I'm pretty nervous about weigh in even though I'm not expecting much as we had a NYE party and ate and drank everything in site but I was good most of the days.. I will work hard for next week and I'll track my food everyday... Good luck to everyone and remember if you don't lose it's not the end of the world just get straight back into it... Xx

    HI Guys,

I will weigh in with you guys, eventhough I just started my regimen on Tuesday.

    Fingers crossed!

Thanks andreaie for starting the group. This is so much easier to keep track of everything & everyone

Not sure if I am looking forward to the weigh in tommorrow. I have started exercising again after not doing anything for several months & I usually gain weight at the beginning. Hopefully it won't be too much or if I am lucky I will be down a little bit.

I really need to learn to keep on track over the weekends...my problem is we are never home like today for example so it was just easier to grab Subway for lunch...or I just get to busy and don't bother to eat, eating doesn't seem to be a priority to me Saturday & Sunday?!?! Strange but true!!!

I don't usually have a problem staying on track on weekends as I make out a menu for the whole week.
BUT if I wanted a "cheat" day then I would use my weekend days as cheat days

I don't overdo it, I still try not to be more than 200 calories over my target calories.
For example if I really wanted pizza, wine & pie, I would spead that over 3 days, I would have pizza Friday night, a glass or 2 of wine on Saturday & a piece of pie for Sunday supper. Not often do I have a "cheat" day or weekend but once in a while it happens

If I do have a cheat day or weekend for everyday I cheated I put in an extra 10 minutes of exercise.

I've stayed the same all week on my scales. This is the first week that I have really drank 8glasses of water. I have exercised more and harder this week. Today I am staying off carbs to see if that will help the scale move. Want to show a loss!!!!!

  • I love how supportive this group is. beside my work ..i am home i take care of my uncle who moved in with me about a year and a hlf ago. he had a massive stroke. he is full time care. so when I am home that is it..there is no leaving his side...i have help that comes when i go to work...so I tend to get discouraged with my life being stuck here so often. and MFP has been my saving grace. another saving grace is that I teach strength training and chair yoga to woman over 50...so some days it is twice ...my classes are about i hour and 20 mins...and I teach 8 classes a week...so at least i can get excersize . sometimes when help is here i actually get a walk in. I would really like to thank everyone for always encouraging me...it like a family. thank you thank you!!!!

So glad you joined MFP, and our challenge group. It's a wonderful place to "come" to when you're down, discouraged, or even need a chuckle. You have so much going on in your life (stress, responsibility, etc.) so I am glad you are enjoying your time on MFP!! :flowerforyou:

hey challengers how are you all feeling this week... i really struggled the weekend.. i had a lot on and i ate and drank a lot :( i know im not gonna be down on the scales this week so im just gonna concentrate on staying the same... if i do that ill be a happy little camper.. hope your all doing well and keeping the spirits up, today is known to be the most depressing day of the year so if your feeling down dont worry there are a lot of people feeling the same way and the good thing is its only 1 day :) we have 5 more weigh ins till valentines so make them count ..
  • My week started good, but then T.O.M decide to come :(
Trying my hardest to stay away from the junk food which i normally stuff my face with whilst T.O.M is here, so far so good.
Exercise is difficult with T.O.M trying to go for a few walks instead of Zumba.
I'd be happy to just stay the same this week because of T.O.M.........Fingers Crossed.....

Hope everyone has a good week. Make every day count!!! :-) x

I deserve to be happy and slim because i have worked hard for it. I have given a lot of input to this healthy living and exercise and even when i have wanted to give in i haven't. I think i i deserve to be slim because that will make me happy :)

That was actually harder than i thought!

hey everyone.... here's the paragraph challenge that Andrea set for us... as this week's challenge.

Hmmmm... 5 things i love about myself is: (wowww... this is NOT as easy as it sounds....)

    1) I love my sense of humor
    2) I love my hair (most days ha ha ha)
    3) I love that I LOVE LOVE LOVE my family
    4) i love my determination and positive attitude
    5) i love that I don't have a gazillion friends... but the ones I have are worth a gazillion dollars to me!

I deserve to be happy and slim because i have been working so hard to "get there". I have tried my darnedest to get healthy and am trying hard to help my family be healthy as well. I don't feel like I'm dieting.... I really feel like I've made a lifestyle change and am trying every day to keep a positive attitude and to support my friends!

To write 5 things that I love about myself is next to impossible---not that I dont like myself but it is hard to come up with it.
    But I will try:
    1. my smile
    2. my optimistic nature
    3. my breasts
    4. The way I look now since I've lost 38 lbs.

I deserve to lose this weight so that I can be healthy and feel healthy. I have been working hard at this for a little over a year with a few set backs during last summer. It is slow going now but slow is good they say--stays off better that way. I am drinking water now which I havent done before. At this age the metabolism isnt very fast so I just have to work harder and accept slower loss.
    LOVE MYSELF!!!!

How is everyone doing this week? What are you doing for exercise? What works when you hit a plateau?
