You get the whole bed to yourself? So i have heard anyways.
  • I only have to wash dishes for one, take out the trash for one, cook for one, don't have to wonder where I left things, my house is always immaculate, don't have to here...where are you? who are you with?

I would say the freedom - your time is yours to do as you please (for the most part).

 this just made me chuckle. Sometimes when I take drugs to sleep (prescription, duh!) I wake up laying across my bed sideways instead of the normal way. I guess it rocks that I'm not kicking someone when I do that?

Ditto. I don't have to constantly confer with someone else every time I want to make plans, travel, buy something, etc. And I can I decorate my house the way I want to (no deer heads on the wall!). And I get the whole closet!

Me too! Sometimes I stay on "my" (right) side of the bed, other times I'm flopping around all night like a fish out of water and I wake up in the craziest places! It would be fun to film myself when I'm sleeping...that would be extremely entertaining to watch!

We all don't mount deer heads on the wall. lol

Which reminds me, I don't have to watch hunting shows anymore!! That's the prelude to wall mounted deer heads, you know!

LOL I know! It was just an example :) I actually never had that experience myself but a good friend and her husband have been arguing about it for years.
  • Cmon ladies watching cops is just like women watching the "Notebook" over and over and over. hehehe

Things stay where I put them

Trash is in the trash not on the counter

    The shower curtain is closed

    The garage door gets shut!!

No one yells at my dogs but me

My back doesnt hurt from sharing the bed

No one talks to me while I watch TV

No one to care if I play with my toys!

    Millions more reasons!

A lot of these don't apply if you have kids, single or not. :)
I *usually* get the bed to myself but it's not guaranteed.
I'd rather watch Cops than The Notebook any day, but I'm a chick who isn't very into chick flicks.

I've been single for going on 2 years, but it's the first time in my adult life and I'm loving it! I do get lonely and wouldn't mind dating, but it is going to be a loooooong time before I think I'll be ready to share my house with someone other than my kids. I think I'm sort of enjoying having control over pretty much everything, to tell you the truth...from which cable package we have to how the furniture is arranged to what kind of food is in the fridge.

I intend to move in a couple of years, maybe even leave the country. That would be a lot more complicated if I were married or in a long term relationship.

I never have to worry about how I look to someone else. Out in public people around here were never taught basic manners like keeping their eyes to themselves, but I can ignore them most of the time. If I were in a relationship, I would constantly worry about it. And that's true even when I'm at my proper weight. I would also have to worry about the effect what I say and do has on someone else, and you know what? No. I don't need anyone judging me or my life, and that's what people do. Even people who claim to love and care about you. Always judging and criticizing, even if only silently.

For the first time in my life, I've lived these past few years solely to please myself, and I like it. And if I ever do date again, whoever I date is going to either like it, too, or get out of my life in a hurry. I'm not interested in playing control games with anyone, and I intend to be purely selfish from now until the day I die. If I don't want to do something, I'm not doing it. Women especially have been conditioned to sacrifice and to give. That's stupid and it's weak, and no way am I falling into that trap again.

I no longer come home to discover that someone else (who should have been looking for a job but has made excuse after excuse for the previous year) has spent my paycheck on a home theatre system or some similar large purchase

    1. My money is my money and I get to spend it how I want.
    2. I can leave my clothes on the floor in my room without hearing about it later.
    3. I don't have to worry about cooking meals that everyone will want to eat, just myself.
    4. Of course, freedom ^_^

    I don't answer to anyone.
I don't have to go to events. Little 1 year old birthday partys, dinners, weddings. Seriously, women have so much that they do!
I can be messy if I want.
