Hey everyone!

I have NO idea how to do this, so I'm just going to post each day and hopefully someone will join me.

Did you stay on points today? Why or why not? Any food tips to share from your day?

So far I have stayed within my points. I was just wondering how many of you use the extra weekly points? This is my first week on the plan and I have been using the extra weekly points (between 5-8) every day.

ktc - When I first started in June I was at my most successful, but I wasn't using my weekly points.

Today I am 8 points over :frown: I indulged in some left over homemade pizza from last night for lunch instead of having something lighter - it's 10 points per slice! (I'm gluten free so there's some restrictions on foods). It was good though!

I don't do well with deprivation (like a lot of us) so I use my 49 points for a weekly treat. It might be a dessert or a whole meal. Whatever it ends up being, I just remove all the 49 points as if that is what it was worth....even if it was only 20. If the treat is going to be a dessert, I make sure that my meal is still within the daily point allotment.

What really helps me is that I often have just homemade all fruit smoothies for lunch or all veggie juices for dinner. Doing this really helps me stay within my points if I have eaten too much for the other two meals.

I did stay on track today, even eating a few oreos after supper! As a nursing mom I get 14 extra points per day! So it makes it easier.

This is my first week back though, so we will see what the scale says about those 14 points per day!

What I love love love about the new points plus program is how fruits and veggies are free. That is totally awesome! Mmmm raspberries and grapes, if I am craving a snack in the evening and am out of points that would be my go-to

    Great job joonz!!!!

I was wrong about my points - I was over but only by 5 instead of 8. Every little bit!

Just make sure you are only eating the recommended amount of fruits/veggies - yours would be 8 as a nursing mom, but everyone else should only have the recommended 5. I've seen/heard stories when people go way overboard on the fruit/veggie servings becaust they say it's 0 pts, but at weigh-in they have gained and can't figure out why until someone looks at their food log and determines it's the fruit/veggie servings.

I know I have seen some members say they will do a mix of 3 veggies & 2 fruits (just as an example) then anything over that they start counting as 1-2 pts per serving. For me, if I purchase any type of fruit that has nutrition info I put the amounts in my calculator and if it shows a point value, that's what I enter in my food tracker.

I like to use a few of my weeklies every day if needed and then use the bulk of them on Fridays or weekends when I eat out with friends. Some weeks I can hardly use all my points and other weeks I am saving every last bit I can so I can indulge.

I have been trying new foods from this Hungry-Girl website. She also has books and a tv show. I made 4 of her recipes this weekend and it was delicious! She even has points plus values on her recipes.

Do you guys ever have problems with tracking? Tracking on my phone with MFP has made it easier to log in my tracker (i have the 3 month one) and figure out my points with my calculator. This week though, i was bad and didnt track my points for a few days....

I'm back on track today but I weigh in on Mondays so I am little nervous about my meeting tonight.

What days do you guys weigh in?
