Do you name your bikes?

If so, what are their names?

Mine are as follows...
Road: Oby 2 Kenobi (first bike was named Oberon, aka "Oby," after one of my favorite beers)
CX: Little Rock - after the spunky little chick in Zombieland. Also because a CX bike is the ideal vehicle for surviving the zombie apocalypse.
Mtn.: Vera - After a fictional gun (Jayne's favorite gun in Firefly/Serenity). Funny, since I don't even like guns, but it just seemed fitting, for some reason.

Love the names zoom! I need to get with it, I have only named one bike so far, and that is my restored Schwinn Traveller. I call it Aquabike...you might imagine why:

My first road bike was Chip because of a paint issue.
My current road bike is Gina for Gina Lolabrigida 'cause she's a wicked hot Italian chick (Bianchi Sempre 105)
My commuter is nameless which makes me sad, but the bike has not told me the name yet. It's a Jamis Coda and I love riding it. Just no name yet.... it'll come.

Hey, Broadsword, where did you get a bar end mirror in white? I have one like that in black, but I think white would look much nicer on my road ride.

Oddly enough, no. I don't name bikes. I had enough trouble naming my sons with my wife. I find this interesting though. Maybe I should...

Heya zoom, I am a huge fan of the Sprintech bar end mirrors. I have em in black on most of my bikes with drop bars. For Aquabike, though, I needed white because of the white bar tape, so I found some on Amazon. Not sure if this is the same vendor, but I just saw them there in a search: http://www.amazon.com/Sprintech-Drop-Mirror-White-Pair/dp/B0028YBQQI

Yes, I most certainly do...It would be rude not to
SS mountain bike 1= Juan he only has Juan gear
SS mountain bike 2= Merle...its an old Merlin
Track bike (before she was stolen)= Sweetly...thats how she rode
Fixie 1= My Lita....because she eats the miles
Fixie 2= Spam.. it was pink, now blue and yellow,
Fixie 3 (beater/pub bike) = Bitsy... made of all the bits I had accumulated.
    My BMX= Peggy

that is all the full bikes I own there are a lot of disassembled bikes which need putting together or on ebay.

Heh, my first car had HSM on the license plate, so I called it "her sweet machine." Or "her sluggish machine," which was more fitting.

Next car was a "boysenberry blue" Ford Escort. My best friend dubbed it Grimace, like the purple blobby thing from McDonald's -- it was fitting!

Current car is a '06 Mazda 3 hatchback. We named it Dash, after the zippy little guy in The Incredibles. He pretty much lives up to his name.

Hubby's car is an older white Mazda 626 and rides like an old woman's car, so we call her Pearl. His previous car was Zeke, since the license plate had ZK.

My bikes have several names each - mainly said when I get a puncture or other problem!

The Trek is sometimes called the yellow peril as is a rather striking colour

    Same principle as dcmat...
no names for my bikes yet but my classic Triumph Herald was called many unrepeatable things when it broke down...its names became more unrepeatable depending on how inconvenient or downright dangerous the break down situation was. I miss that car.

So I will now be working on names for my bicycles...some ideas come to mind...

Battaglin Start = "Heartstopper" (after it's slick Vittoria tyres that are very very slippy in the wet)
Specialized Rockhopper Comp = "Bonecruncher" (because my old bones are not up to the situations this bike can easilly cope with)
Specialized Crosstrail Comp = "Lazydays" (because you can ride all day on this bike in most conditions and come back smiling)
and my old trusty Raleigh Amazon = "RSJ" (Rolled Steel Joist , because its made of them and weights about the same)

That is very funny, I love Jayne and Firefly!

I don't name my bikes, well the old Cannondale I call "Crack-N-Fail" but that is a Cannondale wide nick name, supposed to be a slur I guess, but I think it is funny

Otherwise I just call them what they are, the Mixer and the Lrrb

    I guess I'm not very imaginative:blushing:

I name my restored woodworking tools, my large resaw bandsaw is called Big Blue, my drill press is Kermit and my hand built bandsaw is The Phoenix..... if that counts? :drinker:

So my hubby just put the word in to our LBS that he wants his Mukluk (he's been lusting after this ever since they first announced it, and he is due for a new bike). He has already named him/her "Fluffy."
