they will be great for my weights workout as well. I will probably test the other pair on Friday. The cardio workout was very challenging (25 min bike & 25 min cross trainer) and I really did not enjoy it. I think 25 minutes is too long to suffer on one machine. I have to do this one more time and then next week I will drop back to 20 minutes, but with 1 minute blocks of extra intensity/effort. My stamina still feels very bad, so all this nonsense better be worth it! I did some laundry when I got home and otherwise just relaxed.

Hello, Shape Shifters! Here’s my weekly weigh-in report —
Weigh-in day: Thursday
PW: 143.9
CW: 143.0SW: 168
LtD: 25I’m staying at my brother’s house and he has an analog scale with less detail than my digital scale at home. So, I’ll have to report round numbers this week and next week. The scale seemed to read 142 but it’s hard to tell the gradation level when looking down at the lines with my old eyes. So, I’d rather err on the side of caution. Since his scale is not precise, and it’s highly unlikely that I lost almost two pounds in one week, I’m going with 143. It’s rewarding for me to see a 25 pound loss. Have a great week, everyone!

Last week, @LaurieWrobo shared some reflection questions with us. I’m going to post my reflections periodically throughout the month — one question at a time. Here’s the first question on the list:
What moment, event or achievement of 2025 are you most proud of?
For me, it was nice to see my son graduate from college in May but that’s really his accomplishment. So, I’ll say paying off his student loans right away is a satisfying achievement.
Finishing the marathon in October felt like a milestone accomplishment but I’d like to run one more marathon to apply all the lessons I learned. I didn’t train properly and it took me a long time to finish, I walked most of miles 17-20, etc. So, I’m planning to run the original marathon route in Greece — Marathon to Athens — with my nephews (& probably my younger son) in November 2027.
There are probably some achievements that make me feel prouder than these examples but they’re harder to explain — setting healthier relationship boundaries, and standing up for myself instead of trying to please everyone, comes to mind. It’s harder to pinpoint a moment but, in the end, I think that kind of growth is more important than some of the more socially-validated “big” accomplishments.
What makes you all feel proud?

Garmin just gave me this summary "Year in Review". I'm wondering why they did this now instead of a month from now. Maybe it's something new, and they'll repeat it each month.

Gorgeous picture! The moon was beautiful over the ocean in Boston tonight, too — so full and high in the sky!

Good morning Shape Shifters. Started my day with an outdoor walk again, surprise. It felt like I was the only one in the forest; just me, the birds and 3 roedeer. I had fun. Had my weights workout at the gym which went well and the shoes worked out well too. My food choices were a little questionable (cookies), but my calories were still good so I can live with that. I was pretty tired so I went to bed early after some gaming and reading. Happy Friday 🍀

I'm content with where my weight ended up this week.
I know everyone on the message boards is very adamant that you don't need to workout to lose weight and this may be a controversial statement, but for me, I absolutely do. I just NEVER lose weight if I'm not doing any higher intensity workouts (usually running for me). The extra calories burned is enough to push into weight loss. I've been walking a lot, getting somewhere between 17,000 and 20,000 (sometimes more) steps most days, but that just doesn't burn the calories. I've tried everything I can think of with my diet.
The injury to my calf has turned out to take quite a while to heal, it's been hurting since the half marathon at the end of October. It's slowly starting to feel better, and I'm hoping to be able to get back to running in a couple of weeks (dreading the New Year resolution-ers that will flood the gym at the beginning of the year, but that's about when I'm guessing I'll be able to go again).

Friday weigh-in
PW: 121.4
CW: 119.6Happy Friday team! While it seems like the rest of the world is freezing and shoveling, I’m sitting by the pool and enjoying the morning. Florida winter makes those unbearable summer months totally worth it! Planning on doing some water aerobics and working on my tan. My husband and I are heading to South Beach next week for a little staycation. I’m really looking forward to having my feet in the sand, swimming in the ocean, having a margarita on the beach, and reading my book for book club! Can’t wait! Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!
