Still binging and purging. Plus working out 5 plus a week with about 800 car burnt each time. The bulimia is just getting worse. I need to go see a counselor, but I been at this for a month now, and I am getting worse. I am still not seeing the results I want, I wish I was thinner by now. It is a lot of work, and I will continue to get there, I just wish I can stop the purging and do it the healthy way. Ugh. What to do, what to do....

  • I'm sure you already know this, but purging slows your metabolism so you're actually going to take longer to lose anything if you do that. Not to mention you absorb at least half the calories of whatever you ingested. So for you to lose weight at a steady rate you need to put out more energy than you're taking in, but with the slowed metabolism it's even harder to calculate because you have no idea what your body thinks you're taking in.

This is very well put. Although the whole "absorbs half the calories" thing can be subjective...it's definitely really hard to figure out what your body is getting. If you're eating 1200 calories a day and purging 600, and exercising, your net could be close to 0, in which case your body will start breaking down muscle for energy. I know it's really scary, I've been there (several times...), but you need to re-evaluate your goals and your readiness for recovery. I would STRONGLY suggest you find a counselor ASAP.

Yes you need to find a therapist. Your body is so screwed up from the binging and purging that it will take a while for it to get back to normal. And that is if you eat a normal amount of calories. It took mine years but I ended up going from bulimia to anorexia. Which I dont suggest(because in the mean time I almost died a couple of times too) So go get some help and be patient with your body.
