Is fast food an addiction

Hi all, I am new here and wanted to stop in and say hi and ask a question for some information and maybe some advice. I eat fast food a lot. I especially love taco bell. Due to health concerns I have been trying to cut back now and when I go for a period of time without eating out I gt mad cravings. almost like a craving for a cigarette would be. I find it strange because my mind and body knows exactly what it wants. For instance, a burger. If I try and eat a burrito, I won't be satisfied and will still crave for the burger. But if I eat a burger then all is well, at least for a little while. And lean meats or veggie patties don't cut it either. It seems that my body is craving the fat or grease or something.

Does anyone have any information on this or have the same problems with this, if so, how do you overcome the cravings without actually caving in?

I feel the same way. I think everyone has certain trigger foods that fill a whole that nothing else can. I find that if I eat something that is different enough it helps me. For instance, if I am craving a bigmac it will subside a lot if i eat something like yogurt. I would guess that a burrito and a hamburger are close enough in temperature, texture, ingredients, even color that your mind is kind of left hanging.
