Can I just say no one I'd like? Unless Huntsman pulls up the comeback of the century...

I am shocked that he has not done better.

He seems to be intelligent and rational. He may as well be a two headed dragon as far as the right is concerned.

There are just too many people in the race right now and some really good candidates are just flat out ignored. I love Gary Johnson, but NO ONE seems to know who he is.
  • I was a Cain fan, but I don't think he will overcome this stuff going on now. I also like Gingrich, but he has even more baggage than Cain, but I think he is incredibly smart and would make a good president. Perry and Romney are just TO squeaky clean - they look like bookends! I have never cared for Romney, I think he is a RINO. So - I guess that leaves me up the creek without the proverbial paddle. I am just tired of all the professional politians saying and doing what they think the public wants just to get in office and stay in office. Guess that is why I like Cain, at least he isn't a professional politician.

I don't like none of them. Can we just nominate ourselves?

Ugh. None of the above please. Though... this Cain stuff is proving to be interesting. It will either seal the nom for him or ruin him. I think right now its working to his benefit.

They have a pretty sorry field up there. Romney is their John Kerry.

Romney is the only one who stands a chance. Perry is a moron. Bachmann is insane. Huntsman would be good but the GOP seems to think he has the plague. Paul is older than dirt so unless he has a young and appealing VP he won't get it. Anyone Cain doesn't lose to his sex scandals he's going to lose to that ridiculous 999 plan.

IMO the top 2 contenders are Perry and Romney. The only reason Romney isn't way out in the lead is because he isn't the right brand of Christian. Who the GOP puts up will show their priorities. If they are serious about fixing the economy it will be Romney. If their primary agenda is forming a theocracy it will be Perry. Perry can't beat Obama though. He's an idiot, less well spoken than Dan Quayle and George W put together, and so far right he can't even see middle ground. They will lose everyone on the left and the vast majority of independents. Romney could not only take the right but he could also take the independents and a decent chunk of liberals as long as he can manage to not sound like an elitist *kitten*.

Politics has to be the only job where being inexperienced gets you points. However, Obama is an example of a non-politician who is obviously outclassed by actual politicians.

I've recently discovered that I don't much like any of the GOP candidates. And I also identify more with the Libertarian party than I do with the Republican party. Bachmann scares me... I thought Perry would have a shot, but he shot himself in the foot during some of the debates. Cain is too slick... I don't like Romney... Honestly, the only candidate I find somewhat appealing and believable is Gingrich.

Why is it that the this is the best the GOP can do? Obama is already hard on the campaign trail with his "new and improved" stimulus plan to "create jobs" and folks are lapping it up, sadly. I've been involuntarily unemployed far too long (my husband is military and we PCS'd to a new town... and I'm a music teacher...) but I'm not so far gone that I'll buy into his BS.

The media will push who they think Obama has the best chance of beating while they do their best to tear anyone to shreds that they perceive as a real threat.

The media bias has only gotten worse since this study was done lol

Anyone remember who they really gave a lot of attention to before McCain got the nom last time?

The hypocrisy and IOIYAR (I's OK if you are Republican) stances of the Republican party amaze me. When it was Obama against McCain, Obama's 11 years as a Senator were touted as "Too inexperienced" but fast forward 4 years and Cain's never holding a political office is suddenly an asset. *confused*

Romney or Gingrich will likely get the nomination, but at this point, it's too early to tell. Gingrich has a bag of skeletons in his closet the size of Mount Everest. Romney, sofar, has just been sitting back and letting the candidate bubbles burst one by one.

The only one I would even consider voting for is Huntsman. He's rational, well spoken, not a tea party candidate, and has experience in govermnent. Living in Florida, I know what a "businessman" does when he gets elected (RICK SCOTT) and it's not good.

If congress says no to everything, there is going to be a stand still. Even when GWB was president the Dems in congress didn't say no to everything just to spite the president.

Gingrich has more ethics problems than any of them on the stage.

Doesn't matter any more. You can't fix a gigantic fail by replacing one part.

It's like a schoolyard in Washington. If a Democrat suggests something, the Republicans vote against it and vice versa.

It's ridiculous. Your vote counts for nothing anymore. I still vote every election, but doesn't matter who is in power when they put the party ahead of the people.

I think Huntsman is the best out of the group I still wouldn't vote for him. Jon Huntsman has sent a lot of jobs overseas himself. His idea for keeping jobs in the US is getting rid of EPA and pesky government regulations. Claiming the EPA is a job killer (to companies who want to dump their chemicals into our groundwater). When in reality the EPA is outnumbered and probably should be better funded.

While not great, I would say its not as bad on the Democrat side. However whenever they do work with the Republicans, people complain that they have no backbone. Its a pretty crazy cycle.

Remember this is the same party that attacked Bill Clinton relentlessly for once trying marijuana. 8 years later and they elect a coke head who had to go into rehab.

The candidate's don't matter to them. The issues don't matter. Winning is all that matters. Once they're in power they'll do what they want. Don't believe a word they say before then.

Remember how they were going to "focus like a laser on jobs"? So far they've put forth more bills on abortion than jobs. I just can't believe people fall for such obvious b.s.

While I agree with you, Obama was a Senator for far less than 11 years. :ohwell:

He was an IL state Senator from 1996 until he became a US Senator from 2004-2008.

Fox "News" and the GOP dismissed his state Senate run in order to bill him as not having enough experience to be President. State politics only counts if you are a Republican.

Why oh why does Rick Perry continue to debate? He makes me think of this quote, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."
