Robert Kirkman says episode seven, which is the last episode before the season goes on break, will be a bit bigger than previous episodes and likely reveal the fate of Sophia:
"t is a bigger episode and there are some loose ends tied up, but I wouldn't want to say what just yet. But I will say to keep an eye out for that episode, it's gonna be huge!"
He also revealed that a ton of new characters - possibly from the comics, possibly original - will be introduced after the hiatus, and that the very next episode will reveal how the zombies in Herschel's barn are feeding. He didn't exactly confirm that Dale and Andrea are headed for a hook-up, as happened in the comics, but he acknowledged that was a very likely possibility. Kirkman also explains why he's excited for season three, as well as when Michonne will show up:
"We're very excited for the third season because there's a lot of really cool stuff coming up in the story line that is going to be a lot of fun to adapt...She was introduced pretty early on in Vol. 4 of the comic books," says Kirkman. "Whether we'll move that up or have it happen at a later date, we haven't figured out. But I will say that she's definitely going to be in the show eventually."
Another burning question we had was about that "moment" between Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn) and Andrea (Laurie Holden) in Sunday's episode; an exchange on the back porch of Hershel's farmhouse that may have signaled a subtle shift in their relationship. Is it just us picking up romance vibes, we asked, or are they, like their counterparts in the comic books, headed for a hook-up?
"In this situation, people are prone to pairing up -- it's just part of our natural inclination, it's part of the survival instinct and it certainly looks that way to me."
Finally, we had to ask about the big reveal of Hershel's barn full o' zombies. It got us thinking about zombie mechanics again and wondering whether Hershel has to feed his flock or if they just kind of bump into each other and wait for a rat to wander by.
"We will have an answer to that in the very next episode!"

I'm salivating over the hints. I am impatiently waiting for the next two episodes...
Why can't it be Sunday?!0 -

Here is the scene that they showed for the new episode during that other show. Can't wait!0 -
Ok, I haven't read the graphic novels, though now I'm thinking I need to. So the idea of a hookup between Dale and Andrea based solely on the TV characters kinda squees me out a little. He basically said in an episode of S1 that he looked at Andrea and her sister as daughters. So no, I do not want to see a romantic coupling of these two.
I was kinda thinking it would be Shane and Andrea.0 -
I'm so excited to see that Michonne will be coming to the show. They need a real female bad *kitten* on the show. All the female characters are annoying.0

Excited, excited, excited! Sunday has officially become my favorite day of the week. Football, cheating on my diet, spending time with my loved one and The Walking Dead all jam pack into one day. Gotta love it!0

Am I the only one that wanted to punch Dale in the face?!0

What about Tyreese? T-dog is noooo Tyreese!!!0

I can't stand Dale.
so many reasons...to name two
he takes the roll of lookout but only looks one way?
why does he insist on driving that old trailer? its not dependable. they should all be driving newish vehicles. preferably SUV type vehicles.0 -
It was a good episode! I was shocked that Lori told Rick the truth about her and Shane. I actually have more respect for her now.
Was shocked about Andrea and Shane. Dale is so getting on my nerves, I did not like how he confronted the old man about the Zombie's in the barn, or how he told Shane to leave. Also how he betrayed Glen like that.
Can't wait for next week's episode, but Idon't like this mid-season finale crap.0 -
Glenn freakin' rocked this episode! I was cheering for him the whole time. lol I hope Maggie gives him some extra sugar for saving her butt.
Not sure what to think about Dale....his intentions are good, but his approach is sucky.0 -
Loving Glen!!!! Still hate Andrea, but I am not surprised her and Shane hooked up. Shane is soooo beautiful, but his attitude is sucking big-time. I am glad Lori finally spilled, and Dale is going to end up in the barn if he doesn't shut up( for his own sake). A lot happened in this episode, kind of weird. It didn't really pan out like other things. I have given up on Sophia. . .0

Agreed! What a great episode!! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I am so glad Lori got it all out of her system...I'm still not digging the way they are working an infant into this whole mix through. And Rick's reaction to Lori and Shane was great I thought....he understood immediately and moved on.
I'm wondering how the doctor thinks he can "save" the zombies in the barn? Even IF they came out with something to "cure" this, it's not going to help those who turned into zombies. They're bodies are rotting!
Also, I think this episode finally answered the question that if zombies don't get to eat...then they will starve to death. So eventually if the whole earth turned to zombies...it would be short lived right?0 -

I second all of this. I was really surprised with how quickly they zipped through the whole pregnancy reveal though. I thought with how long they've been looking for Sophia, they would have dragged this out a few episodes.
I think Dale is playing out too much like a sucky big brother. I am glad that Andrea is starting to harden up a bit though, hopefully she'll stop whining soon.0 -
Was I the only one who laughed out loud at Shane's reaction to Andrea's reach over?! Priceless entertainment!!0

I was taking a sip of wine and nearly chocked on it when I started laughing. Starting to like Andrea again... waiting for Shane to be Walker Food... he's annoying me.0 -
Dale's calling out Shane and Shane's reactionary threat were AWESOME!0

yeahShane looked so evil when saying it too. My sister called that before it happened she said i would not confront him he would kill u no second thought lol0 -
well, wait, was *I* the only one who was like WTF to Rick's reaction when Lori told him she whored up with shane? he was too blase about it - "oh well, you thought your husband was dead and the world was falling to ***** or soemthing like that? that would SO NOT be my reaction ... Rick is too meh for me...man up kid!0

"I was like, there's no way, there's no way on earth some chick's like, 'I cheated on you with your best friend,' and he's just like, 'It's alright, it's a zombie apocalypse," Smith joked on "Talking Dead."

Rick is a bit of a puss, Shane is a self- serving prick and Lori is just boring and sad. But Daryl, Glen, and the walkers are totally worth tuning in for every week!0

I think this is just the beginning of Rick hardening up to the realization that things have changed. Over the last few episodes I think you can start to see it in the way he reacts to things. Sure he still has hope that he'll find Sophia, but if you compare the Rick from the beginning of the series until now, you can definitely see that his personality is heading the same direction the comics took.0 -
From a recent EW interview with Robert Kirkman...ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Why did you decide the time had come for Lori to ‘fess up to Rick about sleeping with Shane?
ROBERT KIRKMAN: It was something we wanted to wrap up to a certain extent. It’s a disservice to Rick’s character to make him look like he’s completely clueless. But this isn’t really a resolution per se. It makes things a little bit more tense, moving into this next episode. Seeing Rick interact with Shane will have an extra level of tension because now the audience has one up on Shane as opposed to one up on Rick. It’s going to be fun waiting for the other shoe to drop, when Rick may or may not confront Shane with this information.
Rick took the news pretty well.
Well, it’s interesting. This season is all about whether or not Rick feels like he can be the leader and whether or not he is capable of being the leader. He’s had this leadership role thrust upon him and I think this is the first clear indication that he’s the guy. For him to have this information and to sit on it for the good of the group, that is a real, clear indication that he is capable of being a good leader.
Earlier in the episode, Lori told Dale that Rick is the father. Can we assume this is not necessarily the case?
I would say that is a matter of wishful thinking on her part. She was with those two men very close to each other. There was not a large span of time between her time with Shane and then Rick’s return and her time with Rick. It’s definitely up in the air and it’s not like there’s a lot of paternity tests floating around out there.
The show deals with a lot of hot button topics: Religion, racism, guns, and now abortion. Obviously this is ground you’ve covered in the comic for a long time but do you feel a greater sense of responsibility approaching these subjects on a TV show that is being watched by millions of people every week?
I suppose so. At the same time, we’re not really ever trying to preach [about] certain hot button topics one way or the other. If anything, I would say that this show advocates for gun ownership, just because they do seem to come in handy [in the post-apocalypse]. As far as the abortion stuff goes, it’s really just a matter of being realistic. These are the kinds of issues that people deal with in real life and in this situation I think that that is the kind of thought process that Lori Grimes would be going through. If there’s ever been an argument for abortion I think the thought of bringing a child into a world infested with zombies is definitely something that at least warrants a discussion. Because it is a horrific world that they’ve been living in and they have been watching people die left and right. After everything that Carl has been going through and losing Sophia — I mean this has been very definitively been proven to be a world that is not fit for children. So that is an issue that’s going to come up.
But you must be aware that, if Lori does proceed with the pregnancy, there will be people who claim that is a pro-life plot line.
Sure. That’s the risk that you take with this kind of stuff. But I think that avoiding that in order to avoid any kind of controversy is weak storytelling. There’s always going to be a controversy of some kind no matter what you do. People have opinions, and that’s what makes them great. You can’t write a story trying to avoid anything like that because the most mundane thing can [turn into] overblown Internet hysteria. You’ve just got to do what you do.
Moving on, it has to be said that Shane and Andrea are kind of a hot pair.
Yeah, yeah.
They’re the Brangelina of the post-apocalypse. They’re Shandrea!
[Laughs] All I can say is “Yes.”
I literally just came up with “Shandrea” just then.
We’ve been saying that in the writer’s room for weeks.
That’s bulls—. If you use that in the show, I’m going to sue.
You’re right! I was only kidding.
To readers of the Walking Dead comic, like myself, it now seems as if Shane is part of two love triangles.
To a certain extent, yeah. The relationship between Dale and Andrea hasn’t really quite blossomed just yet, like it did in the comic book series. But there are certainly hints there that that may be something on the horizon. So, yeah, if you’ve got a relationship, Shane would like to screw it up!
He only needs to get it on with either Maggie or Glenn and he’s got a full set!
[Laughs] Now you’re spoiling our upcoming Glenn-Shane storyline.

It was very soap opera-y. I found myself lacking patience with the stupid behavior. Maybe I should have watched it in a different mood.0
