For what it's worth I don't like BBs at all. Fine for email but everything else functionality is poor.

I don't know the Sony but a friend of mine has just switched from iphone to Samsung and he loves it. I know a lot of people with HTC phones too that they rate very highly.

I think you probably need to ask yourself first and foremost what will you use it for. Email, Apps, Photos, Music? Then you can make your decision

My daughters both have BBs and they have both had problems with them so wouldnt recommend them...Dont know if you can get an HTC one, but if you can I have the Desire and its great.

Samsung Galaxies are good. I have the mini (only bought it recently) and I love it!

I had the previous Sony, the Xperia X10. It was always crashing, losing reception and kept dropping calls.

I now have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and it's by for the best phone I have ever had.

I have the Xperia Arc (not the S one) and I love it :D I had a Nokia E71 before then and it took a while getting used to the touch screen keyboard- does the BB that you could have have a proper keyboard and is this important to you? Otherwise I'd definitely get the Arc, the camera is brilliant. It took me a couple of days getting used to Android but now I love it, have got the MFP app on it too :) I also use it for playing music (don't need a separate mp3 player now) and the kindle app for reading books, as well as the usual email/calendar. The charge easily lasts a whole day if you're using it lots, or 2 days if you're not constantly on it. Let us know what you decide! :)

I've got an iPhone at the moment and I've had a Blackberry - TBH it depends on what you want from your phone. I loved my BB, apart from the recent problems, i'd say it's still a good make. There just doesn't seem to be as many apps for BB as there are for iPhone. Not the phones you were asking about, but just my tuppence worth x

I have had the Galaxy S for a while now and I hate it. It was awesome at first, (well no, actually the first one was broken out of the box and I had to get a replacement) but now it is so slow, even when I factory reset a lot. I miss calls because it wont respond to me answering, it turns off randomly, overheats regularly, and I don't even use it much.
I love android, I truly do, I am a linux girly, but I will be going for the iphone next time, as Apple products tend to Just Work.

I am an android fan and have the htc desire s, it's perfect for me as it is the right size, has a lot of features that I never get bored of and very reliable.

I've got a BB Torch for work and a Samsung Galaxy Europa as my personal phone.

I use the BB a lot and other than the service issue last month I've never had a problem with it. The MFP app on the BB isn't nearly as good as the Android app, if that's important to you.

The Samsung is very nice. It's really small and really light and there's a much better choice of apps because it's an Android phone.

Horses for courses. What are you going to use it for?

I want a Samsung Galaxy S2... but as I'm not prepared to pay the PAYG price I'm going to get a Galaxy Ace instead.

Thankfully I don't pay for my phonecalls as it's a work phone and I'm a very light user so cannot justify getting an expensive contract just to get the dream phone.

All my colleagues in Sales have BlackBerrys... they seem happy with them, but I don't know if they use them other than for e-mail and accessing web.

I must admit I wanted to get a Sony Ericsson Xperia when they first came out, but a friend of mine had one and I couldn't get it to work for me. The Samsung on the other hand... works like a dream
