Well hello all! I am a newbie of the blue team. ) Sorry to hear some have dropped out but thankful for being able to join.
Im Meg from Middletown, PA....for now. My husband is leaving for boot camp for the Air Force Jan 10th and when he is done we are getting relocated to Monterey, CA. Should be quite an adventure, but NEED this challenge so i can stay on track and not turn to food while he is away. We have the most amazing 2 1/2 year old little man that i am lucky enough to stay home with everyday so i am usually around pretty often during the day.
Not sure of all the captain roles and all that but since i have time to organize challenges and such i would love to be a helper if there isn't already one.
Im excited to get started! )

I wanted to let everyone know that I will be out of town and away from a computer for the next week or so. I didn't want you guys to think I left you hanging I should be back on around the 27th. Happy Holidays to everyone !!!0
-
Our group is so quiet? Don't we need a team name? Or did we already decided on that?0
-
I am always suggesting things on here but not hearing anything back :-/ x0
-
Omg if noone else would be offended... I was thinking the Blue Whales lol our ticker should have a blue whale at one end and a gorgeous bluey dolphin at the other end
I like it. Although the author may be a tiny bit biased since she lives there. LOL

- 500 crunches in a week challenge
- turn playtime with your kids into a workout challenge
- 30 squats a day challenge
- no alcohol challenge
- no sweets challenge

I cannot give up my red wine and beer -- pick something else. LOL0 -
Hi everybody,
I'm sorry but I'm going to be withdrawing from the challenge. I wish you all the very best luck on the challenge. I've just got some things going on and I'm not going to be able to commit. Blessings to all you!! :flowerforyou:
we'll miss you, Bonnie!0 -
Blueya is hilarious. I can seriously hear myself saying that after a hard workout. lol.
Not sure how we are going to log our daily activity for the group weekly challenges and our Blue team challenges but i am a spreadsheet kinda girl and if you guys are interested i could whip one up so we can track everything....
As for our first challenge, i love the suggestions so far anyone really like one in particular, I am fond of simple moves such as lunges, crunches, pushups. Especially those that can be done while doing something else. Ex. Do squats while folding laundry. Crunches while little one is in the bath tub and peek over the side...you get the idea.0 -
Ok - I know I've been quiet... my youngest son just had surgery last week so I''ve been a bit preoccupied at home.
I saw a name posted earlier called the "Bluesers" ... I liked that one!
The Blue Whales - sorry - I would have to vote NO ... I know it's not intended as I probably took it - but Whale is not a term I want associated in a name - going through 2012! Probalby just a pyschological thing - but...
Challenges - sound good so far. Although - may need to expand on the 15k in a week challenge?0 -
How is our wonderful Blue team? Getting all geared up for the new year! YOU BETTER BE!
Alright, contacted out captain and i guess we have nothing done....booo. lol. I realistically would like to have everything done this week do we can relax and get ready for Jan 1st. SO....
Looks like we like Blueya and Bluesers for a team name. Not so mu\ch blue whales....
We have quite a few ideas for the challenges....although it looks like 15K in a week is a little too much for some of us (honestly me included, i usually run 2xs a week and only get about 2 miles in each time...not even close to 15K. Maybe 10k would be a more realistic goal) Other than that they are awesome and i have a few others up my sleeve if we need more ideas....
Sound off people! Opinions?

I like Bluesers & then for a challenge 100 jumping jacks would be a nice challenge..
Also would we like to have a group or a blog made? What do we want our team picture to be?0 -
Both names are fine by me, but kinda partial to Blueya!
The challenges sound good except for a couple, like playing with the kids as I have no kids. And my workouts usually consist of classes, so the 15k might be an issue. Will try to think of some more0 -
There is a picture on google that says "blusers" on it. Its pretty cool. So if we go with that it would work. Didn't find one for Blueya unfortunately.
And there are a ton of jumping jacks pics....
As for a group, that would work too so we have our own spot but i am also ok with this forum as well.0 -
Since Blue Whales it out, I guess, I'd go with Blueya or Bluesers.0
-
I am okay with this forum as well. I just thought we had to create either a blog or a group for our team.
So with the pictures what do I do create a page and add those pictures to it?0 -
Ok, just read the captain post. Looks like a blog needs to be posted from the captains account every Friday night/ Saturday Morning explaing the next weeks challenge and to keep up morale.
Looks like other groups are starting their own groups...it would be easier to keep track of everyone.
The pictures for our weekly challenges are to be e-mailed to biggest.loser.12@gmail.com due every Saturday @ noon.
And all of our weights are due to Knickles1987 and she has to input our weights into the spreadsheet by noon on Saturday also. So i would think Weigh-in Fridays so there is no chance of being late....
There is another part about changing our tickers but i personally like having my little man on there....but if we want to change them to match that is fine too.0 -
So we have to submit pictures each week too?
I think we need a more "direct" post about competitor requirements by start up.
Friday weigh-ins? Is that for sure? The challenge starts on a Monday - so we'd be weighing in only after our first 4 days? I'm good with it - just throwing it out there.0 -
NO we dont have to post pictures each week, the captain is responsible to submit a picture that coordinates with out weekly challenge. I was posting that for her because im not sure if she read the captain forum....(there is one that explains everything, there is one for competitors)
Here are some rules for contestants.
1. Each week, your team captain will come up with a challenge for you to do. TRY your best.
2. You need to submit your weight to your captain each week by Friday. Your captain has to post your info to the spreadsheet starting at 10pm each Friday. Your team captain will let you know exactly what time they would like your weights to them. If something happens to you, and they cant reach a scale, they must give your weights early.
3. If you go MIA, your captain will try to reach out to you, if you do not respond by the weigh in time, you will be moved to the "not the biggest loser" bracket.
4. I would like each team have the same ticker, but that is up to your and your team.
5. You also need to come up with a team name. This is due to me by December 31st, Please take a vote so everyone can have a voice.
6. There will be a challenge that I come up with each week. I will post it every Sunday, along with each teams challenge.
Our first weight in will be almost 2 weeks after we start, just so everyone can push a bit harder and get used to each team. Our first weigh in is January 13th 2012.0 -

just fyi, i cannot achieve lunges since i broke my tibia last winter. i suppose i could somehow modify them, so don't let me hold anybody back. idk if i'll be able to do the challenges at this point.0 -
Hey so I vote for the Blusers!
Anyway I thought that maybe our first challenge (one of the hardest for me!) could be to 'clean' our kitchens after the holidays! Get rid of all temptations etc... Get a nice healthy base for our diets before we start an exercise challenge?
Any ideas are good for me though :-)

I do like the 15k challenge since it is a CHALLENGE to complete it...i think that should be a little later in the challenge not right from the gate....
100 jumping jacks is ok....but seems like a bit of a cop out. I am here to be pushed, not take 5 minutes one day and complete the weekly challenge and be done. Just my opinion.
Looks like Blusers wins for the name....unless we have any other ideas.0 -
Hello fellow blusers!!!
My name is Lisa. I am from Pennsylvania (Lancaster county). I have 2 children.. Carter is 6 and Alicia is 4.
I am really excited to be a part of this group!! Go BIG BLUE!!! . ... oh and I have a husband named Eric and
2 dogs.. Ace (black lab) and Snoopy (very, very, naughty chihuahua mix).
It seems really warm out today in PA... unusual for this time, but, I kind of like it
I hope everybody has a wonderful day and can't wait to chat soon0 -

I agree, im from the Harrisburg area and it is a really nice sunny day in PA. Weird but ill take it.
I just messaged CJ (biggest_loser_2012) I seen on her news feed that we have nothing done and it seems to be stressing her out. Knickles i didn't mean to step on your toes but if i don't hear from you i will make the needed decisions so we are done until the 1st.
Also about our first challenge, how would everyone feel about the no sweets as our first one. I think it would be a great way to boost our loss after a candy filled December? Or do we want to stick to the jumping jacks?0 -
Forget it. Knickles has stepped down as a captain and i must have missed it....so ill be taking over from here.
I set us up with a group where you can go to check in and stay informed with all things Bluesers: weigh-in, check mini challenges, motivate our team etc!
As of now everything we needed to complete before the start of the challenge is complete. So now we just need to sit back, relax, get to know each other and get ready to KICK SOME BUTT!!!!
I am too excited about this challenge can't wait to start!!!!
