Breastfeeding

Hi, you more experienced fitness pal mommies! Technical question: I'm curious how you account for breastfeeding in the calorie counter. I've just been mentally adding 500 calories to the numbers they give me, but there must be a way to log those calories on the site somehow. Yes?

  • I went ahead and created an exercise called "breastfeeding" (it's cardiovascular, doncha know?) and said it burns 500 calories. Guess I'll just log it that way until I learn a better way.

you can go into the food database and type in breastfeeding. There will be several options for you there!

i just automatically added 500 calories to what my goal calorie intake would be for the day. so ex: to lose 1/2 lb per week it set me at 1300 calories per day. I then changed it to 1800 cals and made that my permanent number
