So Freedom's been released and CoX is now free to play (with paid account extras and purchasable goodies)...
Old players can come back and play their old characters for free.
New players can try it out.
Occasional players can come and just play with their friends every once in a while.
So... What's your global name? What server(s) do you play on (mostly)? Do you have a "main"?

Umm... if you can't tell from my global names, LOL, my main is Siberian Spring; a soviet superhero, science based abilities unlocked by a dimensional transporter accident.

I've never played this game but have grown interested in testing it out. How do you like it and why?0

I LOVE it. Been playing for almost 5 years now.
The costume creator is fantastic... and costumes are NOT tied to powers/abilities.
The number of potential power combinations/playstyles is HUGE.
There are WoW style raids with 48 character "leagues", and 2 to 8 player teams, but you can level up completely by yourself without any difficulty if that's what you prefer... or use any combination you like.
Supergroups (guilds) with unlimited potential for bases.0 -

This was actually one of the first MMOs I played (after SW:G). It fell by the wayside when I got into WoW. I'll have to download and try again.
Geez, between this and DC Universe becoming free to play, I'm in trouble.0 -
OMG I played this yearssssss ago after DAOC (Dark age of camelot my true love) Having a crazy week but I bet hubby and I would love to come back for a bit (We're playing JD now b/c that's free and love it there) but would be nice to visit. (Once I can fig out accnt info)

If you're anything like me (and a whole bunch of other peeps), be prepared to budget a couple of hours or so for the costume creator. :bigsmile:0 -
Hehe I played CoH and CoV for years, I even ran an SG for a long time, but alas, after like 4 years, I got tired of it, but with the F2P I might come back and check it out again. I'm a big LOTRO guy now, but I'm not averse to playing 2. I think I was on Freedom (hard to remember, it's been about 2 years now).0

Haha well with only a 'premium' accnt I'm not sure what I'll have access too as far as costumes go. My main person doesn't look like herself anyways? I don't remember that being her costume, can't log in yet anyhow...Luckily my main self wasn't someone who you have to pay monthly to play (controller/mindbender..not sure if there are others)
I already confused the heck out of myself last nite with this accounts merging, global server assigning stuff and ended up putting my main on Liberty (where it used to be) in retrospect I probably should have moved myself on a more populated server since it seems like you can move 2x free? Confused lol. Then I had an idiotic freak out moment where I thought I was banned (b/c they merged my main accnt INTO my COV accnt) So I finally get to the charachter screen and theres 4 more phases of downloads (i go to bed) find out my computer restarted in the middle of the night and there's a patch anyways AHAHA, I have never taken this long to get on a game before gahhhhhhh (gettin there)
Meanwhile I rage logged off JD last nite after DC/LD 2X during same group istance and not getting the credit.0 -

They have done a LOT of updating recently (in the last couple of years)... Just made the game better. :bigsmile: At a minimum, you'll have access to all of the costume pieces you used to have, plus the free ones that came out with various issues (there've also been specialty packs).
I haven't played with my old third account (before they gave us extra slots) yet, so I'm not sure about some of the Premium stuff. My main two accounts are VIP (paid on an annual basis at tax return time).0 -

Haha I thought I hadn't played since 07 but its 06 cus I made the accnt in 05! I also may have to rename myself as my daugther is old enough to read and be freaked out by my name
