hitting a plateau frustration

Anyone else experiencing this? I have hit a plateau for past few weeks now. I am trying to be extra motivated but not seeing those motivating lbs drop on scale is making me less positive about my food choices and starting to slip a little!
Today was a weak moment, I had a pornstar martini, and those badboys and their negative effect on my waistline are what started me on a health kick to begin with!

In my own experience... Having a spike day where you eat a bit more than maintenance can help crack that plateau. It seems scary so if you feel worried about the over eat then zig zag your calories the rest of the week. Try it... You can even add those pornstars in!0

I have never heard of that drink before but I am unreasonably excited about it!
I went through the exact same thing about a 2
Months ago for a month absolutely could not for the life of me get under 9 8 no matter what. I had a few wibbly wobbles but more or less just kept trudging on and eventually it started to move on. The key thing for ne was to try not to get do demoralised that you go absolutely mad food wise as try to cut down on the days I weighed myself. Eventually you will break through! X0 -

Maybe a switch up on the calories will do the trick. Plenty of water and even a change of exercise pattern. Just keep trying. It will only take a small change to get you back on the winning trail once more, its just finding the trigger.
But as a matter of interest "what is in that drink you mentioned."?????
Good luck and best wishes....0 -

That is the same weight I have been stuck at! Cheeky weigh in and I am 9st 6 this week so hopefully the lbs are on the move.
i had a few cheeky days at weekend so the comment about having a higher cal day has perhaps cracked it. Fingers crossed I can shift a few more before Xmas and just plateau again with all the mince pies!0 -
Pornstar Martini is basically passionfruit and vanilla martini.
Can be done with just passionfruit puree&vanilla vodka, but decent passionfruit liquor can be nice in there too. A must is vanilla sugar around rim of glass and it is served with a shot of champagne on the side that I personally chuck in the mix or you can save it til last/down it first. Hic.0 -
Gosh that sounds good, I don't think I would stop at one!
Back to the plateau thing, I agree with what's been said above, I had a couple of plateaus while I was losing and it was generally when I relaxed, stopped stressing and ate a little more freely for a few days that the scale began to move in the right direction.
I find a similar thing with my strength training now, when my progress stops, I ease back a bit and then when I go back to the exercise I was stuck on a week or so later, I've improved even though I've not been working on it.0 -
Oh sounds like it is starting to shift again so it's all good in the hood (that sentence was said with irony)
I dropped to 9 6 and now I'm 9 4 having got going again. Iv accepted though it's going to be slow and steady because I'm so close to my old Maintenance weight (before I went to uni and decided a full pizza at 1.30am every time I went out was the best idea I'd ever had.) but I do want to sneak under that a little bit if I can 8 10-7 would be ideal.0 -
Thanks Yvonne, you're def right. After a relax/drop off and now back to it, I am feeling more toned again.
I have noticed a real significant lack of cellulite though which is as good as losing 5lbs! I have continued being off caffeine and fizzy drinks when other good habits slipped and pleased it is paying off.
Well I weighed in today and I am 9.7! So 1lb loss this week, oops oh dear as I was 2lb mid week but I made a marvelous roast yesterday and had 2 glasses of wine and they are obv sticking around today the big meanies.
Well done on your progress in your good hood of irony Marianne!0 -
