I had a hip replacement 4 years ago that gave me a new lease of life.

I am blind on my left side.

Hmm, going in order (to the best of my recollection), Ranton and Eccleshall (Staffs), Much Wenlock (Shropshire), Englewood (Florida, USA - nearly three years) East Kilbride and Glasgow in Scotland (10 years), and then back to Wolves four years ago Tres circuitous.
4. What is your current occupation? What is your dream occupation?
Currently PA for an NHS sexual health clinic. Dream job - virtually anything I'm capable of that's not in admin. I do a fair bit of voluntary work in the LGBT community and I'd love to do that full time and paid. I'd be happy doing anything in the area of health promotion, community development, training/FE teaching and probably a lot more that I'd know if I saw it...

a. I'm a big geek - both in the computer/gadgetry sense, and also in needing to know about absolutely everything that grabs my attention. Also extends to knitting, sci-fi, taste in TV and film (probably music, too)
b. I'm totally gay - in the fabulous and women-fancying sense
c. My main heroes are Stephen Fry, Alan Turing and Brian Cox
d. I did a degree at Glasgow Caledonian University
e. I secretly want to wear goth clothes. There is a *happy*, geeky goth-type in red tartan trousers itching to get out of me!

I am a senior consultant for the NSPCC advising the education sector on safeguarding and child protection issues. My dream job is to be a policy advisor to government to priortise child protection and keeping all children safe from abuse. Hopefully i will get there within the next 10 years
5) Tell us 5 things about yourself?
a) I have a full back piece tattoo that took 40 hours and that i love
b) I have been with my boyfriend for 15 years and have not wanted to be married until I lost my mum last year now I am a little obsessed with being married
c) I love gigs and festivals and spend most of summer in a tent (normally in the rain) drinking cider and listening to ace music
d) I really want to lose weight to try and have a baby
e) I have just had laser eye surgery and should not spend so much time on the computer

i'm currently a barista (fancy term for a coffee maker, if you weren't sure.. haha!) for a catering company, but i'd love to be involved in an animal-orientated job of some sort..or a photographer! (totally random, i know)

1) I am volunteering at the London Olympics doing First Aid for the hocky centre
2) I have worked christmas day & boxing day for the last ten years
3) It took 10.5 years to have our first child and then our second one came along as a bonus
4) I learnt British Sign Language for two years but had to give it up as my dyslexic tendancies made it impossible
for me to "read" finger spelt words I struggle to visulize the word. Very frustrating.
5) Hubby & I got married in 1998 having been together for nearly ten years, we had 250 guests, I designed and made my
own dress. the entire wedding cost £3000. Which we thought was a lot of money!!!0 -

Great way to get to know you all... I've been on MFP for nearly 3 weeks now, it's grrrreat!
1. Where were you born? Windsor
2. Where do you live at the moment? Emsworth, near Havant, halfway between Portsmouth & Chichester
3. Where else have you lived? Cookham Dean, Berkshire; Kensington,West London; Edinburgh (at Uni); York; Horsham; East Molesey, Surrey; Teddington, Middlesex; Greenwich, Connecticut;
4. What is your current occupation? Retired psychologist, taught at management college, then FE colleges teaching AL, and was senior Examiner in AL Psychology, but busier now in retirement than ever - Treasurer of Carnival, and Christmas Grotto, and local Councillor (Lib Dem) among many other things I fill my days and nights with!
What is your dream occupation? MP, but too old for that now!
5. Tell us any 5 things about yourself
i) Married for over 40 years to a skinny, but wonderful man!
ii) 4 grown-up children, eldest son living in Japan, second son, with lovely wife and 4 super children living in Leicestershire, third son and lovely wife (expecting babe next month - first was stillborn a year ago) living in London (ssshhhh, he's banker!), and only daughter living in Nottingham, with lovely partner.
iii) Do a crossword and Sudoku every morning to keep my brain cells active
iv) Wrote a short story for the local paper, but it didn't win! Would like to write that book!
v) Love travelling, did several trips behind Iron Curtain in 60s, and fell in love with Poland (and some Poles!).

3. Have not lived anywhere else persae but OH has worked gas pipelines for 10 years so have stay in quite a few location around the uk for prolonged periods
4. I have my own business doin temporary tattoos during the summer in Skegness. Dream job is anything that involes working for myself, there is no other feeling like it, I have done since I was 21 and I'm 42 now.
5. I have lost 6 stone 20 years ago and have kept it off, but I always neeed something to keep me in check, nobody tells you the easy part is losing the weight.
I have spent the last 10 winters in Thailand
I am grading in June for my black belt kick boxing, well supposed to be but I sustained a serious knee injury last year and I'm not too sure at this juncture whether it will ever be right again.
My favourite food are eggs.
