Water intake

Food is about 80% of your goal, whether if your goal is to lose or gain weight. I do want you to know that you can survive without minimal food but you can't survive without water. The adult body is roughly composed of 70% water. This is vital to everyday life and functions of life. The recommendation is at least half you body weight in water, if not 96 oz of water or 3 liters or 1 gallon.
EX 180 lb man or woman would need to consume at least 90 oz in water.
You might feel like your drinking water all day, probably because you don't drink enough to begin with. Start small and build up. Work up to your number.
Remember that majority of us drink caffeine, which is very acidic to our bodies. So replenishing our bodies with water is a must.
Ex IF I drink a Grande Latte that is composed to 2 shots of espresso, which is also equivalent to 2 12 oz coffees. You would need to add an additional 24 oz of water to your daily intake.
I can't stress how much water is important to your everyday life. Carry a non disposable water bottle with you and DRINK AWAY!! Water that is.

I struggle with drinking fluids...period. I might drink 12 oz of ANY liquid in an entire 24 hour period. I'm always dehydrated and suffer from the side effects of dehydration (constipation, dry mouth, headaches, cramps, etc.) and have been told for years to "drink more water" to help me lose weight. The problem is...any time I try to ask someone for tips on how to drink more LIQUID they just say "keep a glass of water at your desk" or "carry a water bottle with you everywhere you go", start by swapping water for soda, then cut out coffee, etc. they don't ever get the fact that drinking water isn't my problem - I LOVE WATER - it's drinking anything in a liquid form at all is a huge challenge for me. As a matter of fact, I don't drink soda, tea, coffee, cappuccino's, seltzers, flavored waters, gatorade, lemonade, Kool-aid, beer, milk or anything else. I DO keep water at my desk, I always have order water at restaurants, I always have water at the table when eating meals - I just have a hard time getting it down. If I try to drink a glass of water when I wake up in the morning I throw up. If I try to drink water (or any liquid) in any situation where I am not truly thirsty I throw up.
I need advice on how to go from drinking 6 ounces of water a day to drinking 12 ounces, then I can work up from there. I need to find out the best way to get my body to be thirsty instead of hungry.
I will truly be shocked if you can help, but I am also afraid I am going to die young if someone doesn't give me the tools I need to become a hydrated human being.
Thank you for ANY advice you can give me that pertains to what my actual problem is.
I look forward to following your threads.0
