I haven't watched much anime in the last few years. Can anyone suggest some good manga/anime?

I don't watch much anime but Chi's Sweet Home and Chi's New Address are both adorable!
As far as Manga... I read a lot. Here are some of the good ones I've read recently.
All of them are available to read online, too.
Horror:
I Am A Hero
Homunculus (this one is pretty bizarre and confusing)
Parasyte - HIGHLY recommended
Uzumaki - again, HIGHLY recommended.
Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service
pretty much anything by Junji Ito
Shonen:
Yakitate Japan
Shoujo:
Yumeiro Patissiere
Kitchen Princess
These are both pretty typical shoujo fluff manga but I enjoyed reading them for the cute food.0 -
I'm not sure how long it's been for you, but Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, and Angel Beats are some of my favourites from the last 5 years or so.0

I've seen HIgurashi no Naku Koro Ni, and Lucky Star (though not Haruhi), but I haven't seen Angel Beats. I'll look into it, thank you!I'm not sure how long it's been for you, but Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, and Angel Beats are some of my favourites from the last 5 years or so.

Great suggestion for horror. Yes, Junji Ito is amazing.
I personally really like Kodomo no Jikan although its very controversial (why I started reading it).
As for anime:
Soul Eater
Gantz
Highschool of the Dead
are what I'm watching lately. School Rumble is really funny if you haven't seen it yet!
PS: I live in Japan so Im surrounded by anime ^.^0 -

I recommend the most epic manga of all time, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure! Running for over 25 years. ;D
You can start from the beginning if you want ( I did), but most people find the art/story pretty rough..
A lot of people recommend starting from Part 3 - Stardust crusaders. This is the most famous part of Jojo because it was also animated into a short video series. You won't have a problem understanding the back story (from part 1 and 2) because it'll be recapped throughout.
The newest part, part 8 just started a few months ago. SO EXCITING!! But you can't really skip ahead to part 8 or you won't get the references as much.. yeah.
Okay. JOJO FOREVERRR0 -
Durarara!!
This!!
Would also recommend Soul Eater, Busou Renkin, D. Gray Man and Mushishi.
Also Chobits... because it's hilarious. I was put off for ages because it looked really girlie, but honestly it had both me and my boyfriend in stitches. We still quote stuff from it to each other 6 months later!0 -
Petshop Of Horrors

Ooooh and a Korean(er manga? I guess) would be Kill Me Kiss Me. It's such a good book *3*0 -
