Decided my cut-off time will be 8PM. In addition, I completely planned my food tomorrow. I'm treating it like Day 1. I really need a clean slate in my mind! Today was horrible, but when I wake up, I want to forgive myself and forget it. Who's with me?

Hi ya'all. I just joined LNS butt-kickers. This time of day is historically bad for me. I would eat like a crazy banshee in the evening. And bad food, too. Processed food, lots of food. I don't want to do that anymore. I can have something tasty and wise in the evenings. Just not all of whatever food I want. That is what made me embarrassingly overweight and sluggish.

A LNS challenge will give me a goal and support. I need to review this thread to make myself familiar with everyone in this group. So this is it....I am now a LNS fighter! I need to check-in if I am losing the fight. I need to remember that I am part of this challenge. How many of us just go mindlessly into the cupboards and eat before we know what we did? Like zombies or a sleep-walker. Definetly like a crazy person, full of regret afterwards.

    LNS:0

Here I go on the Challenge!

Oh yes, my cut off time will be 9:00pm. Maybe if I am really strong and smart I can eventually change my cut off time to8:00pm.

    Way to go ladies!!

Here's my progress to date: Through the first-half of 2011, I probably LNS about 5 out of 7 nights. By September, I had cut it down to 1 out of every 2 nights. Then I joined "LNS Challenge" in November. In November, I dropped to only having 10 LNS out of 30 days!! That is ONE OUT OF EVERY 3 DAYS....not too shabby.

And, in December, I bumped my total down even more. 8 nights out of 31. So, I'm getting VERY CLOSE to one-out-of-every-4 days.

    That is a REMARKABLE success!

For 2012, I'm going to kick-it-off with 2 separate goals: 1) to have 5 or fewer LNS PER MONTH; and 2) to cut-off at 7:30 pm (for Nov/Dec, my cut-off was 8:00 pm).

I'm here for you gals - and I know you are here for me!

    Beeps- great work for december

I am still struggling.....last night was not good. Even tho i did not want to eat it seemed that i could not stop myself. Willpower simply did not work. I think it was because i was home alone. gonna start again tonite....

karen, I agree that being home, alone, is soooooooooo tough! But, you can just start over for today - it's all GOOD!!

I also think you just need to try and do better than you did last month. So, if last month you had 15 LNS days, aim to be around 12-13 for January. If last month you had 23 LNS days, aim to be <20.

I'm finding the smaller the increments, the more I am able to succeed. And, lookie here....my January, 2012 goal is to have <5 LNS in ONE MONTH!! Gosh, by summer, I'll probably have eliminated LNS from my nutrition altogether. I'd say that's SMASHING!!

slightly over for my calories today but no desire to eat anything tonite so i will just have tea.......I think my cutoff time for my pre-planned snacks will be 8 pm cause who needs anything later than that??
my goal is for more consistency in january....i love seeing the Me numbers increase and the LNS numbers decrease!

My cut-off is 8 p.m.. Actually, I should be able to make it by 7:30.
The cut-off doesn't have to be fixed, actually. One could choose dinner time, for instance.
Also, keep in mind that some nights are "special" - such as weekends. I have seen people allowing themselves a special cut-off time for such nights.
If this works for you, fruit could be allowed past the cut-off time. Or healthy snacks, such as 10-15 almonds (not a whole bag!). If you're like me, though, you'll prefer to go cold turkey :P.

As for January, I suggest that we keep track of the progress in the other topic (January Challenge), if that's fine with all of you.

    Good luck! :flowerforyou:
  • My cut-off-time is going to be 9 PM. I am fine all day long. But in the evening went I am tired I want to eat. I have not always eaten at night it started about 5 years ago.I just started my fitness pal and I am doing OK but I would be doing great if I just didn't eat at night. I go to bed but then I get up to eat. I am hopefu that talking about it will help.

    Ruby, welcome and good luck!
Yes, talking about it should help - first step was done. Some of us (older at this) have noticed that in the evening when we feel like munching we think that the next day we'll have to report in and feel so embarrassed at the thought that we just don't bother eating . Well, as there's no free lunch, don't expect this to *always* work. We wouldn't still be in this challenge if it would

    Let's win against LNS!

Btw, would you like to be a member of our group? (if you aren't already)

My doctor recommended 8 pm cut-off, which doesn't always work because our family is often LDE (late dinner-eaters). I had some success the week after I saw him, but then slacked off again. I did it last night, but not *quite* the way I should: I ate a whole bag of cinnamon pita chips before my cut-off time! I am hoping this group will encourage & inspire me! I notice I feel better when I skip the LNS. It's also more relaxing, because I'm not constantly in search of "what can I eat now?" I need to keep those feelings in my head and my eye on the clock!
