Well here it goes! My name is Nikki. I am 27 and have three children (ages 9, 6, and 4). I am a single mom, so life is busy here, and hectic at times. I am a full-time college student, and I work part-time also. I am getting ready to move in 6 months about an hour and a half away from home to finish my bachelor's, and then begin law school. I have so many emotions running right now with everything going on, but I know with motivation and determination, anything and everything is possible! While doing all of this, I am also trying to lose about 140 pounds! I know I will eventually get there, I just have to stick with it!

My name is Beth and am 32 years old. I only have one child he is 8 and if you include my husband (who sometimes acts like one) I have two. I work full time and go to school full time. I am graduating in December and then the job hunt begins. I will probably go get my masters, but I will need a break after the holidays. We had a flood in September and our community is still recovering I unluckily work for a heating company right now so for 2 months I have been working 60 hour weeks and then school for around 20hours ( I go to school online). As you all know it is difficult and I am crazy enough to try to have another child. With all this I am trying to drop pounds (I have a lot to go) and give my family the attention they want. Its a long road but we will all get their eventually.

Hello! My name is Shannon and I am a single mom of two children, 17 and 12 years old. I work full-time and attend an accelerated part-time bachelor's degree program that is intense with writing. I love that I'm finally on a path to finish my bachelor's and I graduate in 2013, yippee!!

In regards to my weight, I am an emotional eater and I love processed food (muffins, pastry, snacks...anything tasty) BUT I have recommitted myself to losing weight on MFP again. Right now I am at my heaviest weight ever (I never even weighed this much when I was pregnant)--disgusted! I figure it's not worth educating myself if I'm not going to keep a healthy body to push me to the next level.

I'm grateful for this group! :)

Nice to meet you ladies! Blink1021, you schedule does sound crazy! Sometimes I look back at my own and wonder how I am even capable of doing all of this. I get about 4 hours of sleep a night, and surprised my body can even keep up! and Shan2bthin, we have SO much in common as far as eating goes. I'm an emotional eater as well, and I have never been this heavy either, even when pregnant :( BUT at least I know right now I'm on the right path to getting healthy again...although I don't think I've been "healthy" since high school, 10 years ago! lol

Yes I am an emotional eater also and I am a bored eater. If I am home alone and just watching t.v. I will raid the kitchen whether I am hungry or not. I love anything salty and crunchy, chips, pretzels, crackers. I am also addicted to cheese and I love ice cream. I didn't weigh this much either when I was pregnant. It is really upsetting, but I just try to stay busy and not think about food.

    Hi moms :)

My name is Krista and I am 30. I have a 9 month old (jan 26 bday). I work full time Mon-Fri and I am completing my Bachelor's degree (one more class after this semester - hoorah!!). I struggle with finding time to work out because after I get home from work I just want to spend time with my little boy. I have working mom guilt and then when I choose to spend my time working out, I feel guilty being away from him. I've been trying to get in the swing of things of working out when he goes to bed but then I feel guilty putting off school work. I am getting there. It's getting a little easier now that I've been back to work for 6 months (crazy). I love being a mom and everything that comes with it!!!!

Hope to meet some wonderful ladies through this group that understand what it is like to be in my shoes, and I am sure I will. :)

Hi my name is Jessie. I am 23 years old and i have a one yr old named Deanna, which u can tell from my sn. I just applied to 4 yr college, and since i went to a community college in my state i am guarenteed admission and will be pursuing my degree in secondary education as an english major. !!!! i am so nervous about it, but i know that it will be better for my daughter if i have my BS and will help my bf out because then i can have a career and not just a job. Plus the chances that my daughter will go to a four yr college or above is higher is both parents hold a four yr degree (or so i have heard.) i am not working right now, but it feels like i am because i have to drive back and forth from hartford to bridgeport ( which is an hour) due to the fact that my bf and i don't really live together right now because i have to go to school. I hate having to depend on people to watch my daughter for me, but at least i HAVE people who can watch her, because then i don't know what i would do!

Hi my name is Latesha and I am 39 and the mother of an 8 1/2 year old son. I am a teacher and constantly tendinding to others on all levels (students, parents, adminstration). I feel like I put everyone and everything ahead of myself. I want desperatly to honor myself and begin my day doing something for myself. I have experienced success with weight loss when I've worked with a trainer and with diet supplement but never on my own. I have been divorced for over 10 years but haven't been in a longterm relationship (longer than 6 months) since my divorce. I am very successfull at commoplishing other goals in other areas of my life. I've earned 2 advanced degrees (master's and specialists) as a single mom. It was so hard but I am proof that IT CAN BE DONE. SO keep working hard ladies.

Well, this is my first week...I have managed to fit in 3 days of workouts (45 min, 30 minutes, and 35). All pm workouts. My eating has been good for the most part. I have extra points due to exercise and I've not gone below 1200 calories. While this week has been difficult...I am trying to stay focused on the small steps. I weigh in on Monday's...I'll see then if any of this is working.

Nice to meet you all. Looking forward to giving and receiving support.
  • Hi! I'm Kiki and I'm 27 years old. I have two daughters ages 20 months and 6 years. I'm in my capstone course for my bachelors degree and I'm also active duty military. I'm working to lose 54 lbs to get back to where I was before having two kids. I look forward to chatting with all of you.

I am working on my Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. I have been in a relationship with a friend from my high school years for 12 years. I want to look and feel good about myself. I just want to say that there is no better place to get motivation than on this site.

Hello all! I am 29 years old. I have a 5 year old daughter and a 2 year old son. I work full time as an engineer and have been studying hard to pass my professional exam. Since I had my son, I have been steadily losing about 1 lb a month. It might not be a lot, but I have been able to maintain it with simple lifestyle changes. I am close to my goal weight, but now I want to be stronger and have more energy. How else can I work full time, study, be a wife and keep up with my crazy, energetic kids? (Where do they get all that energy?!)

I am really happy to find a group of women in a similar situation!

    Hi everyone,
My name is Megan, I am a mother to a 2 year old daughter and 3 month old son. I work full time and trying to get a good work out schedule has been a real challenge. I am hoping that if I find a group of people or at least a work out buddy it will help to keep me motivated. I am going to try a new schedule of working out before work which means getting up at about 5am, yuck!

Hi Ladies, I'm Lyndi. I'm a 33 year old busy working mom to a 5 and 2 year old (and a 40 year old if you count my husband). I have a long commute (45 minutes plus one way) to a job I love. But with that commute comes limmited time to get things done at home and spend time with my family. I'm finding I'm always making plans to carve out time for myself and work-out, but that's about as far as I get. My actual follow through needs work. I would love to loose the 15 extra pounds I've packed on haveing two kids but with kids, work and well life - it's been been a challenge to say the least. It's nice to meet a group of ladies who are in the same situation as me.

    Hello Everyone!!

I am single mom to two beautiful boys ages 8 and 3. I work full time and take 15 credits a semester full time as a junior working on my bachelors. I earned my associates in may. Nice to see there is soooo many more women out there just like me!! It's hard to find time to work out, when you know every free moment you have at night when your kids go to sleep; it's homework and studying time :)

Hi I'm Matisha (23) single mother of my wonderful overenergetic 3 year old...lol I currently work fulltime and am a fulltime student. There always seems to be so much on my plate and not enough hours in the day, but I am taking the time out for me to see a better and healthier me. Before I had my daughter I lost 50 lbs. I have since put that 50 and then a little more back on! I'm not completely utterly disgusted when I look at myself in the mirror, BUT im not extremely overwhelmed with joy either... so my motto is if you dont like something CHANGE IT, which is exactly what brings me here! I have been a yo-yo dieter and exerciser and have finally realized that no matter how long i do it a DIET will never work for me, yet I must change my whole lifestyle! I hope to get to know all you ladies and hopefully this time next year I can share how I met my weight loss goals and how im still maintaing a healthy lifestyle!

Hello all! I'm Tonya. I'm 39, married to Mike, and have 2 teenagers, 19 and 17. My Son (the 19 yo) just moved out and my Daughter is a junior in high school and on the cheerleading squad and golf team. Thankfully, she's old enough to drive herself to practice! LOL I am currently on break from school, but have been doing 18 hour semesters for the last couple of years so that I can get my bachelors in exercise physiology and minor in nutrition. Thankfully, I only have one semester left and all I have in this coming semester is my 12 credit hour internship in the cardiac rehab department of one of our local hospitals. This is a really good thing not only because I will graduate in May, but also because I only have 10 weeks of internship so I'll be done in March and because my internship site is half the distance from my house then the school was so my commute will only be an hour now instead of two. I have also already been accepted into the masters in exercise science program at the University of South Florida so I will be moving there and beginning classes in August. For work, I do private personal training about 10 hours a week.
  • Hi, my name is Megan.

I am a mother of 4, ages 8, 5, 3, and 18 months. I am in a semi-committed relationship right now, but still consider myself a single mother because my children's father left when I was about 4 months pregnant with the youngest.

I do work from home as a technical support person. It's really hard having kid food in the house while I'm trying to make such drastic changes in my eating habits. I'm thinking everyone is going to end up being healthier right along with me!

I think my biggest challenge right now is trying to find time to take care of myself. I am so very busy with making sure bills are paid, kids are fed, dressed and bathed, and doing dishes and laundry for 5 people every day there is pretty much no time left for meal planning or keeping track of calories. I'm hoping this community will help me stay on track.

I am brand new and need friends, so add me pretty please!

Hello my name is Sheila Parker and I'm a mom to two very beautiful active boys, ages 4 years and 15 months. I am a stay at home mom and attend college full time. I have been overweight for probably the past 10 years and it got worse with each child. I put so much of my time and attention into my family, ate too much and didn't exercise. About 4 months after I had my second son I decided it was time to get myself back on track and get the weight off.

I started out by joining Curve's and it worked and I love it but when I made the decision to go back to school it just wasn't working out for me anymore. So I finally decided to buy a workout program that I could do at home and have almost stuck with it for 30 days. At first it was hard, I had the motivation but just the thought of how much weight I had to lose scared me. There were days that I was mentally trying to talk myself out of doing the work out but pushed myself because I know how much better I felt when it was complete.

Thursday, 01/05/12, will be my 30 day point and now my work outs have become like second nature. I'm excited to see how much weight I have lost during the past month. I look forward to keeping my motivation through this group and offering what I can.

  • Hiya! My name is Jessica and I am 33 years old. I have about 150 lbs to lose. I am currently a full time college student, wife, and mother. Currently I have have the pleasure of not working but I still put in a lot of work. My husband is disabled and cannot do a whole lot around the house and I have a 16 year old (that should explain it). So most of the house work is put on me. Now I am trying to embark on this journey and will hopefully be successful.

I'm Cheryl, a 31 year old single mom of a 9 year old boy. I've been overweight since I was a teenager, and now I work in IT which means sitting and staring at a computer screen all day. Not a lot of chances to exercise in that job. I went to the doctor for an ear infection one day and during the dreaded weigh in, watched the nurse push the weight on the scale from the 250 mark to the 300 and decided I had to fix this. Can't believe I'm almost a third of the way toward my goal. It still doesn't feel possible.

Hi! I am Summer. Married and 3 kids. 9 year old daughter and 4 year old twins. I am a SAHM and a FT student. One of my daughters is special needs, so that in itself is a lot of work. I am also married to a cop who works crazy hours which can be hard on the family. I was running a lot in early 2011 but then my husband got really sick for 3 months and I stopped. I just ran a 1/2 marathon in 3 hours with ZERO training and it's really jump started my motivation. So in addition to running I am doing 30DS. I am hoping to lose 35 lbs this year.

  • Hi everyone! My name is Laura. I am 30 yrs old and married. I have 3 kids (11,5,4). I attend college part time (for nursing) and work part time too. It's a busy life, but I am trying to keep up. I recently have had blood pressure problems and have been advised to lose weight. I personally have been putting myself on the back burner and needed the realization that I have to be healthy for myself. If I'm not healthy, how are others around me that I take care of supposed to be healthy too?
