So I'm looking to run a 5k in 2012 hopefully - late spring or summer? Do you guys know of or have you run any of them in CT? (Oh and would anybody be my running buddy?)

Where in CT? Their isn't any shortage of them during the non-winter months. I live closer to NYC so I do a lot of them in the city.

i ran 2 last year. one in middletown and another in cheshire. the one in middletown was in April and it was called 'Sunshine Kids Fun Run' and the one in cheshire was around june and was called 'Sea dog road race'. I think they are both going on again in 2012!!

Middletown and Cheshire are close for me - I'm in Wallingford. I know there's a lot, the whole racing thing just seems really intimidating still to me.

the one in middletown was really small last year, so it wasn't overwhelming. the cheshire one was definitely bigger/intimidating.

let me know if you sign up for either of those!

Couldn't find any info for a 2012 middle town race, but will keep my eyes open. I saw their page from 2011 though, it sounds like a good 5k. I've been consistently running 3 miles for a while so I'm sure by spring it won't be a problem for me, even outside.

 There is an all women 5k walk/run in Litchfield at the end of April beginning of May. Not sure the exact date yet but I've done it before. Not a bad course, one small hill in the middle of the run. It was my first 5k and it's more fun then competitive. Just a bunch of females getting together to be active. There were people who strolled the course and people who were there to get their personal best. It's usually posted on runnersworld.com a few months before.
