As I've been playing with healthy living for the last 7 days, I've really given some thought to what my long term goals are and how I'm going to achieve them in 2012. Here's what I've come up with:

    1) Accountability! Get back to business with tracking my food. Make MFP my constant companion via PC and phone. If I want to splurge, then I need to burn enough calories to earn the splurge. No more slacking with logging like I've done this week.

    2) Get Moving! Develop an exercise plan/routine that works for me. I can't seem to stick to anything so I MUST come up with something to burn calories so I can stay in a good caloric intake range. Plus, as evidenced by myself and my MFP friends, healthy eating + exercise = good health/maximum weight loss.

    3) Take Control! I've gone back to letting food control me and I have to take control back NOW. I am going to apply this to other areas of my life too, like organization of clutter in my house. I've already taken the first steps and I WILL SUCCEED.

With these things, I WILL achieve my weight loss goal in 2012. I'm not going to give myself a deadline except to say that I want to be the best ME I can be everyday.

Added incentive: I have a family member who is getting married in September 2012 and I want to be in a new dress, looking the best anyone has ever seen me. I've never been at a healthy weight as an adult, and certainly have never been "thin". I also never wear dresses or skirts because they just don't look good on me at my current weight/shape. I am going to buy something awesome and look/feel awesome in it!

I can't wait to see how beautiful you will look! You are already gorgeous, so you will be completely stunning. Do you have a certain dress or style in mind?

This is the kind of the thing that always helps me. Keep a visual of what you want, set your plan and execute it!! I will cheer you on every step of the way!!

Since August of 2011 I have lost 15 pounds, but have also made significant progress in the following areas :

Bend over to tie shoes without running out of breath.
Increased upper body strength and get up and down from the floor without looking like a fish out of water. (Okay so i didn't say I moved THAT quickly)
Walk up 3 flights of stairs to my work cubicle without gasping for air and hanging on to the handrail to pull myself up.
Wear a size 14, down from a tight and uncomfortable tight 16.
Walk in, and accomplish a 5K.
Made some new really great friends on MFP.

For 2012, I am looking forward to the following:

    ***Improve upon my physical fitness.
Including seeking out 5K walking events in the area. (completed one today, and have 2 more targeted for the year)
Finding a place where I can 'hike'. (Yep, its flat Kansas, we'll see what is out there)
    Doing toning exercises

***Attain my goal weight by the end of this year
Very reasonable to expect that I can attain a 20 pound loss
Participate in monthly challenges, they keep me motivated and in line!
Wear a size 12, if not smaller.

****Maintain my newfound friendships on MFP, you guys are SO responsible for my success!

I like to only make resolutions that I can and want to keep. So here are my resolutions for 2012:
    1. To see BD part 1 100 times (good the DVD comes out in Feb.)
    2. To listen to the BD part 1 soundtrack at least 3 times per week.
    3. To reread the entire saga at least once.
    4. To visit with my Twi-friends as often as possible.
    5. Ride a unicorn with Edward (this one may be hard to manage).
    6. Watch BD part 2 at least 12 times.
I'm thinking that 2012 looks like a mighty good year.

Seriously, I hope to reach my weight goal this year, and then I hope to maintain my goal weight and healthy lifestyle. I plan on being on MFP forever. On New Year's Day 2013, I want my profile to read: 77tes has logged in 511 days in a row. :drinker:

You vamps/wolves are such an inspiration to me! You all have such great resolutions, can I just borrow yours?

I too resolve to increase my accountability by keeping calories under my limit 5/7 days a week; increase my exercise minutes by adding an aerobics+weights workout once a week; and reach and maintain my goal weight!

I love the challenges that keep me wanting to move forward by seeing what so many others do!

    Happy new year!

    For 2012, I plan to:
-stick with my program (food-wise, I follow the Medifast plan)
    -drink lots of water
    -reach my goal weight
-spend lots of family time together (particularly quality time with my husband once he gets back from deployment... wink wink)
-follow the couch to 5 k program
-run for several miles without stopping
    -create a home gym
-not succumb to my previous all-or-nothing attitude and desire to slip back into bad habits involving food comas
-work out regularly, varying with cardio/DVDs/strength/flexibility/wii fit/outdoor stuff/etc
-stay accountable on MFP and support my friends here
-on a personal note, I really want to get to a concert this year!
-buy BDP1 on DVD as soon as it's released, and see Rob's movies (ahem Bel Ami, BDP2)
-never give up on my path to health and fitness

I'd say I resolve to get more sleep, but who needs sleep when FFn exists? lol
