"I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry." - Psalm 40:1

Hi! How many of you struggle with patience? It's one of life's toughest challenges. We, as humans, want answers immediately and sometimes have a hard time waiting. But, the Bible tells us to wait patiently for the Lord because He hears our cry. Everything is in His perfect timing! Never forget that....God bless! (from GodVine.com)

This came to me while I was reading the above devotional. I’m not sure if it is for someone else or just myself as I too needed this but if it is for you I hope you will take it to heart and remember that He is there for you.

We are a people of instant, microwave, gratification in all aspects of our lives – including our weight loss many times. We forget that we added this weight over an extended period of time and yet we want it off yesterday. Losing weight is a lesson in patience. We must exercise patience and confidence in God and ourselves. He promises to give us the desires of our hearts if we trust & obey Him and when we are getting our bodies in a more healthy condition we are obeying Him by taking care of His temple – our body.

Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself also in the LORD; and he shall give you the desires of your heart.”

Matthew 7:7 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

This patience is also needed for ourselves in many aspects of our lives. As we quickly approach the ending of yet another year our thoughts turn to so many things in our past. Many of us are grieving some sort of loss – whether it be the loss of a loved one through death, divorce, separation, our health, finances, our home, a pet. It doesn’t matter what our grief is caused by if we can be patient with ourselves and let ourselves trust in Him it does get easier. We grow & learn with time. Many things we will never forget but it can get easier with time. And no one can tell you how much time you will need to recover – 1 or 6 months, 1, 2, 5 years. Only God knows what you are dealing with and only He can soothe the heart & hurt but with Him all things are possible. Don’t let others dictate how you live, learn, grow & recover.

May God bless you and soothe your soul.

Thank you for being obedient to the leading of the Lord and sharing this with us. I too need patience when it comes to my daughter, she is a very strong willed, independent little almost 5 year old. I need to remember to have patience with her as God has with me. I know there have been times, and still are, in my walk with Him that I fought what I needed to do and wanted my way yet He in His grace and mercy has been very patient with me and never blows up on me. Thank You Father and help me to give my daughter the same mercy and grace You give me daily!
