Aw dude, i got tales. When u love a game so much but quit out of sheer frustration on either a boss battle or certain part.
Happened a lot with MG:Snakeeater, Sonic and knuckles, every ninja gaiden game, and madden online
Most recently...yugi and FF iii for DS >8[
Theres road rage than theres gamer rage, am i the only emotionally over invested one?

They need a support group for people like us.
I've said in here before that I'm notorious for not finishing games, and that's why. I'll get angry at a boss, or ticked off because I can't find an item, or I'll not be able to solve a puzzle, and I'll get all mad and quit "for the day." Then the day stretches to a week, and I still can't think about playing without getting mad, so I don't, and by the time the rage subsides I've forgotten where I am in the game and I feel like I have to start over, which is too frustrating so I just give up.0 -
I think I'm a pro rage quitter, it's worse for single player games for some reason. So many games left unfinished....

What got your rage on with Snake Eater?! I love that game!0
-
It was a glorious game! Just figuring the old man sniper and big boss @ the end.
I miss MGS0 -
I spent all day yesterday cussing out this one quest in Skyrim. But when I get stuck on something like a puzzle game, I cheat. That's right; I cheat. I go straight to a walk-through. But if I get ticked, you outta see my boyfriend. I've seen him toss his keyboard. ;}0

I just bought the MGS HD PS3 game with Sons of Liberty, Snake Eater and Peacewalker on it0

Gamefaqs.com has saved me several rage quits. I am not ashamed.0 -
when I get stuck in a game i become a bit a pissy, well actully I want take the remote and jam into the tv screen. What I do is take a brake from the game (being stuck on a level, boss, ect...) and play a differnt game or do something else for awile. It seems after I come back all of the sudden the game is easy. but that just me.0

Often when I get stuck it's because my concentration has dipped, so often a break does the trick0

lol..... brings back memories of WoW .. I was a mad gamer... a nice person when not playing games.. arenas and world pvp < lets just say i had to get a new mouse, head set, key bored ,desk, last thing i broke was my cell ...... i would rage quit every time our rating went down...
.BAHAHA
so fail... sigh, i could never get 2200 ... stuck at 2000-2100. >.<........................... oh gosh sooo happy i dont play wow anymore..... i cant afford to buy new stuff after i break it0 -
I did exactly this with Assassin's Creed. Can't remember the quest but I was hideously outnumbered and would always die. No going back to dashboard but just holding in guide button to turn xbox off......
Himself has gone through a few controllers as he would punch them repeatedly and they wouldn't work after a while. His brother is worse though. When he couldn't complete a match on a boxing game he calmly walked over to the playstation, took disc out of drive, walked to front door and threw the game into the road and watched a lorry run it over and smash it.
I have a friend at work who punches the fridge when he gets killed on MW3 and bites the controller........bless him!0 -
I finally got so pissed off at my kin (guild) leader on LOTRO that I rage-quit in the middle of a raid (I was the kin's main tank, so yeah... that was a really, really bad thing). It had built up over a few months of him harassing me, and despite being a really nice, super calm player (yes, it's true, that's rare for a raid tank, haha), I finally broke. It shocked everyone, and I missed a lot of people, but I definitely needed the break from the hardcore gaming life. Sometimes taking a bit of time off of a game is the way to deal with it. I came back to the game about a month ago after six months off, and it's been much more fun. I've approached it with a different attitude, adopted a support class as my main for now (my old main has become a much-loved - at least by me - alt), and I'm having a blast so far. A lot of my old kin-mates have commented on how much they missed me and how different my attitude is now.
I dunno, maybe that'll help you a bit?0 -
Id rather rage quit than read walkthroughs or buy guides0

i broke a few controllers in my teens and twenties. that beast doesnt rear its ugly head much anymore. the only time it happened in the last 10 years that i can think of was a few years ago when i was playing WOW and trying to lvl a frost mage by aoe grinding. i just couldnt get the handle of it and kept dieing. i finally got fed up and slammed my fist on my pull out keyboard tray and it broke. i just lol'd at myself at that point.0

The last game I rage quit was Dragon Age Origins. I get too invested in my games so when I found out that my character had to pick between her or Alistaire to kill the archdemon and ultimately die, I raged so hard haha
Normally I am too stubborn and determined to finish a quest/battle etc. to rage quit though.0 -
Super Meat Boy
'nuff said...LOL0 -

So glad my husband isn't on MFP, because that's kind of a big spoiler there.0 -
Back in the day I did break a few controllers. Recently I rage quit on Dead Island where the auto-save put me in a really bad position. Took me like a day to beat one part that I kept dying only 20 sec after respawning. HATE!0

I just rage quit GTA China Town Wars for my phone >8-[
Prob like halfway thru it, i get a text and it interrupts the game. No biggy, it pauses, when i get back to it, its frozen, no biggy i just saved it.
So i close and reatart...everything was gone! Oh the humanity! So much time, gone. Argggggghhhhh.
I wanted to press my phone screen so hard that the display would spiderweb. But i put Scott Pilgrim on and chilled myself the eff out.
Oh well, ...it was mainly a waiting room game but it started growing on me0 -

Oop, sorry! Figured that it was spoiler free since the game has been out a while, I should have put a warning there. But even if he read it, no fear, there are work arounds and alternates to everything in DAO, I think that's the beauty of it haha.0 -
definatley Yiazmat from Final Fantasy XII took me like 5 hours to kill him0
-
I'm currently rage quitting on the new Zelda game. I got to a part where this tiki looking thing kept killing me so i quit without saving... When i go back i have to do like 2 hours of replaying... sigh not worth it right now.0
-
ohhhhh yea all the time! lol
I just started playing Skyrim and i get so frustrated i always end up quitting.0 -
I've done this a couple times when raiding on WoW. Wipe after wipe after wipe cos some idiot can't stop standing in fire. Fake a d/c and throw my keyboard down in disgust.0
-
I had to rage-quit Skyrim yesterday because this stupid draugr wight kept killing me and I got all mad. I gave it one more try, only to find that he wasn't in his usual place, so I figured maybe I'd snuck past him and went on into the next room. But he followed me and attacked me from behind, so I yelped, which was embarrassing because my husband was sitting right there, so I had to quit for a while. But he made me play again and helped me strategize, and I finally beat the thing and moved on. If my husband hadn't been here, I probably would have given up, and that would have been the end of Skyrim.0
