How on earth can I have been knitting for so long, doing so much stuff, and NOT have a pair
of size 7 straight needles? I'm using my circular..for the moment, but I'll stop on the way
home today and grab a pair. How weird....:tongue:

    I think 7's are a strange size. I don't mean the actual size is strange, I mean more Twilight Zone strange! I didn't have any of that size for a long time and kept needing them. Finally bought a set of circs and didn't like what I'd gotten so I tried again.....and again... Now I have 3 sets of 16" circs, two sets of dpn's and I don't know how many interchangeable tips! But at least I have one of each that I like. (Harmony dpn's from Knit Picks and Addi Turbos in the circs.)

    That is funny! Maybe because straight needles are the worst? LOL! You must knit tighter or looser than gauge as size 7 is usually what is reccomended for worsted weight yarn.

    my house eats them. it ate every pair of my double points for about 6 months and then threw them back up into my lantern moon basket (which i had emptied and organized when i was trying to find them in the first place)

    it's knitting black magic!

    I can't even remember the last time I used size 7s. I use 8 the most.

    i just bought my first pair of 7s for a ruffled scarf i am working on. i had at least one pair of every other size.

    I don't have a pair of size seven straights either. I have size 7 double pointed needles, 2 circular needles and a set of interchangeable needles which also includes size 7. I'm not really a fan of straight needles anymore though, so I've never felt the need to buy them.
