Depends on the situation and my actual knowledge of it. There's a difference between trusting your gut regarding something you're already relatively familiar with and trusting your gut blindly without any other information.

I don't always go with my gut feeling, but it's an eerie feeling how often it's accurate.

I met DH on Dec 16, 1988. I went home from college for Christmas and he came over to my parents' to take me out for NYE. We'd had 1 date prior to hat. I just knew in my gut that he was the one. I'd never felt that way about anyone I'd dated before.

I could also tell most of the time when the kids were getting into something they shouldn't. I called it my "mommy radar".

Other times I've just known things would end up a certain way or that a decision was a good or bad one before it was even made.

I always trust my instincts.

I always follow my gut if I'm packing and am not sure if I will need X, or even what I'm taking in my purse. Half the time I need what I was debating about, but every time I've said, nah I won't need X, I do.
